Tomas Hertl Expected To Make Golden Knights Debut Monday

Vegas Golden Knights center Tomas Hertl (knee) will make his team debut when the Golden Knights take on the Vancouver Canucks on Monday night on the road. The veteran underwent surgery on his left knee to clean up loose cartilage and was acquired in a blockbuster trade from the San Jose Sharks just minutes prior to the March 8 NHL trade deadline. The 30-year-old has registered 15 goals and 34 points across 48 games this season, all with the Sharks. He is likely to skate on the left wing of Chandler Stephenson on the team's second line on Monday. The Golden Knights sit in the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference but are also just one point back of the Los Angeles Kings for third in the Pacific Division with one game in hand.

Tomas Hertl Won't Play Friday

Vegas Golden Knights center Tomas Hertl (knee) is nearing a return to action but will not be in the lineup for Friday's road game against the Arizona Coyotes. The veteran is back to practicing with the team in a regular jersey after initially skating on his own after he underwent knee surgery to replace loose cartilage on Feb. 12 while still a member of the San Jose Sharks. Hertl was acquired in a March 8 blockbuster trade from the Sharks. The 30-year-old has recorded 15 goals and 34 points on 113 shots on goal across 48 games this season, all with the Sharks. The Golden Knights enter Friday's action sitting third in the Pacific Division with a 42-25-8 record, three points back of the second-place Oilers, but also just a single point ahead of the fourth-place Kings while holding a game in hand.

Tomas Hertl Not Making Expected Debut Friday

Vegas forward Tomas Hertl (knee) will not make his debut with the team on Friday. It appeared as though Hertl was on track for a Friday return from his knee issue after taking part in morning skates, but head coach Bruce Cassidy said he is not quite ready. An update on his status should come out soon and he is likely to be slotted into the lineup at some point soon if everything is progressing well. Hertl had 34 points (15 goals, 19 assists) in 48 games with the San Jose Sharks this year prior to the trade, and will become a top-six option for the Golden Knights in the playoffs.

Tomas Hertl Nearing Return

Vegas Golden Knights forward Tomas Hertl (knee) was skating in a regular jersey during practice on Tuesday and could return Friday. Head coach Bruce Cassidy ruled Hertl out for Tuesday's game, but his regular jersey debut points to a return soon. Vegas will want to get the trade deadline acquisition into the lineup for the last part of the regular season to smooth out the transition process. He should be a member of the top six and get good powerplay time, making him a good add for the final few weeks if your league runs through the whole regular season.

Tomas Hertl Practices With Vegas For First Time Monday

Vegas Golden Knights forward Tomas Hertl practiced for the first time with the team since being acquired from the San Jose Sharks at the trade deadline. The veteran skated in a non-contact jersey. Hertl has been skating on his own after he decided to clean out loose cartilage in his left knee, a procedure that took place on Feb. 12. "It's important for him to get around his teammates and that type of environment," Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said after practice Monday. "He's been skating on his own here a little bit while we were away. I think it's great for him to start interacting, see what it looks like, how we practice." Hertl tallied 15 goals and 34 points across 48 games with the Sharks this season.

Tomas Hertl Wishes To Be Back With Vegas In Two Weeks

Newly acquired center Tomas Hertl said he hopes to be back with the Vegas Golden Knights in about two weeks. The former Sharks pivot was surprisingly acquired by the Golden Knights on Friday in exchange for forward David Edstrom and a first-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. Hertl sustained a knee injury while with the Sharks and underwent surgery to clean out loose cartilage in his left knee on Feb. 12. "I will slowly get back on the ice," Hertl said. I'm just making sure I don't do anything, like, extra, so I'm 100 percent. Hopefully, over like the next week or so, we will figure out more." Hertl has tallied 15 goals and 34 points on the season but should see an uptick in production on a Vegas club sporting a much superior offense to that of the San Jose Sharks.

Tomas Hertl Traded To Golden Knights

The Vegas Golden Knights have acquired center Tomas Hertl (knee) from the San Jose Sharks. The team gave up its 2025 first-round pick and prospect forward David Edstrom in a deal to get him while also receiving a 2025 third-round pick and a 2027 third-round pick from the Sharks. San Jose retains 17 percent of Hertl's salary as part of the trade. Hertl, a 17th pick by the Sharks in 2012, moves on from San Jose after representing the team in 712 regular-season contests. He had 218 goals and 484 points with the Sharks, including 34 points (15 goals, 19 assists) in 48 appearances in 2023-24. Hertl hasn't played since the All-Star break due to a knee injury, and it's unclear when he will be ready to return, but he's a big addition for the defending champions, and his numbers should get a boost now that he's playing on a much better team.

Tomas Hertl Out For Several Weeks After Having Knee Surgery

San Jose Sharks center Tomas Hertl won't be available for "several weeks" after having knee surgery, the team announced on Monday. He had his left knee cleaned to remove loose cartilage. The news came after Hertl had sat out two games, although he took part in the All-Star Game at the start of the month. The Czech star has been the leading scorer for the goal-shy Sharks in 2023-24, posting 34 points (15 goals, 19 assists) in 48 games. William Eklund should have a very prominent role to play during his absence, particularly with Logan Couture (groin) also unavailable.

Tomas Hertl To Remain Out On Wednesday

San Jose Sharks center Tomas Hertl (lower body) will sit out a second consecutive game on Wednesday versus Anaheim. After picking up a lower-body injury against Buffalo at the weekend, Hertl hoped to play Tuesday versus Seattle but wasn't in the lineup and will also skip Wednesday's game. William Eklund was moved to center on Tuesday to compensate for Hertl's absence. He had a good game with two assists and should be one of San Jose's biggest threats against the Ducks again.

Tomas Hertl Out Tuesday Versus Kraken

San Jose Sharks center Tomas Hertl (lower body) will not dress for Tuesday's contest versus the visiting Seattle Kraken. The veteran temporarily left Saturday's game against the Sabres but did return in the third period to complete the contest. However, he took Monday's practice off, will not play Tuesday, and is listed as questionable for the second half of a back-to-back Wednesday in Anaheim. Considering how poor the Sharks' offense has been, Hertl's 15 goals and 34 points in 48 games this season can be considered a success. However, he doesn't shoot the puck much with just 113 shots on the season, and his minus-26 rating is a major killer for fantasy managers and is tied for the second-worst mark in the NHL. He could be moved prior to the trade deadline, a factor prospective fantasy managers will want to keep an eye on.

Tomas Hertl Misses Practice, Could Be Out On Tuesday

San Jose Sharks center Tomas Hertl (undisclosed) missed Monday's practice and might also have to skip Tuesday's clash with Seattle. He was injured in the last game against Buffalo and missed a bit of time. Hertl doesn't expect the injury to keep him out from the All-Star weekend. The Sharks star had a three-game point streak cut in the match against Buffalo. He's on 15 goals and 34 points for the year in 48 games. William Eklund is set for a center role on Tuesday if Hertl can't play.

Tomas Hertl Posts Sixth Career Hat Trick

San Jose Sharks center Tomas Hertl scored his sixth career hat trick as the team battled out only its seventh victory of the season on Tuesday, beating the Islanders 5-4 in overtime. Hertl completed his hat trick late in regulation with two goals that helped San Jose take the game into the extra frame. It's been a very bumpy ride for the talented Czech forward on the Sharks team this season, but he's found some great form lately with a nine-point effort across six games. In total, Hertl has tallied 21 points (seven goals, 14 assists) in 25 games, which is almost as many as the next two best forwards on the team -- Mikael Granlund and William Eklund -- have managed together (25).

Tomas Hertl Out On Monday

San Jose Sharks center Tomas Hertl will sit out Monday's game against Washington with a mid-body injury. The Czech star heads on the shelf following a pair of multi-point games. With the team struggling massively, Hertl has been limited to four goals and 12 assists in 21 appearances this season. No other Shark has managed more than eight points, which shows how important Hertl is for the team. However, they will have to cope without him on Monday. Luke Kunin is expected to replace Hertl as the top-line center.

Tomas Hertl Available Again Thursday

San Jose Sharks center Tomas Hertl (personal) will be back in action Thursday against Nashville. He missed Monday's 4-0 win over Seattle as Hertl and his wife welcomed their second child to the family. Hertl has posted 15 goals and 32 assists in 55 this season, and his return will bump Nick Bonino back down to the third line. The Czech forward is one of the most consistent scorers on the Sharks team and should be rostered in most fantasy leagues.

Tomas Hertl Enjoys A Multi-Point Outing Versus Washington

San Jose Sharks center Tomas Hertl had a goal and an assist in Sunday's impressive 4-1 road win against Washington. He picked up his helper when Alexander Barabanov scored the game-winning goal on the power play and Hertl lit the lamp himself late in the game when the Capitals net was empty. The 29-year-old posted his 15th goal of the campaign and has totaled 47 points overall in 52 games. Hertl has been among San Jose's top scorers for several years, and he's gladly doing the dirty work as well, having registered 59 hits and 41 blocks this season.

Tomas Hertl Has A Three-Point Night Thursday

San Jose Sharks center Tomas Hertl factored in all of the team's goals in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to Philadelphia, scoring twice and recording one assist. He helped the team to grab a 3-1 lead, but the Flyers found a way to extend the game and eventually won it. Hertl reached three points in a game for the second this season and his campaign includes 11 multi-point performances in total, which have allowed him to enjoy a productive year with 35 points in 35 games. Hertl has never been a point-per-game player across a whole season, so he should be very motivated to maintain his current scoring rate for the rest of the campaign.

Tomas Hertl Suspended For Two Games

San Jose Sharks center Tomas Hertl will have to skip two games due to a suspension, starting with Tuesday's matchup against Calgary. He received the punishment for his actions also in a game against Calgary at the weekend, hitting Flames star Elian Lindholm in the face with his stick when the two got into an altercation at the start of the third period. Hertl, who has posted 11 goals and 21 assists in 33 games, will be eligible again after the holiday break, on Dec. 27 versus Vancouver. Until then, Logan Couture should take over the first-line center position and Nico Sturm could get a chance to join the top six.

Tomas Hertl Continues To Collect Points In Bunches

San Jose Sharks center Tomas Hertl had his fourth multi-point outing in six games on Friday against the Ducks, posting two assists in a 6-1 win. He helped the team grab a 4-0 lead, with one of Hertl's helpers coming on the power play. The talented centerman has now delivered multiple assists in back-to-back games. Hertl opened the campaign with only one point in five appearances, but he's been steadily improving and has now gotten close to averaging a point a night. With 30 games played, Hertl is on nine goals and 20 assists. It's looking like another lost season for the Sharks, but Hertl is still performing at a high level and he's even managed to keep his plus/minus rating reasonable, as he currently sits on minus-one.

Tomas Hertl Ups Point Streak To Eight Games In Overtime Win

San Jose Sharks center Tomas Hertl is on some kind of run. Just when it looked like the Philadelphia Flyers might force a shootout, Hertl delivered in the waning seconds of overtime with help from Erik Karlsson. Karlsson set up the play and Hertl finished it as San Jose won 3-2. The San Jose center had two points on the night. Besides the game winning goal, he set up a trademark Brent Burns blast for San Jose's second goal. Hertl now has 16 goals and 25 points in 32 games. The streak has seen Hertl tally 12 points in his last eight contests and makes him a must add if he is available in fantasy leagues.

Tomas Hertl Expected To Play Tuesday For San Jose

San Jose Sharks center Tomas Hertl is expected to play Tuesday versus the Arizona Coyotes. The forward last played on Dec. 16 against the Vancouver Canucks when he was enjoying an excellent point streak. His run featured nine points and six goals in the previous six games. That brought Hertl's totals up to 14 goals and 22 points in 30 games this season. Again, expect the center to be back in his usual top-line deployment on the power play and at even strength on Tuesday at home.
