Brayden McNabb Considered Week-to-Week

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Brayden McNabb (upper body) is out week-to-week, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Vegas got star forward Jack Eichel (lower body) back for Friday's contest against the St. Louis Blues but will be without McNabb for several games. The team will mainly miss McNabb's presence in the defensive zone, as he leads Vegas with 98 blocks and is tied for third with 63 hits in 38 appearances. Offensively, McNabb has contributed two goals and one assist. Jaycob Megna replaced McNabb in the lineup on Friday.

Brayden McNabb Suffers Upper-Body Injury Wednesday

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Brayden McNabb (upper body) was forced to make an early exit against the Nashville Predators on Wednesday. He was knocked out of the lineup by an upper-body injury in the second period. The 34-year-old veteran couldn't carry on after being involved in a collision with Predators forward Michael Bunting. McNabb has been limited to three points (two goals, one assist) in 38 games and lacks fantasy appeal. However, he has been a valuable defensive contributor for the Golden Knights, recording a team-high 98 blocks and 63 hits. Vegas currently doesn't have a healthy extra defenseman on the roster, so the team must do some roster maneuvering if McNabb isn't available on Friday night versus the St. Louis Blues.

William Karlsson to Miss Olympics

Vegas Golden Knights center William Karlsson (lower body) will not be healthy enough to play for Sweden at the 2026 Olympics, TSN's Darren Dreger reports. The veteran forward has been out for nearly two months due to a lower-body injury. It was initially believed he would recover in time for the Olympics and return to the Golden Knights lineup sometime in January. Karlsson has made only 14 appearances in 2025-26, scoring four goals and seven points. Due to Karlsson's absence, Brett Howden will continue to play a larger role in the middle for Vegas for the foreseeable future.

Jack Eichel a Game-Time Decision Wednesday

Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel (lower body) is a game-time decision on Wednesday against the Nashville Predators, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. The Vegas superstar could hop back into the lineup after missing six games due to illness and a lower-body injury. Despite his recent absence, Eichel continues to lead the Golden Knights in scoring, with 41 points (12 goals, 29 assists) in 31 games. Before exiting the lineup, he was on a run of nine points (one goal, eight assists) in five games. At Tuesday's practice, Eichel was reunited with Ivan Barbashev and Braeden Bowman on the first line.

Jack Eichel to Remain Out Monday

Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel (lower body) will sit out a sixth straight game on Monday against the Minnesota Wild. Two weeks ago, the American scoring machine was sidelined due to illness, and he is currently nursing a lower-body injury. It's unclear when Eichel will rejoin the lineup, but Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy has not ruled him out for Wednesday's clash against the Nashville Predators on New Year's Eve. With Eichel out of the lineup, the fantasy value of the team's other centers has increased. Thomas Hertl is taking a five-game point streak into Monday's matchup, while Brett Howden has scored in back-to-back contests.

Jack Eichel Still Out Saturday

Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel (lower body) will miss Saturday's big matchup against the Colorado Avalanche. After recently dealing with an illness, Eichel is considered day-to-day with a lower-body injury. He will sit out a fifth consecutive contest. Despite his recent absence, Eichel has held on to his spot at the top of Vegas' scoring charts, producing an impressive 41 points (12 goals, 29 assists) in 31 appearances. Due to Eichel's absence, Alexander Holtz will hold a second-line role on Saturday. The Swedish forward will have a good opportunity to contribute against Colorado, though he remains without a point after nine games this season.

Jack Eichel Misses Fourth Straight Game

Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel (illness) will remain sidelined on Tuesday against the San Jose Sharks, missing a fourth consecutive contest. Vegas' leading scorer dropped out of the lineup last week due to an illness and remains day-to-day. His next chance to return will be on Saturday night against the Colorado Avalanche. During Eichel's absence, Mitchell Marner has worked as a center, while Tomas Hertl has seen more usage. The Czech forward has responded with a three-game point streak and will try to match his second-longest scoring streak of the season in Tuesday's meeting with his former team. It's a superb matchup for the Golden Knights against the seventh-worst defense in the NHL.

Tomas Hertl Notches Three Points Sunday

Vegas Golden Knights forward Tomas Hertl finished Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Edmonton Oilers with three points. He notched two points on the power play, including his goal. With Jack Eichel (lower body) out of the lineup, Hertl has recently had more responsibilities, coming alive offensively by posting a three-game point streak (one goal, four assists). The Czech veteran has had only two longer scoring streaks this season. Across the campaign, Hertl has registered 27 points (13 goals, 14 assists) in 34 games. Before the holiday break, he will head out one more time, facing a meeting with his former team, the San Jose Sharks, who allow 3.36 goals per game.

Shea Theodore Considered Week-to-Week

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Shea Theodore (upper body) will miss this weekend's back-to-back and is considered week-to-week. He sat out his first game of the season on Wednesday against the New Jersey Devils. With 20 points (four goals, 16 assists) in 31 games, Theodore is the runaway scoring leader among Vegas' defensemen and has 48 blocks. On Wednesday, Jeremy Lauzon hopped into the lineup as Theodore's replacement, registering one shot, one block, three hits, and two penalty minutes. Meanwhile, Noah Hanifin led the blue line in ice time with 26:07, logging 2:18 of action on the power play.

Jack Eichel to Miss at Least Two More Games

Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel (illness, lower body) has not joined the team for this weekend's back-to-back on the road against the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers. Vegas' star man has been dealing with an illness this week and also has a lower-body injury, missing his first game of the season on Wednesday night against the New Jersey Devils. With Eichel sidelined, the Golden Knights travel to Alberta without their top scorer. Eichel notched 41 points (12 goals, 29 assists) in 31 games. In his absence, Mitchell Marner is set to skate as a center, while Brandon Saad practiced on the first line on Friday.

Pavel Dorofeyev Good to Go Wednesday

Vegas Golden Knights winger Pavel Dorofeyev (undisclosed) will be in the lineup on Wednesday against the New Jersey Devils. Initially, his status was uncertain for the game after Dorofeyev left Sunday's win over Columbus early due to an unspecified injury. In Wednesday's contest, the Russian winger has a chance to tie his longest point streak of the season. He has made it on the score sheet in three consecutive games, posting two goals and one assist. Overall, Dorofeyev has managed 13 goals and 21 points in 31 outings. He is tied for third in the league with eight power-play goals and has notched 12 power-play points in total. New Jersey has a 75.8 percent penalty kill, making this a great matchup for Dorofeyev.

Shea Theodore Out Against Devils

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Shea Theodore (upper body) won't be in the lineup on Wednesday against the New Jersey Devils. He will sit out his first game of the season due to an upper-body injury. Theodore will be missed on both ends of the ice, as he is Vegas' top-scoring defenseman with 20 points (four goals, 16 assists) and ranks third on the team with 48 blocks in 31 games. Jeremy Lauzon (undisclosed) was activated from Injured Reserve on Wednesday and will enter the lineup as Theodore's replacement. However, he has a much more limited skill set than Theodore and should not be expected to make a big difference in fantasy hockey.

Jack Eichel Misses First Game of the Season Wednesday

Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel (illness) won't play on Wednesday night against the New Jersey Devils. He has been ruled out due to illness, missing his first game of the season. Eichel left Tuesday's practice early and wasn't on the ice for Wednesday's morning skate. The four-time All-Star is considered day-to-day and could rejoin the lineup for this weekend's back-to-back against Calgary and Edmonton. Brett Howden will take over as the top-line center against New Jersey, giving him additional fantasy value. Meanwhile, Reilly Smith is projected to re-enter the lineup on the fourth line.

Shea Theodore Questionable for Wednesday Night

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Shea Theodore (upper body) missed Tuesday's practice, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Vegas' defensive star has sustained an upper-body injury and could be absent from the lineup for the first time this season when the team faces the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday. In 31 outings, Theodore has posted 20 points (four goals, 16 assists) with 48 blocks. He leads all Vegas skaters in ice time at 24:01 per game, working with Noah Hanifin on the first defensive pairing and anchoring the second power-play unit. Jeremy Lauzon (undisclosed) practiced fully on Tuesday and could be Theodore's replacement in the lineup against New Jersey.

Jack Eichel Battling Illness

Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel (illness) didn't finish Tuesday's practice, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Eichel's early departure from the session leaves his status uncertain for Wednesday's contest against the New Jersey Devils. The American star is battling an illness and could miss his first game of the season. It has been a sensational year for Eichel, who is attempting to post his first 100-point season. After 31 appearances, he is sitting on 12 goals and 41 points. Currently, Eichel is riding a five-game point streak, posting multiple points four times during that stretch. Brett Howden and Tomas Hertl will have a heavy workload in the middle if Eichel can't play against the Devils.

Pavel Dorofeyev Exits Win With Injury

Vegas Golden Knights winger Pavel Dorofeyev (undisclosed) scored a power-play goal in Saturday's 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets but wasn't able to finish the game, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. The Russian forward missed the third period, logging only 11:04 of ice time. Dorofeyev is tied for the most goals on his team with 13 goals, adding eight assists across 31 appearances. Vegas will be off until Wednesday night, giving Dorofeyev a good amount of time to recover. Still, it's uncertain if that will be sufficient for him to avoid missing his first game of the season.

Mark Stone Records Two Assists in Sunday's Win

Vegas Golden Knights right wing Mark Stone enjoyed a visit to Madison Square Garden on Sunday, finishing a 3-2 overtime win against the New York Rangers with two assists. Less than one minute into the game, Stone helped Brett Howden light the lamp, and he also played a part in Tomas Hertl's game-tying goal inside the final minute of regulation. Stone has yet to go pointless in his 12 appearances this season, notching four goals and 16 assists. Only five active players have started a season with points in more consecutive games. The New York Islanders will be the next team trying to contain Stone, as the Golden Knights visit UBS Arena on Tuesday.

Carter Hart Defeats Rangers Sunday

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Carter Hart made it two wins in two games as the team beat the New York Rangers 3-2 in overtime on Sunday. Hart allowed a pair of second-period goals but had a solid performance, finishing with 21 saves. Through his first two outings with Vegas, Hart has registered a 2.32 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage. Considering he had been out of the league since 2024, it has been an impressive return from Hart, who has begun to rob starts from Akira Schmid. However, Schmid still has a role to play on the team, especially after his shutout against the New Jersey Devils on Friday.

Carter Hart Available Against Rangers Sunday

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Carter Hart (lower body) will return to the lineup on Sunday against the New York Rangers, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. He is available for selection after missing one game due to a lower-body injury. Hart made his Golden Knights debut earlier this week, defeating the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 in a shootout. He finished his first NHL outing since January 2024 with 27 saves on 30 shots. The Golden Knights haven't yet named their starter for Sunday's contest. Akira Schmid is coming off a shutout performance on Friday night against the New Jersey Devils and may remain between the sticks against a Rangers team that has gone a horrible 3-8-2 on home ice this season.

Carter Hart Day-to-Day With Lower-Body Injury

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Carter Hart (lower body) is considered day-to-day. Hart made a winning debut for the team on Tuesday, defeating the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 in a shootout, but he was unavailable for Friday's tilt against the New Jersey Devils due to a lower-body injury. Akira Schmid returned to the crease and recorded his second shutout of the season with 24 saves. Schmid had allowed 10 goals over his previous three appearances. Vegas' No. 1, Adin Hill (lower body), hasn't played since Oct. 20, and Hart might battle with Schmid for playing time for a while.
