Nashville Predators defenseman Jeremy Lauzon (lower body) will not return to play in 2024-25. The physical rearguard has yet to see any action in 2025 after suffering a lower-body injury, and the team has announced that Lauzon will be sidelined for 4-6 months. The 27-year-old, who set an NHL single-season record with 383 hits last season, finished the 2024-25 campaign with one assist and 127 hits over 28 games. Based on the announced timeline, Lauzon should be ready for the start of training camp next season.
Nashville Predators defenseman Jeremy Lauzon is out week to week with a lower-body injury. It's unclear when the blueliner suffered the injury as he skated 20:14 in a 4-1 win over the Seattle Kraken on Saturday. He has already notched career highs with six goals and 13 points on the season in 68 games but Lauzon's 327 hits are easily the most in the NHL, 59 more than second-place Garnet Hathaway. Mark Del Gaizo will take Lauzon's spot in the Predators lineup beginning Tuesday night versus the visiting San Jose Sharks. The Predators currently sit in the top Wild Card spot in the Western Conference with a 39-25-4 record.
Jeremy Lauzon Surprises With First Goal Of Season Wednesday
Seattle Kraken defenseman Jeremy Lauzon is not known for scoring goals. In 101 career NHL games, Lauzon had scored just three times. It is why Wednesday was such a shock to some. The defenseman had three shots on goal and several scoring chances in the overtime loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. Furthermore, his goal gave Seattle a very brief 15 second lead during the third period. Typically, Lauzon averages about a shot a game on goal. The defenseman played 19:36 on Wednesday and registered a point for the second consecutive game. This type of production is rare for Lauzon so do not expect it to continue.
Jeremy Lauzon Becomes First Pick For Seattle In Expansion Draft
Boston Bruins defenseman Jeremy Lauzon was selected first overall for Seattle in the team's expansion draft Wednesday. Lauzon is an excellent skater and has all the tools to be an outstanding player in the league. He has spent his young career all with Boston playing in 76 regular-season games. At 24 years old, Lauzon has produced one goal and seven assists. In addition, he blocked several shots for Boston in 2021, blocking 53 opponents' shots in 41 contests. With the opportunity to play for a new franchise, Lauzon has more of a chance to develop than he would in Boston. Fantasy managers look for Lauzon to be a productive defenseman as his career progresses.
