William Karlsson Out Day-to-Day

Vegas Golden Knights center William Karlsson (lower body) has been tagged as day-to-day after getting hurt in Saturday's loss against the Anaheim Ducks. Karlsson registered an even-strength assist in the first period but left the game before the second frame due to a lower-body injury. So far, it has been a mediocre season for Karlsson, who has accumulated seven points (four goals, three assists) in 14 games. If he is unable to play on Monday against the Florida Panthers, the Golden Knights will likely re-insert Alexander Holtz into the lineup. Brett Howden is expected to take over center duties on the third line.

Akira Schmid Posts First Shutout of the Season

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Akira Schmid stopped 24 shots in Tuesday's 1-0 win over the Detroit Red Wings, picking up his first shutout of the season. Led by Dylan Larkin, the Red Wings have been very productive offensively this season, but Schmid found answers to all their efforts on Tuesday night. The 25-year-old has been nearly unbeatable so far in 2025-26, going 6-1-0 in seven appearances. Schmid owns a 2.31 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage. Losing Adin Hill (lower body) early in the season was a blow for the Golden Knights, but they have received outstanding goaltending from Schmid, who holds a perfect 3-0-0 home record.

Noah Hanifin Expected to Return From 10-Game Absence Tuesday

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Noah Hanifin (lower body) has been cleared to return to the lineup on Tuesday against the Detroit Red Wings. Hanifin has played in only one game this season, missing the past 10 contests due to a lower-body injury. The Boston native is expected to join Zach Whitecloud on the second defensive pairing. He will likely also hop on the second power-play unit. A season ago, Hanifin amassed 10 of his 39 points with the man advantage. He finished the campaign with 10 goals and 29 assists in 80 games.

Adin Hill Out Week-to-Week

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Adin Hill (lower body) was deemed week-to-week by head coach Bruce Cassidy on Wednesday. He suffered a lower-body injury on Monday against the Carolina Hurricanes, and the issue will likely keep Hill sidelined for multiple games. Hill has posted a 1-2-0 record this season, allowing 2.73 goals with a .888 save percentage. With him on the shelf, the team will rely on Akira Schmid, who boasts a perfect 4-0-0 record. On Wednesday, Carl Lindbom was recalled from the minors to provide backup for Schmid in the upcoming games.

Adin Hill Suffers Lower-Body Injury Monday

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Adin Hill (lower body) saw only 9:54 of action in Monday's tilt against the Carolina Hurricanes. Hill appeared to have injured his left leg in the first period, giving up the crease to Akira Schmid, who helped the team secure a 4-1 victory with 22 saves. Vegas has its next game scheduled for Saturday, giving Hill good recovery time. However, he may still end up missing some time, which would provide Schmid with additional playing opportunities. Despite starting only two games so far this season, Schmid has posted a 4-0-0 record. He also replaced Hill in a game on Oct. 14.

Mark Stone Out Week-to-Week

Vegas Golden Knights right wing Mark Stone (wrist) has been labeled as week-to-week. The Golden Knights lost their captain to a wrist injury in Saturday's matchup against the Calgary Flames. The injury forces Stone to pause what has been a very successful campaign for him so far. 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) through six games puts Stone second on the NHL's scoring charts. Vegas is expected to use Brandon Saad in Stone's place on the top line Monday night against the Carolina Hurricanes. Saad has gone scoreless in six appearances, but he could get a boost by linking up with the league's top scorer, Jack Eichel.

Mark Stone Suffers Apparent Wrist Injury

Vegas Golden Knights right wing Mike Stone appeared to injure his wrist during Saturday's 6-1 win against the Calgary Flames. The Golden Knights captain left the contest in the middle of the third period. It was a cruel ending to a great night for Stone, as he notched two goals and two assists against the Flames. The veteran forward now sits on 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) through six games this season. Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy said he would know more about Stone's injury on Sunday or Monday. If Stone has to miss time, Brandon Saad would likely be brought back into the lineup.

Noah Hanifin Not Ready to Return Saturday

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Noah Hanifin (undisclosed) will remain out for a fifth consecutive game on Saturday against the Calgary Flames. He is still listed as day-to-day, with his next chance to return on Monday night against the Carolina Hurricanes. Ben Hutton is filling in for Hanifin and has picked up a couple of assists over the last four games. Additionally, he has recorded eight shots on goal, three blocks, and two hits. Forward Brett Howden (lower body) will also remain on the shelf on Saturday, missing a third consecutive contest. He's been replaced by Cole Reinhardt on the fourth line.

Mark Stone Stays Hot With Hat Trick of Assists

Vegas Golden Knights right wing Mark Stone continued his hot start to the season by providing three assists in Thursday's 6-5 victory over the Boston Bruins. The Golden Knights captain collected his assists in the second period, making an impact in all situations. With nine assists, Stone now holds the franchise record for the most helpers in the team's first five games of a season. Although he has yet to lit the lamp this season, having fired 15 shots on net, the goals are likely to come soon. In Thursday's win alone, the veteran forward had six shots on goal.

Noah Hanifin Remains Sidelined Thursday

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Noah Hanifin (undisclosed) will miss a fourth consecutive game on Thursday against the Boston Bruins. Hanifin played in Vegas' season opener but has since battled an undisclosed health issue. Ben Hutton has entered the lineup during his absence and is expected to continue in a second-pairing role on Thursday. Hanifin's next opportunity to return will come in a special spot, as the Golden Knights host his former team, the Calgary Flames, on Saturday. On Thursday, Vegas also remains without forward Brett Howden (lower body), who will skip a second straight game.

Akira Schmid Faces Bruins Thursday

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Akira Schmid will start Thursday's matchup against the Boston Bruins. Adin Hill (lower body) has received the green light to play, but he will only dress as a backup on this occasion. Schmid performed well as Hill's replacement on Tuesday against the Calgary Flames and will enter Thursday's clash with a 2-0-0 record. He has allowed 1.80 goals while posting a .929 save percentage. The Golden Knights are massive -240 favorites on Thursday night, making this a very favorable spot for Schmid.

Brett Howden Dealing With Lower-Body Injury

Vegas Golden Knights forward Brett Howden (lower body) is considered day-to-day, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports. Howden was a surprise scratch for Tuesday's matchup against the Calgary Flames, but it was revealed that he missed the action due to injury. If it's not too serious, Howden could return to the lineup on Thursday against the Boston Bruins. Playing on the fourth line, Howden has recorded one goal, two shots, and six hits in three appearances this season. On Tuesday, Cole Reinhardt made his season debut in Howden's absence, registering three hits across a team-low 9:22 of ice time.

Adin Hill Sustains Lower-Body Injury Versus Flames

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Adin Hill (lower body) left Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Calgary Flames after the first period. He sustained a lower-body injury during the contest and gave up the crease to Akira Schmid. After Hill allowed two goals on 10 shots, Schmid helped the Golden Knights to a nice comeback victory with 19 saves. Depending on Hill's status, we may see more of Schmid in upcoming games. Vegas' backup has actually outplayed Hill early in the season, going 2-0-0 while allowing only three goals. Hill has a 0-0-2 record with a 3.60 goals-against average.

Jack Eichel Racks Up Four Points Against Kings

Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel finished Wednesday's season-opening 6-5 shootout loss against the Los Angeles Kings with a goal and three assists. Two assists came on the power-play for Eichel, who is now the ninth player in NHL history to tally at least four points in multiple season openers. Eichel's outstanding performance came after the team announced that it had signed a massive eight-year, $108 million contract extension with him. The American star sure performed like a $100 million player against the Kings and will have great momentum for the rest of the week. Vegas faces the San Jose Sharks on Thursday and then heads to Seattle on Saturday.

Pavel Dorofeyev Scores Special Hat Trick Wednesday

Vegas Golden Knights winger Pavel Dorofeyev scored the first hat trick of the new NHL season in Wednesday's 6-5 shootout loss against the Los Angeles Kings. The Russian forward became the fourth player in franchise history to score three goals in a single period, helping the team tie the game at three by the end of the second frame. He struck twice on the power play. Dorofeyev's three hat tricks lead all NHLers in 2025. His first outing of the new campaign was very impressive, considering Dorofeyev battled a lower-body injury for much of the preseason. It's safe to say he has completely moved on from the injury.

Jack Eichel Agrees to Eight-Year Extension With Golden Knights

Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel agreed to an eight-year contract extension ahead of Wednesday's season opener against the Los Angeles Kings. The superstar forward will earn $108 million over the course of the deal, giving him $13.5 million cap hit starting with the 2026-27 season. Eichel will come off an eight-year, $80 million contract next offseason. With his future settled, Eichel can now fully concentrate on helping Vegas win its second Stanley Cup. If he stays injury-free this season, there's a strong chance Eichel reaches the 100-point mark for the first time in his career. Last season, he scored 28 goals and 94 points in 77 games.

Pavel Dorofeyev to Be Game-Time Call Wednesday

Vegas Golden Knights winger Pavel Dorofeyev (lower body) will be a game-time decision for Wednesday's season opener against the Los Angeles Kings, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports. Dorofeyev was hurt early in the preseason but could be ready to go for opening night. The Russian forward practiced on Tuesday, and Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy told reporters that he expects Dorofeyev to be available against L.A. Dorofeyev will begin the season on a line with Brandon Saad and Tomas Hertl. He has a significant role to play in the Vegas offense, having led the team with 35 goals last season.

Alex Pietrangelo Doesn't Rule Out Return This Season

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Alex Pietrangelo (hip) has not ruled out playing in 2025-26. "Nothing is really concrete. I'm just going to continue to take it day-by-day and see where it goes," the veteran defenseman said Monday when asked whether he would rule out playing this upcoming season. During the offseason, the Golden Knights announced that Pietrangelo was stepping away from "the intensity of hockey" to see if his injured hip could improve enough to have "a normal quality of life." He was expected to miss the entire 2025-26 season at a minimum. However, Pietrangelo's rehab has been going well, giving hope that he can return to action at some point this season. The 35-year-old finished last season with 33 points (four goals, 29 assists), 123 shots, 139 blocks, and a plus-11 rating in 71 games.

Jeremy Lauzon Dealing With an Injury

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Jeremy Lauzon (undisclosed) left Friday's practice early after "tweaking something." Per Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy said that Lauzon was held out for precautionary reasons. Lauzon sat out the second half of last season due to a lower-body injury, and he now seems to be dealing with a new issue. However, it doesn't sound like it's very serious, and Lauzon still has a chance to be ready for opening night. Vegas acquired the 28-year-old from the Nashville Predators during the offseason. He will strengthen the team's depth on the backline but won't provide any fantasy value. Lauzon finished last season with one assist, 25 shots, 34 blocks, 127 hits, and a minus-four rating in 28 games.

Jack Eichel Returns to Practice

Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel (undisclosed) was back in practice on Friday, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Eichel suffered "a little tweak" during the first day of training camp on Thursday, but it was apparently a very minor issue. As things stand, Eichel is set to start the upcoming campaign without a contract for next season. This could be an additional motivating factor for the star forward, who notched a career-high 94 points (28 goals, 66 assists) in 77 games last term.
