William Karlsson Doesn't Skate, Expected To Play Game 3
Vegas Golden Knights center William Karlsson didn't participate in Saturday's morning skate but head coach Bruce Cassidy is anticipating that the Swede will still suit up for Game 3 against the Dallas Stars Saturday night. The nature of any ailment is unknown but Karlsson skated just 13:31 in the team's 3-1 Game 2 win on Wednesday. The 31-year-old enjoyed a productive regular season, notching 30 goals and 60 points on 175 shots across 70 games, going plus-15 in the process. It was his second-highest goal and point total of his career behind his 43-goal, 78-point campaign in the 2017-18 campaign, the first season of Vegas' existence.
Vegas Golden Knights center William Karlsson (lower body) is set to skate on the third line as he makes his comeback on Tuesday versus Edmonton. The Swedish forward hasn't played since Jan. 1, sitting out 12 games. Karlsson's presence will give a boost to his linemates, Michael Amadio and Jonas Rondbjerg. He should also take up a spot on the first power-play unit. In 38 outings this season, Karlsson has collected 15 goals and 17 assists, logging 11 of his 32 points with the mad advantage.
William Karlsson Activated From Long-Term Injured Reserve
Vegas Golden Knights center William Karlsson (lower body) has been activated from long-term Injured Reserve. It's a strong signal that Karlsson will return to the Golden Knights lineup once the team continues its season following the All-Star break on Feb. 5 against the red-hot Oilers. Karlsson missed a 12th consecutive game Saturday versus Detroit. He's had a good season with 15 goals and 32 points in 38 games, and Karlsson should play a pivotal role for the Golden Knights once he's back.
William Karlsson Expected Back After All-Star Break
Vegas Golden Knights center William Karlsson (lower body) is expected to return to the lineup following the All-Star break. This means he'll be out for at least five more games, with Vegas set to restart its season following the break on Feb. 6. Karlsson has been in good form throughout the season with 32 points (15 goals, 17 assists) in 38 games. He should be penciled in for a big role when he's back healthy again, as Jack Eichel (knee) is not expected to return before mid-February.
Vegas Golden Knights center William Karlsson (lower body) is considered week-to-week by the team. He was initially ruled out for two games, but it's now clear that Karlsson's absence will extend beyond that. The Swedish centerman has returned to form this season and sits third on the team's scoring list with 32 points (15 goals, 17 assists) in 38 games. Chandler Stephenson and Nicolas Roy have seen heavier usage in the past couple of games without Karlsson. The latter had one of his best games of the season on Saturday with a two-goal effort in a 5-2 win over the Islanders.
Vegas Golden Knights forward William Karlsson (lower body) will not play in either of the team's next two games, which are scheduled for Thursday and Saturday. Karlsson is dealing with a nagging lower-body injury and the team has decided to give him some time to recover. Karlsson is having a very solid season, racking up 32 points (15 goals, 17 assists) in 38 games thus far. In his absence, expect Nicholas Roy to move up to Karlsson's spot on the third line while any of Roy, Chandler Stephenson, or Ivan Barbashev could fill in on the top powerplay unit. Keep an eye on lines tomorrow, as whoever replaces Karlsson has some streamer value.
William Karlsson Registers Game-Winner Against Kings
Vegas Golden Knights center William Karlsson finished with the game-winning goal in Thursday's 3-2 victory over L.A., hitting his 15th tally of the year with 5:18 to go in the second period. The Swedish centerman already surpassed his goals total from the previous three years, although it's his first game-winner of the campaign. Karlsson is enjoying a very good season, with only Jack Eichel (50) and Mark Stone (37) having more points than him (32) on the Vegas roster.
William Karlsson Tallies Three Points As Vegas Eliminates Dallas
Vegas Golden Knights forward William Karlsson led the offense with two goals and one assist as the team booked its ticket in the 2023 Stanley Cup Finals with a 6-0 victory over Dallas. After William Carrier had opened the scoring only a few minutes into the game, Karlsson produced a power-play goal in the middle of the first frame and he had his second marker in an even-strength situation early in the third. The Swedish forward reached 10 goals for the 2023 postseason and now owns the franchise record for most goals scored in a single playoff campaign. Karlsson's work also included four assists across 17 postseason appearances this year.
William Karlsson Matches Vegas Record With Eighth Postseason Goal
Vegas Golden Knights forward William Karlsson scored his eighth postseason goal of the year in Thursday's Game 4 loss to Dallas, matching a franchise record. Jonathan Marchessault and Alex Tuch were previously the only players to achieve it for the Golden Knights in a playoff year. Marchessault did it for a second time Thursday. Three of Karlsson's goals have come in the Western Conference Finals series. He has also bagged three assists during the team's postseason run, centering the second line and the second power-play unit.
William Karlsson Scores Twice In Friday's Game 1 Win
Vegas Golden Knights forward William Karlsson scored two goals as the team beat Dallas 4-3 in overtime in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals Friday. Karlsson netted Vegas' first two goals before handing the baton over to Teddy Blueger and Brett Howden. The Swedish forward has now scored in back-to-back games and will be looking to stretch his point streak to four games on Sunday. Karlsson paces the Golden Knights with seven goals this postseason and has amassed 10 points in 12 games.
Vegas Golden Knights forward William Karlsson finished Sunday's 7-2 blowout win against Anaheim with two assists. He set up Shea Theodore and Michael Amadio when Vegas blew away the Ducks with a five-goal effort in the third period. Karlsson played for exactly 14 minutes and had two shots on goal himself while compiling a plus-two rating for the game. The Swedish forward has recorded the second-most multi-point games in franchise history and added to his tally here, while moving to 26 assists and 37 points for the year. Karlsson is working well on Vegas' second line and has been enjoying one of his best spells of the season lately with six points in seven games.
Vegas Golden Knights center William Karlsson scored the first of two Vegas goals 33 seconds apart in the third period. That helped spearhead the Golden Knights to a 5-3 win on Thursday night in New Jersey. Karlsson also added an empty-net helper late in the game as well. The center had gotten off to a slow start even by his standards with just two goals and five points in 13 games. He still has difficulty generating scoring chances and has just 24 shots on goal in 14 games. However, he is up to three goals and four assists on the season. With four points in his last five contests, maybe Karlsson is finally back in good form.
William Karlsson Snaps Goal Drought in Rout of Anaheim
Vegas Golden Knights forward William Karlsson picked up his 11th goal of the season, and first in the last two weeks, on Friday night as Vegas overwhelmed Anaheim in a decisive 4-0 victory. Despite scoring and leading all Vegas forwards with 20:01 minutes of ice time in a game where the Golden Knights lobbed 51 shots on Anaheim's John Gibson, Karlsson only recorded a single shot. It is the third time in his last six games that Karlsson has only picked up one shot on net, which has been a trend this season, as Karlsson is posting his worst shots per game rate this season (1.93 shots) since joining Vegas in 2017. Playing on a talented Vegas roster will buoy his fantasy value, but Karlsson is no longer the roster-locked type of player he was a few years ago.
Mark Stone, William Karlsson Combine For Six Points
Vegas Golden Knights right wing Mark Stone and center William Karlsson each had three points in Monday's 5-1 victory over St. Louis. Stone picked up two goals and one assist, while Karlsson produced one goal and two assists. Vegas' offense flowed nicely even with Max Pacioretty (lower body) missing a second consecutive game. Stone is among the hottest forwards in the league this month with 21 points in 12 games. The team needs him to keep up the form with Pacioretty out of the lineup as a tough two-game set against Colorado is coming up. Stone has only one point in four outings against the Avalanche this season. Karlsson has enjoyed much more success in the matchup with four points.
Vegas Gold Knights center William Karlsson helped lead his team to victory on Friday, beating the Los Angeles Kings by a score of 5-2. Karlsson had a helper in the first period and two more points in the second period. The 28-year-old's goal was his third on the season. He now has three goals and three assists through eight games. Karlsson is a very consistent under-the-radar player. He is a nice second or third center option for fantasy managers. Vegas played particularly well despite the team being off the ice since Jan. 26 due to a COVID-19 outbreak within the organization. Vegas and Los Angeles meet again on Sunday.
