Tanner Pearson News
Vancouver Canucks left wing Tanner Pearson (hand) won't return to action this season after undergoing a second hand surgery. He last played on Nov. 9 and was initially expected to miss 4-6 weeks, but his hand ended up requiring a second surgery and it will force Pearson to miss the rest of the campaign. He managed to skate in 14 games before getting hurt, scoring one goal and handing out four assists. The 30-year-old is finishing off the second season of a three-year deal signed in 2021.
Vancouver Canucks left wing Tanner Pearson (hand) underwent surgery on Thursday and is set to miss the next 4-6 weeks. He injured his hand in Wednesday's loss to Montreal. In Pearson, the Canucks are losing a first-line winger, although the 30-year-old has struggled for form in 2022-23, posting only five points in 14 games. Nils Hoglander, who scored Wednesday, could now find himself getting a big promotion from the fourth line, while Vasily Podkolzin and Conor Garland are also candidates to move up in the lineup.
Vancouver Canucks left wing Tanner Pearson made an early exit Wednesday against Montreal after suffering an undisclosed injury. He skated for 6:17 and collected four penalty minutes with two hits, one shot and a minus-two rating. Another bad night means that Pearson boasts just one point in his last eight outings. The 30-year-old clearly needs to perform better, especially as he has been skating on the first line. Pearson's tally for the season reads one goal and four assists in 14 games. He is regarded as day-to-day, with some reports suggesting that Pearson has hurt his left hand. The team now has a couple of nights off before playing a back-to-back set over the weekend.
Vancouver Canucks left wing Tanner Pearson left Thursday's 5-1 win over Arizona with an upper-body injury, but he's expected to be fine for Saturday's clash with the Sharks. The 29-year-old managed to log just eight shifts and 4:28 of ice time in the game. Pearson has been sleepwalking in recent weeks, but he's a first-liner for the Canucks and has done a decent job with 34 points in 68 games. He's also among the team leaders with a plus-nine rating. With Brock Boeser (upper body) also out, Vasily Podkolzin has taken up a top-six role, and there will be more movements in the lineup if Pearson fails to recover for the weekend. He's officially considered day-to-day, as is Boeser, who's sat out two games.
