Ryan Poehling Won't Be an Option for Game 6

Anaheim Ducks center Ryan Poehling (upper body) won't play in Game 6 against the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday, Zach Cavanagh of The Sporting Tribune reports. The 27-year-old was injured in Game 5 on a big hit by Golden Knights defenseman Brayden McNabb. With four goals, Poehling is tied for second on his team this postseason and has added one assist in 11 outings. Ducks head coach Joel Quenneville is considering using an extra defenseman in Thursday's game, which suggests Radko Gudas (lower body) might finally be ready for his series debut. Among forwards, Jansen Harkins and Frank Vatrano are options to fill in for Poehling.

Ryan Poehling Suffers Upper-Body Injury in Game 5 Loss

Anaheim Ducks center Ryan Poehling (upper body) didn't finish Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. He left the game in the first period after taking a big hit from Golden Knights defenseman Brayden McNabb. Poehling needed assistance to leave the ice, and McNabb was assessed a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct for interference. Ducks head coach Joel Quenneville didn't have an update on Poehling postgame. Poehling has been quietly effective for the Ducks throughout the campaign. He finished the regular season with a career-high 36 points (11 goals, 25 assists) in 75 contests and has added five points (four goals, one assist) in 11 playoff outings. Frank Vatrano and Jansen Harkins are potential options to replace Poehling in the lineup if needed.

Ryan Poehling Becomes a Duck

The Anaheim Ducks have acquired center Ryan Poehling from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for forward Trevor Zegras. The deal also involved a couple of draft picks going to Anaheim, including this year's No. 45 pick. Poehling will kick off the 2025-26 campaign with his fourth NHL team, having previously also suited up for the Montreal Canadiens and Pittsburgh Penguins. After bouncing around, he found moderate success in Philadelphia, registering 31 points (12 goals, 19 assists) in 68 games this season. Poehling is expected to play a bottom-six role in Anaheim, which limits his fantasy value.

Ryan Poehling Not Expected To Play On Saturday

Philadelphia Flyers center Ryan Poehling (upper body) is expected to miss Saturday's contest against New Jersey. He was injured in Thursday's matchup against the Islanders when Maxim Tsyplakov delivered a high hit to Poehling. On Friday, the Russian rookie received a three-game suspension for the incident. Poehling has contributed four goals and 11 assists in 43 games. Olle Lycksell will replace him in the lineup. Lycksell has been on fire in the minors but hasn't registered any points in four NHL appearances this season. The 25-year-old has recorded nine goals and 24 points in 25 AHL outings.

Ryan Poehling Ready To Return On Monday

Philadelphia Flyers center Ryan Poehling (upper body, personal) has been activated from Injured Reserve and is poised to rejoin the lineup against San Jose on Monday. He's been out for three games with an upper-body injury while also dealing with a family matter. Poehling's work includes five assists, eight shots, 20 blocks, and seven hits in 12 outings this season. He will center the third line on Monday, with Anthony Richard and Matvei Michkov skating next to him. Morgan Frost will exit the lineup as a healthy scratch. Michkov's presence on his line will boost Poehling's fantasy appeal on Monday, especially since it's a favorable matchup against a team that allows 3.44 goals per game.

Ryan Poehling Out On Tuesday

Philadelphia Flyers center Ryan Poehling (personal) will not play in Tuesday's matchup against Carolina. He has not joined the team for its three-game road trip, with Flyers head coach John Tortorella noting that Poehling is a little banged up and also currently dealing with a family situation. Poehling has been effective in a bottom-six role with the Flyers, recording five assists in 12 games while winning 50 percent of his faceoffs. His absence allows Nicolas Deslauriers to rejoin the action. He will make only his fifth appearance of the season on Tuesday. Deslauriers plays a physical game and has registered nine hits despite averaging barely over six minutes of ice time per game. Offensively, he's been limited to one assist with two shots on goal.

Ryan Poehling On Second-Line Duty In Thursday's Game

Montreal Canadiens forward Ryan Poehling has a chance to skate on the second line in Thursday's matchup against Chicago, with the team having suffered a number of injuries. Christian Dvorak (lower body) was the latest victim of the injury bug in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Tampa. Artturi Lehkonen and Jake Evans are also on the line. Poehling has produced only four points with 22 shots in 13 games this season, but he will now have a better opportunity to impress. The 22-year-old has averaged a measly 11:22 of ice time for the season, and he will definitely see the ice a lot more as the second-line center. Poehling sits on the first power-play unit as well.
