William Karlsson Undergoes Wrist Surgery

Vegas Golden Knights center William Karlsson underwent wrist surgery on Wednesday. The 33-year-old was hurt in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Carolina Hurricanes, and Golden Knights general manager Kelly McCrimmon revealed that Karlsson needed to have wrist surgery. Karlsson has had tough luck with injuries recently and ended up playing more playoff games (15) than regular-season contests (14) in 2025-26. The Swedish veteran sustained a lower-body injury in early November and didn't return to action until Round 2 of the playoffs. Next season, Karlsson will finish an eight-year, 47.2 million contract. His injury history makes Karlsson a tough player to trust in fantasy hockey.

Mitch Marner Finishes Playoffs as Top Scorer

Vegas Golden Knights forward Mitch Marner finished the 2026 playoffs with a league-high 29 points (10 goals, 12 assists) in 22 games. He was on fire throughout the postseason, though Marner couldn't add to his scoring tally in the last two games of the Finals. He finished just two points short of becoming only the third player in the last 30 years to record at least 10 points in his first Finals appearance. Marner earned 80 points (24 goals, 56 assists) in 81 games in his first regular season with the Golden Knights. This was Marner's first year in eight seasons without averaging at least a point per game, but his playoff form suggests fantasy managers can expect him to raise his performance levels in 2026-27.

Pavel Dorofeyev Breaks Slump With Two Goals

Vegas Golden Knights winger Pavel Dorofeyev scored both of his team's goals in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Early in the game, Dorofeyev set a new franchise record with his fifth power-play goal in this year's playoffs. He also became the first Vegas player with four multi-goal games in a single postseason. These were his first points of the Finals. Dorofeyev started the postseason red-hot, but he found himself on a six-game point drought before Thursday's contest. The Golden Knights will be desperate for another big performance from Dorofeyev in Sunday's elimination game. Despite his slump, the Russian forward sits second on his squad with 12 goals in 21 playoff games and has collected 16 points.

William Karlsson Likely Done for Finals

Vegas Golden Knights center William Karlsson (arm) is expected to miss the rest of the 2026 Stanley Cup Finals against the Carolina Hurricanes, Bill Price of NHL.com reports. The Swedish veteran sustained an apparent arm injury in Thursday's Game 5. "He's not going to be with us probably," Golden Knights head coach John Tortorella said postgame. "We've got to find a way to fill that void. Not just with one guy, but as a team." In the playoffs, Karlsson has been part of a productive second line, earning nine points (three goals, six assists) in 15 games. An early end to the playoffs will be frustrating for Karlsson, who was also limited to 14 regular-season games due to a lower-body injury.

William Karlsson Produces Multi-Point Performance in Game 4

The Swedish veteran has been anonymous for most of the postseason, but he's averaging a point per game in the Finals. He has found himself centering two scoring machines, skating alongside Brett Howden and Mitch Marner. In total, Karlsson has posted nine points (three goals, six assists) in 14 playoff games since entering the lineup at the start of Round 2.

Mark Stone Nets Seventh Career Finals Goal

Vegas Golden Knights right wing Mark Stone scored his seventh career Finals goal in Tuesday's 5-3 Game 4 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. The Golden Knights captain scored 7:22 into the first period after Carolina had jumped to an early 2-0 lead. Only five active players have scored more goals in the Finals, with Brad Marchand (13) at the top of the pile. Stone has two goals in this year's edition. Since returning from a lower-body injury, Stone has found the back of the net four times in six games, adding one assist. Stone is playing well, which is good news for the Golden Knights, who are chasing the second Stanley Cup in franchise history.

Shea Theodore Caps Multi-Point Effort With Game-Winning Goal Saturday

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Shea Theodore netted the game-winning goal in Saturday's 5-4 double-overtime victory against the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 3 of the 2026 Stanley Cup Finals. He also notched an assist as Vegas grabbed a 2-1 series lead. Theodore scored via a lucky bounce off the board and the skate of Hurricanes goaltender Brandon Bussi 5:38 into the second overtime, becoming the seventh defenseman in NHL history to register multiple overtime goals in a single postseason. In an extraordinary contest, which featured a four-goal comeback by the Hurricanes in the third period, Theodore led all skaters with 39:09 of ice time. This was Theodore's second multi-point effort in the Finals after he had a goal and two assists in Game 1. He has recorded 16 points (six goals, 10 assists) in 19 postseason appearances.

Brayden McNabb Uncertain for Game 3 Against Hurricanes

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Brayden McNabb's (face) status for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night is unclear, ESPN's Greg Wyshynski reports. The 35-year-old suffered a facial injury in Game 2 after being hit by a puck, exiting the contest in the first period. On Saturday morning, Golden Knights head coach John Tortorella said there was no update on McNabb. Kaedan Korczak is expected to replace McNabb in the lineup if he can't play. Although he hasn't yet appeared in the Finals, Korczak has made 12 appearances this postseason, averaging nearly two hits per game and contributing three assists on offense.

Mark Stone Scores Sixth Playoff Goal in Overtime Defeat

Vegas Golden Knights right wing Mark Stone potted a late game-tying goal in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals. John Tortorella's team blew a 2-0 lead in the third period, but Stone's sixth goal of the playoffs extended the contest. Four of Stone's goals have come in his last six outings. After missing some action in the postseason due to a lower-body injury, Stone has started to gain momentum. Since returning to the lineup, he has averaged a point per game. The Vegas captain has recorded 11 points (six goals, five assists) in 13 postseason outings overall, averaging two SOG per game.

Mitch Marner Records Two Assists in Game 2 Loss

Vegas Golden Knights forward Mitch Marner finished Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals with two assists. He set up Brett Howden with a lob pass in the first period and bagged another helper when Mark Stone sent the game into overtime late in the third. Marner tied teammate Jack Eichel for the most assists in the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs. He has helped set up 17 goals in 18 games, adding seven goals. Currently, Marner is the only player to reach at least 20 points this postseason, putting him in a good position to earn the Conn Smythe Trophy if Vegas wins the Finals.

Brett Howden Matches Franchise Record With Another Productive Outing

Vegas Golden Knights forward Brett Howden remained red-hot in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Thursday night, scoring twice in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. Two goals from Howden gave Vegas a 2-0 lead, but Carolina stunned the visitors with a third-period comeback. Howden reached 13 goals in the playoffs, tying him with Jonathan Marchessault for the most for Vegas in a single playoff campaign. He is now one of only seven players in NHL history to score at least 10 regular-season goals and then exceed his total in the playoffs. The 28-year-old has emerged as a serious Conn Smythe Trophy contender, amassing 16 points in 18 postseason games.

Brayden McNabb Hospitalized After Taking Puck to Face

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Brayden McNabb (face) was taken to the hospital after he was hurt early in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals against Carolina on Thursday, ESPN's Greg Wyshynski reports. McNabb took an 87 mph slap shot to his face in the first period, exiting the action after logging only seven shifts. Jeremy Lauzon moved up to the first defensive pairing, while the rest of the blue line also saw a heavier workload. McNabb contributed three assists in Game 1 against Carolina and has totaled seven points (one goal, six assists) in 16 games during the playoffs. Kaedan Korczak and Ben Hutton are options to enter the lineup if McNabb can't play in Saturday's Game 3.

Shea Theodore Notches Three Points in Game 1 Win

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Shea Theodore made a mark in Tuesday's 5-4 Game 1 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes with a goal and two assists. Vegas' first defensive pairing of Theodore and Brayden McNabb played a major role in the contest, becoming the first set of defensemen from the same team to each record three points in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Theodore has heated up as the postseason nears its conclusion, putting together a three-game point streak. Throughout the playoffs, he has been a steady offensive contributor, logging five goals and nine assists in 17 games.

Brayden McNabb Sets Up Three Goals in Game 1 Win Over Hurricanes

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Brayden McNabb had a special outing in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday, finishing a 5-4 victory with three assists. He became only the seventh defenseman in NHL history to open the Finals with a three-assist effort. McNabb's big performance came out of nowhere, as the 35-year-old isn't known for his offensive ability. In 63 regular-season games, he posted 12 points (five goals, seven assists). McNabb had three points in 14 playoff games before snagging four points across the past two games. Given that McNabb has had a three-game postseason point streak only once in his 14 NHL seasons, fantasy managers shouldn't count on his offensive surge lasting.

Brett Howden Starts Finals With Multi-Point Effort

Vegas Golden Knights forward Brett Howden recorded a goal and an assist in the 2026 Stanley Cup Finals opener against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday, helping his team to a 5-4 win. The 28-year-old factored in two go-ahead goals, assisting William Karlsson on Vegas' third goal of the night and scoring the team's fourth himself. Remarkably, Howden leads the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs with 11 goals and is now just one tally away from his regular-season mark of 12. Howden, who has 14 points in 17 postseason appearances, needs two more goals to tie Jonathan Marchessault's franchise record for most in a single playoff run.

Tomas Hertl Scores Game-Winner in Finals Opener

Vegas Golden Knights forward Tomas Hertl scored the 5-4 game-winning goal in Game 1 of the 2026 Stanley Cup Finals against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night. The Golden Knights lost the lead midway through the third period, but Hertl's fourth postseason goal gave the team a valuable road win. On Tuesday night, Hertl reached 10 points for the 2026 postseason. He's recovered from a very slow start, averaging a point per game over his last eight appearances. Having lost the 2016 Finals with San Jose, the Czechia forward will be determined to avoid the same outcome this time.

Jeremy Lauzon Returns to Action Tuesday

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Jeremy Lauzon (upper body) will be back in action on Tuesday in Game 1 of the 2026 Stanley Cup Finals, Mike Zeisberger of NHL.com reports. Lauzon hasn't played since being hit by a puck in Game 6 of Vegas' first-round matchup with the Utah Mammoth. He finished the first round scoreless but had eight blocks and 14. Vegas hopes Lauzon's physicality will be an asset in the Finals. "Good solid positional defenseman," Golden Knights head coach John Tortorella said. "Has some bite to him. He was missed." Lauzon is expected to join Dylan Coghlan on the third defensive pairing, with Kaedan Korczak sitting out the action as a healthy scratch.

Carter Hart Finishes Series-Clincher With 20 Saves

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Carter Hart made 20 saves in Tuesday's series-clinching 2-1 victory over the Colorado Avalanche in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals. He fell just 2:03 short of becoming the third active netminder to record a shutout in a victory that has given a team a berth in the Stanley Cup Finals. On Tuesday night, Hart picked up his sixth consecutive win. He's been in phenomenal form during the hot streak, producing a .948 save percentage. Over his last 11 outings, Hart has allowed more than two goals only twice. This has helped him to a 12-4 postseason record, and he has registered a 2.22 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage.
