Ilya Samsonov Posts 31 Save Shutout On Sunday

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Ilya Samsonov stopped all 31 shots he faced en route to shutting out the Calgary Flames on Sunday evening. The Knights claimed the lead in the second frame and Samsonov was able to keep the door shut throughout. The backup goaltender is now riding a four-game win streak. Over this impressive stretch he has posted a stellar .948% SV with a 1.25 GAA. Before this span, Samsonov allowed 16 goals over his previous four starts and carried a 3.96 GAA. While the 27-year-old will continue to operate as the No.2 option behind Adin Hill, he may eventually begin to carve out a larger role given his strong play over the past month. For now, fantasy managers in standard formats should consider streaming Samsonov in favorable matchups.

Adin Hill Sharp In Monday's Victory

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Adin Hill stopped 31 of the 32 shots he faced en route to defeating the Anaheim Ducks on Monday evening. Hill's lone blemish came in the third period on a snap shot from Mason McTavish which tied the game at the time. Tomas Hertl was able to break the stalemate later in the frame. Hill has now won six of his past seven starts and seven of his past nine. Over his past seven games, Hill has held a strong .925% SV with a 2.14 GAA. During this span, he has only allowed more than three goals on one occasion and allowed two or less in five. Overall, the 28-year-old sits with an impressive 15-5-2 record this season with two shutouts, and a 2.61 GAA and a .905% SV. He will look to extend his win streak on Friday evening against the San Jose Sharks.

Ivan Barbashev, Nicolas Roy Remain Out Monday

Vegas Golden Knights forwards Ivan Barbashev (upper body) and Nicolas Roy (upper body) will remain out for Monday's contest against Anaheim. Both players are unavailable for a third consecutive game. Pavel Dorofeyev has enjoyed first-line usage during Barbashev's absence but will skate on the third line on Monday, with Victor Olofsson elevated to the top line. On Monday, a line shakeup will also see Keegan Kolesar join the top six. Kolesar is fresh off a two-point game, while Olofsson has also recently enjoyed a good offensive spell, averaging a point per game across his last five appearances.

Mark Stone Tallies Three Points In Saturday's Victory

Vegas Golden Knights right wing Mark Stone tallied a goal and two assists during Saturday's victory over the Seattle Kraken. Stone would post his first helper of the evening on a primary assist on Nicholas Hague's second goal of the season. In the third period he would tally his second assist of the evening, on another primary assist, this time on Noah Hanifin's strike. Stone would then cap off the victory with an empty-net goal. Since returning to action on December 6 due to a lower-body injury, Stone has tallied seven points (one goal, six helpers) across six games while holding a +3 rating with ten total shots. Fantasy managers should expect Stone to continue his productive scoring output playing alongside Jack Eichel on the top line.

Ilya Samsonov Starts Versus Kraken Saturday

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Ilya Samsonov will guard the crease in Saturday's matchup against Seattle. He'll make only his third appearance of the month as the Golden Knights have been riding Adin Hill's hot hand. Samsonov has also been successful in his most recent outings, winning four of five starts to improve his record for the season to 7-3-1. He has allowed 3.06 goals with a .897 save percentage. The Kraken have struggled on the road and go with Philipp Grubauer, who is 3-9-0 for the season, so Samsonov will be expected to keep Vegas on the winning path.

Nicolas Roy Misses Thursday's Game

Vegas Golden Knights forward Nicolas Roy (upper body) will miss his first game of the season on Thursday versus Vancouver. Roy has been cold offensively in recent weeks, and his season has now suffered another setback due to an upper-body injury. In 31 games, Roy has contributed six goals and seven assists. Ivan Barbashev (upper body) will also miss Thursday's action, so the Golden Knights are set to roll out a new-look offense. Cole Schwindt, who has tallied six assists in 24 outings this season, will replace Roy on the fourth line, while Pavel Dorofeyev will fill in for Barbashev on the first line. Meanwhile, Tanner Laczynski will make his season debut on the third line after being called up from the AHL, where he has been red-hot with 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) in 17 games.

Ivan Barbashev  • C  •  Golden Knights

Ivan Barbashev Unavailable Thursday

Vegas Golden Knights forward Ivan Barbashev (upper body) will be sidelined for Thursday's clash against Vancouver. Barbashev suffered an upper-body injury on Sunday versus Minnesota and hasn't been able to practice this week. The 29-year-old lands on the shelf after amassing 30 points (15 goals, 15 assists) in 31 games. With Barbashev unavailable, Pavel Dorofeyev is expected to join Jack Eichel and Mark Stone on the first line. Dorofeyev has had a decent campaign with 12 goals and 18 points in 31 appearances. He'll have additional fantasy value as long as Barbashev remains out.

Victor Olofsson  • LW  •  Golden Knights

Victor Olofsson Pots Two Goals In Sunday's Win

Vegas Golden Knights winger Victor Olofsson stole the headlines with a two-goal performance in Sunday's 3-2 win over Minnesota. He potted a power-play goal in the first period to tie the game at one and delivered the game-winning tally in an even-strength situation early in the third. Olofsson has heated up recently, scoring in three consecutive games for the first time since January 2022. Due to a lower-body injury, Olofsson has been limited to 11 appearances this season. But he's had a good scoring rate when healthy, producing seven goals and nine points. Four of the goals have come on the power-play.

Ivan Barbashev Sustains An Upper-Body Injury

Vegas Golden Knights forward Ivan Barbashev (upper body) failed to finish Sunday's contest against Minnesota. He was limited to seven shifts and 5:00 of ice time due to an upper-body injury. Barbashev has been a key cog for the Golden Knights, posting 15 goals and 30 points in 31 games on the first line. He's been particularly effective during five-on-five play, sitting fifth in the league with 29 even-strength points. Barbashev must recover by Thursday to avoid missing additional time. Victor Olofsson or Tanner Pearson might join the top six if Barbashev isn't available for the next game against Vancouver.

Adin Hill Leads The Way On Friday

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Adin Hill stopped 38 of the 40 shots he faced en route to defeating the Dallas Stars to extend their winning streak to three games on Friday. Hill's only mistakes came from a wrist shot by Mavrik Bourque in the second frame and Mason Marchment in the final frame. Hill has won each of his previous three starts and has been quite impressive as of late. Hill has only allowed three or more goals on one occasion over his previous eight starts. During this span, the 28-year-old boasts a stellar .938% SV with a 1.73 GAA and a 6-1-1 record. Overall, Hill sits with a solid 2.63 GAA, .903% SV, and a 12-4-2 record. Fantasy managers should continue to expect Hill to see the vast majority of starts in the crease going forward. He is tentatively scheduled to face the Winnipeg Jets in his next start.

Mark Stone Returns To Action Friday

Vegas Golden Knights right wing Mark Stone (lower body) will rejoin the lineup for Friday's tilt against Dallas. After returning to practice earlier in the week, Stone is finally ready to end a 14-game absence. Despite missing Stone for a month, Vegas has played well, topping the Pacific Division, but the return of the team captain should provide a further boost for the squad. Stone was off to a superb start to the season before running into another injury. He went scoreless in just one of his 13 appearances, amassing 21 points (six goals, 15 assists). Stone will be back with Jack Eichel and Ivan Barbashev on the top line and has a spot reserved on the first power-play unit.

Shea Theodore  • D  •  Golden Knights

Shea Theodore Hits Two Goals Wednesday

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Shea Theodore popped up with two goals in Wednesday's 4-1 victory at Anaheim. He recorded the game-winning goal and had an empty-netter to ice the contest. With the effort, Theodore reached 20 points (three goals, 17 assists) for the campaign with 26 games played. This puts him on pace for his first career 60-point season. Theodore already has six multi-point games in 2024-25 and heads into Friday's big clash against Dallas in hot form. Through the last eight games, Theodore has produced seven points (two goals, five assists).

Adin Hill Keeps Oilers At Bay

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Adin Hill frustrated Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night, stopping all 28 efforts that came toward his goal in a 1-0 win. Ivan Barbashev scored the lone goal of the contest in the middle of the first frame. Hill picked up his second shutout of the season. Only Winnipeg's Connor Hellebuyck (three shutouts) has stopped the opposition from scoring more often in 2024-25. The Vegas netminder was quite leaky early in the season but has now allowed two or fewer goals in six of his last seven appearances, improving his goals-against average to 2.67 and save percentage to .900. Hill's record stands at 11-4-2, and he's been particularly successful on home ice, going 7-1-0 at T-Mobile Arena.

William Karlsson  • C  •  Golden Knights

William Karlsson Back In Action Wednesday

Vegas Golden Knights center William Karlsson (personal) will re-enter the lineup on Wednesday against Colorado. He was unavailable for Monday's matchup against Philadelphia due to a personal issue. An undisclosed injury delayed Karlsson's season debut, limiting him to 13 appearances in 2024-25. He's posted four goals and 10 points. Considering his situation, Karlsson has done well, but he enters Wednesday's action on a poor run. In his last eight appearances, Karlsson has gone scoreless six times. He will likely slot back into the third line, bumping Mason Morelli out of the lineup.

Alex Pietrangelo Returns To Golden Knights Lineup

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Alex Pietrangelo (upper body) will return from a three-game absence on Wednesday against Colorado. He will take Robert Hagg's position in the lineup and should join his regular partner, Noah Hanifin, in a first defensive pairing role. Pietrangelo has had a productive campaign with 14 points (two goals, 12 assists) in 19 outings. All but one of Pietrangelo's points have come in even-strength situations. He's also registered 39 shots and 34 hits. Pietrangelo has offered good two-way value for fantasy managers and should continue to play a big role for Vegas.

Alex Pietrangelo Remains Out Saturday

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Alex Pietrangelo (upper body) will miss a second consecutive game on Saturday against Montreal. The veteran has been in fine form this season, posting 14 points (two goals, 12 assists) in 19 contests. He is ranked just outside the top 10 in the defensemen scoring list. Additionally, Pietrangelo boasts 34 blocks and 16 hits. Robert Hagg entered the lineup on Thursday against Ottawa but might have to sit again on Saturday, as Nicolas Hague (undisclosed) is close to returning and officially a game-time decision for Saturday. Pietrangelo's next chance to return comes in Monday's game against Philadelphia.

William Karlsson Amasses Three Points In Comeback Victory

Vegas Golden Knights center William Karlsson led the charge in Friday's 4-2 comeback victory against Utah. The Golden Knights fell 2-0 behind in the game but eventually came out as winners thanks to a three-goal third period. Karlsson registered two goals and an assist in the final frame. The Swedish veteran is now averaging a point per game through his first nine outings of the season. Karlsson is centering the third line, but he's hit the 19-minute mark in back-to-back games. We should see plenty of him again in Sunday's fascinating matchup against an in-form Washington.

Jack Eichel  • C  •  Golden Knights

Jack Eichel Has Two Points In Losing Effort

Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel registered a goal and an assist in Monday's 5-2 defeat to Carolina. He bagged an even-strength goal at the start of the third period and delivered a power-play assist in the final minute of play. This was Eichel's third consecutive multi-point effort. A haul of eight points in three games has pushed his season's tally to 24 points (five goals, 18 assists). Through 15 outings, Eichel has been kept off the score sheet only three times. Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon and Minnesota's Kirill Kaprizov are the only players with more points than Vegas' American star.

Mark Stone Misses A Second Consecutive Game

Vegas Golden Knights right wing Mark Stone (lower body) will remain sidelined for Monday's tilt against Carolina. The veteran star is battling a lower-body injury, sitting out a second consecutive game. Stone tends to be injury-prone, but he had skated in all 13 games this season before missing Friday's matchup against Seattle. He's been on fire, posting six goals and 15 assists. Due to Stone's absence, Nicolas Roy has been elevated to the top line. Roy produced a two-point outing on Friday and will remain a good fantasy option until Stone returns. He's on 10 points (four goals, six assists) in 14 games for the season.

Ivan Barbashev Records Three Assists Wednesday

Vegas Golden Knights forward Ivan Barbashev ended a three-game scoring slump with three assists in Wednesday's 4-2 victory over Edmonton. He had two helpers when Vegas turned a 2-1 deficit into a win in the third period. Barbashev has been part of Vegas' highly productive first line, scoring 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) in 13 games this season. Additionally, he is second on the team with 25 hits. Barbashev's scoring pace likely won't last for the entire campaign, as his shooting percentage is at a sky-high 29.2, but he's giving fantasy managers a lot of value in his current form.
