Diamondbacks
The Arizona Diamondbacks signed infielder Connor Kaiser and catcher Aramis Garcia to minor-league deals on Friday that include invitations to major-league spring training next year. Kaiser spent all of last season at Triple-A Albuquerque in the Colorado Rockies' system, slashing a weak .222/.343/.339 with a .682 OPS, six home runs, 28 RBI and five stolen bases in 90 games. He made his major-league debut with the Rockies in 2023 but played in only three games and was hitless in his four trips to the plate. Garcia hit just .159/.216/.279 with eight home runs, 25 RBI and six steals in 76 games with Triple-A Lehigh Valley in the Philadelphia Phillies' organization. The 31-year-old backstop has more big-league experience than Kaiser, as he's played in 119 games over five seasons with four different teams. Both Kaiser and Garcia are likely to start at Triple-A Reno in 2025.

Aramis Garcia Outrighted To Triple-A
The Baltimore Orioles outrighted catcher Aramis Garcia to Triple-A Norfolk on Monday and reinstated right-hander Chris Ellis (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list and outrighted him to Norfolk. Garcia joined Baltimore's roster at the end of the regular season when he was claimed off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds. In 47 games with the Reds in 2022, Garcia slashed .213/.248/.259 with a homer, four RBI, six runs scored and 34 strikeouts in 115 plate appearances. Ellis made just two starts with the Orioles this year and allowed five earned runs on five hits while walking six and striking out two over just 4 1/3 innings pitched. The 30-year-old had season-ending shoulder surgery in May, and it's unknown if he'll be ready for spring training next year.

Aramis Garcia Collects Two Hits, Drives In Two
Oakland Athletics catcher Aramis Garcia went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in a win over the Giants on Sunday. Garcia also caught a brilliant game from starter Cole Irvin as he's been solid as the backup catcher to Sean Murphy. It was a nice game for the 28-year-old backstop, but he's still batting just .233 with a .263 on-base percentage while serving a backup role. He's not someone to roster in fantasy.

Aramis Garcia Named Backup Catcher For Oakland
Oakland Athletics catcher Aramis Garcia was informed that he will be the backup catcher to start the season, Shayna Rubin of the Mercury News reports Saturday. Garcia has had a solid spring, slashing .333/.440/.476 with three doubles and a 10:4 K:BB rate in 11 games. He will be backing up Sean Murphy, who hit .233 with seven home runs and an .821 OPS last season. Garcia has shown the potential to be a 15 to 20-home run threat in the minors, and could be an interesting option to target in deep, two-catcher leagues.

Aramis Garcia Optioned, Buster Posey Expected Back Friday
The San Francisco Giants optioned catcher Aramis Garcia back to Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday, meaning Buster Posey (concussion) is expected to return from the concussion injured list on Friday. The 32-year-old Posey isn't an elite offensive player like he was in his prime, but he's still valuable in single-catcher leagues with his .245/.308/.406 slash line, two home runs and 13 RBI in 32 games this year. Get ready to throw him back into your lineups on Friday if he's indeed back in San Fran's starting lineup.
