Canadiens Will Not Re-Sign Tanner Pearson

Montreal Canadiens left wing Tanner Pearson will be on the move as a free agent this summer. According to NHL insider David Pagnotta, the Canadiens have decided against extending Pearson, who spent one season in Montreal. The 31-year-old was acquired from Vancouver ahead of the 2023-24 campaign. Pearson recorded 13 points (five goals, eight assists) in 54 regular-season outings. Things didn't go well for Pearson in Montreal, but he should draw plenty of interest on the open market as a player who averaged 0.50 points per game just a couple of seasons ago. The veteran winger boasts 138 goals and 285 points in 644 career games.

Tanner Pearson Back In Action On Tuesday

Montreal Canadiens left wing Tanner Pearson (upper body) will return from a 19-game absence on Tuesday against Ottawa. Pearson had a below-par start to the campaign before getting injured, and he won't be in a great position to perform in his comeback either, as the 31-year-old is slated to join the fourth line. The 2014 Stanley Cup winner has tallied only four goals and four assists in 27 games in 2023-24.

Tanner Pearson Out On Sunday

Montreal Canadiens left wing Tanner Pearson (upper body) won't play Sunday versus Nashville. He suffered an upper-body injury early into Saturday's clash with the Sabres and has to sit out his first game of the year. Pearson has contributed four goals and four assists in 27 appearances during his debut campaign in Montreal. He's mostly seen third-line action and will be replaced by Michael Pezzetta on Sunday.

Tanner Pearson Stays Hot In Win Over Buffalo

Montreal Canadiens left wing Tanner Pearson continued his good start to the season with a two-point performance Monday against Buffalo. He had a power-play goal and registered an assist, both in the third period, to help the team to a 3-1 win. Pearson now has points in four consecutive games, scoring three goals during the run and handing out two assists. The 31-year-old will have a chance to match his career-high with a five-game point streak Tuesday versus New Jersey.

Canadiens Pick Up Tanner Pearson From Vancouver

The Montreal Canadiens have acquired left wing Tanner Pearson from the Vancouver Cancuks for goaltender Casey DeSmith and a third-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. Pearson, who won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Los Angeles Kings in 2014, moves on from Vancouver after playing four and half seasons with the Canucks. The 31-year-old was limited to only 14 appearances last season due to a hand issue, which eventually needed multiple surgeries to get fixed. Pearson, who boasts 272 points (133 goals, 139 assists) in 590 career games, is now healthy and ready to go for the new campaign, and he'll have every incentive to play well, with this being a contract year for him.

Tanner Pearson Ruled Out For The Rest Of The Season

Vancouver Canucks left wing Tanner Pearson (hand) won't return to action this season after undergoing a second hand surgery. He last played on Nov. 9 and was initially expected to miss 4-6 weeks, but his hand ended up requiring a second surgery and it will force Pearson to miss the rest of the campaign. He managed to skate in 14 games before getting hurt, scoring one goal and handing out four assists. The 30-year-old is finishing off the second season of a three-year deal signed in 2021.

Tanner Pearson Out For 4-6 Weeks After Surgery

Vancouver Canucks left wing Tanner Pearson (hand) underwent surgery on Thursday and is set to miss the next 4-6 weeks. He injured his hand in Wednesday's loss to Montreal. In Pearson, the Canucks are losing a first-line winger, although the 30-year-old has struggled for form in 2022-23, posting only five points in 14 games. Nils Hoglander, who scored Wednesday, could now find himself getting a big promotion from the fourth line, while Vasily Podkolzin and Conor Garland are also candidates to move up in the lineup.

Tanner Pearson Exits Wednesday's Game With Injury

Vancouver Canucks left wing Tanner Pearson made an early exit Wednesday against Montreal after suffering an undisclosed injury. He skated for 6:17 and collected four penalty minutes with two hits, one shot and a minus-two rating. Another bad night means that Pearson boasts just one point in his last eight outings. The 30-year-old clearly needs to perform better, especially as he has been skating on the first line. Pearson's tally for the season reads one goal and four assists in 14 games. He is regarded as day-to-day, with some reports suggesting that Pearson has hurt his left hand. The team now has a couple of nights off before playing a back-to-back set over the weekend.

Tanner Pearson Suffers A Minor Injury

Vancouver Canucks left wing Tanner Pearson left Thursday's 5-1 win over Arizona with an upper-body injury, but he's expected to be fine for Saturday's clash with the Sharks. The 29-year-old managed to log just eight shifts and 4:28 of ice time in the game. Pearson has been sleepwalking in recent weeks, but he's a first-liner for the Canucks and has done a decent job with 34 points in 68 games. He's also among the team leaders with a plus-nine rating. With Brock Boeser (upper body) also out, Vasily Podkolzin has taken up a top-six role, and there will be more movements in the lineup if Pearson fails to recover for the weekend. He's officially considered day-to-day, as is Boeser, who's sat out two games.

Tanner Pearson Cements Win For Vancouver Saturday

Vancouver Canucks left-winger Tanner Pearson dished out a helper on an early Vancouver goal. Then, he added an empty-net goal against the Seattle Kraken to cement the win for the Canucks. Pearson played 15:50 including nearly two minutes on the man advantage. He got in a fight with Carson Soucy and had four shots on goal as well. The winger had several quality scoring chances throughout the game. Pearson now has six goals and nine assists in 34 games this season for the Canucks.

Tanner Pearson Scores On Wednesday

Vancouver Canucks left-winger Tanner Pearson helped extend the Canucks streak to seven games with a goal early in the third period on Wednesday. His fifth tally of the season tied the game at one versus the Anaheim Ducks. What may have been more impressive was the fact that Pearson fired seven shots on John Gibson in just over 16 minutes of ice time. The forward is starting to show some of the form he had during his first full season in Vancouver when he had 21 goals and 45 points in 69 games. His shot and chances are coming close to that level. He is still shooting just under 6% on the season, though, which is well below his 11.1% career average.

Tanner Pearson Finds Back Of The Net On Sunday

Vancouver Canucks left-winger Tanner Pearson has had a long season of bad-puck luck and worse. However, on Sunday night he found a loose puck in the crease for his third goal of the season. It also happened to be his first power-play goal as well. The craziest thing is that Pearson had just one shot on goal. It was the one that went in. That gave Pearson three goals on 52 shots. His shooting percentage in Vancouver is at 11.4%, so in theory, some goals should be coming soon if Pearson keeps generating chances.

Tanner Pearson Out For At Least Four Weeks

Vancouver Canucks left wing Tanner Pearson (lower body) has been ruled out for at least four weeks. He had just started to pick up pace following a long dry spell, recording two points in three outings, but an apparent ankle problem will now lead to a month-long absence. Pearson has 11 points for the season and he was skating on the first line before getting hurt. His injury gives Jimmy Vesey a chance to make his Canucks debut. The former college hockey standout was claimed off waivers this week. He posted seven points in 30 outings with very limited minutes for Toronto. Antoine Roussel will also draw back into the lineup on Friday.
