Bryce Eldridge to Begin Season at Triple-A?

San Francisco Giants first base prospect Bryce Eldridge has been in camp hoping to be a part of the team's Opening Day roster, but the Giants' top-ranked prospect could very well end up starting the year at Triple-A Sacramento. Giants manager Tony Vitello stated Monday that development is the most important thing for the 6-foot-7 slugger, and when asked if Eldridge would develop in San Francisco or Sacramento, the Giants' skipper said, "maybe see where it goes the last couple weeks of spring training." The former first-round draft pick made his big league debut in 2025, and while there is big-time power in his bat, there is a lot of swing-and-miss as well, registering a 30.8 percent K% in 66 games at Triple-A last year. So far this spring, the left-handed hitter has a 32.3 percent K% in 31 plate appearances, so perhaps the Giants want to see some improvement there before making him their designated hitter for the 2026 season. The 21-year-old is going undrafted in most fantasy leagues, but for power-needy managers, Eldridge is worth keeping an eye on as he could provide some pop despite the contact issues.

Bryce Eldridge Performing Well in Cactus League

San Francisco Giants first base prospect Bryce Eldridge has looked quite strong during his first taste of spring training and is carrying some solid momentum into his first full MLB season. Through nine games in camp, the team's top hitting prospect has posted a .263/.391/.579 slash line with three doubles, a home run, and a 7:3 K:BB. Last summer, the Giants provided the slugging first baseman with a short 10-game stint in San Francisco, and he struggled, posting a low .107 AVG with a .476 OPS. However, during this small taste, Eldridge generated a new. 362 xwOBA, suggesting his results should have been far more impressive. Through 66 games at Triple-A, Eldridge held a .249/.322/.514 line with 18 lone balls. The former 16th overall pick is a strong selection in the final rounds as a deep-league corner infielder, as he should see nearly every day at-bats sharing first base and the DH spot with Rafael Devers.

Bryce Eldridge Getting Work in Left Field

San Francisco Giants first baseman Bryce Eldridge took fly balls in left field at spring training on Wednesday, according to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports. Manager Tony Vitello wants to get Eldridge work in the outfield just in case. The 21-year-old played some outfield in the minors after getting drafted, so it's not completely foreign to him. However, he only played 26 games in right field back in 2023 in the Arizona Complex League and at Single-A San Jose. Adding some positional versatility for Eldridge makes sense, considering he'll mostly be rotating between first base and designated hitter in 2026 with Rafael Devers. The 6-foot-7 left-handed slugger has recovered from left-wrist surgery to remove bone spurs at the end of last year, and he'll provide immense power in the Bay Area. Eldridge didn't hit a homer in 10 games in his MLB debut last September, but he displayed his power stroke with an .843 OPS and 25 homers in 102 minor-league games before that. Strikeouts are a part of his profile, but the power is real, and he should add first base eligibility in 2026.

Bryce Eldridge a Full-Go for Spring Training

San Francisco Giants first base prospect Bryce Eldridge (wrist) said he's a full-go for spring training after having left-wrist surgery in October of last year to remove a bone spur, according to Justice delos Santos of MLB.com. Eldridge initially injured his wrist in spring training last year and played through the injury for several months before eventually being shut down. The 21-year-old former 16th overall pick in 2023 hit a combined .260/.333/.510 with an .843 OPS, 25 home runs, and 84 RBI in 102 games at three-minor league levels last year despite playing through his wrist injury. During a brief MLB debut, the left-handed hitter went just 3-for-28 (.107) with no homers, seven walks, and 13 strikeouts. Between first base and designated hitter, Eldridge should be a regular for the Giants in 2026, and his plus raw power makes him attractive in all fantasy leagues. Eldridge is RotoBaller's No. 37 first baseman.

Bryce Eldridge Expected to Break Camp with MLB Roster?

San Francisco Giants first base prospect Bryce Eldridge will be in a good position to break camp with the MLB roster. The team's top prospect received a brief 10-game stint in the majors late last season. While he only posted a low .107/.297/.179 line during this stretch, he generated a strong .362 xwOBA, suggesting he is due for significant positive regression during his second stint. He began the campaign with Double-A and needed only 34 contests to prove he was ready to join Triple-A Sacramento. With Sacramento, Eldridge posted a .249/.322/.514 line with an .836 OPS, 13 doubles, 18 home runs, and an 88:28 K:BB. In the offseason, he underwent wrist surgery but is not expected to be limited during camp. Currently, Eldridge is expected to serve as a first baseman/designated hitter for the Giants, sharing time with Rafael Devers. He is a name to monitor in camp, as he could push for a full-time role early this season.

Bryce Eldridge to Undergo Wrist Surgery

San Francisco Giants first base prospect Bryce Eldridge (wrist) will undergo surgery to remove a bone spur from his left wrist on Thursday. The 6-foot-7, 240-pound slugger will need about eight weeks to recover, meaning the procedure shouldn't affect his availability for the start of the 2026 season. A first-round pick in 2023 and now one of baseball's best prospects, Eldridge earned his first promotion to the majors in mid-September. The 20-year-old slumped to a .107/.297/.179 line with four RBI, 13 strikeouts, and seven walks over a minuscule sample of 10 games and 36 plate appearances. He slashed a much more impressive .260/.333/.510 with 25 home runs over a combined 433 plate appearances among three minor-league levels in 2025. While it remains to be seen if Eldridge will begin next season in the majors, the Giants are optimistic that he'll be a long-term cornerstone in their lineup.

Giants to Promote Bryce Eldridge

The San Francisco Giants are set to promote first baseman Bryce Eldridge from Triple-A Sacramento, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The Giants used a first-round pick in 2023 on Eldridge, who is now widely considered one of the top 20 prospects in the sport. Since the Giants bumped Eldrige to Triple-A at the beginning of June, the 6-foot-7, 240-pounder has slashed .249/.322/.514 with 18 home runs, 63 RBI, and a 30.8% strikeout rate in 286 plate appearances. San Francisco wasn't planning to call up Eldridge this year, but the team's circumstances have changed in recent weeks. The Giants have unexpectedly made a late charge into wild-card contention, and first baseman Dominic Smith (hamstring) may miss the rest of the regular season after suffering a hamstring strain over the weekend. The Smith injury will open the door for the 20-year-old Eldridge to get playing time at first base and/or DH, depending on where the Giants deploy Rafael Devers. As a left-handed hitter, Eldridge could platoon with the righty-swinging Wilmer Flores over the next couple of weeks.

Bryce Eldridge Clubs 470-Foot Homer on Thursday

San Francisco Giants first base prospect Bryce Eldridge went 2-for-6 with a two-run homer in a 21-7 slugfest win against Triple-A Reno. Eldridge got the scoring started with a 470-foot moonshot to right field in the first inning before Triple-A Sacramento broke out for 13 runs in the top of the third. The 20-year-old is up to 23 homers across multiple levels on the season, and hasn't seen a big production dip in his transition to Triple-A. The strikeout rate has crept up a bit to north of 30 percent, but he is still hitting for as much power. The lefty hitter will need to continue to get acclimated to same-handed pitching, as he has a .289 OBP against them this year. However, Edridge has elite raw power and figures to be in consideration for a late-season promotion if he continues to hit.

Bryce Eldridge Extends Power Surge on Tuesday

San Francisco Giants first base prospect Bryce Eldridge went 2-for-5 with a double and a home run during their contest against Triple-A Reno on Tuesday evening. This was Eldridge's third long ball over his last six contests. Since August 16 (the last nine games), the top-ranked prospect in the Bay Area has been swinging a hot bat, posting a strong .270/.341/.622 line with a .963 OPS. Throughout 50 total games with Triple-A Sacramento this season, the former 16th overall pick from the 2023 MLB Draft has struggled at times, holding a .237/.305/.516 line. However, he appears to have turned the corner and is making a strong case to join the MLB level. Given his recent power surge, fantasy managers in 12+ team formats should consider stashing Eldridge over the final month of the season.

Bryce Eldridge Goes Deep Thursday

San Francisco Giants first base prospect Bryce Eldridge went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI against Triple-A El Paso. Eldridge had an impressive night at the plate, drawing a walk and making hard contact in every trip. He singled in the first at 112.5 mph, lined out at 106 mph, and later crushed a two-run homer at 111 mph. He's enjoyed a productive August overall, hitting .273/.355/.621 with seven homers and a 9:26 BB:K in 66 at-bats. The Giants' top prospect is still striking out over 30 percent on the season at Triple-A, but the quality of contact is very encouraging with a 57.3 percent hard-hit rate. The slugger has elite raw power, doesn't chase too much, and has always had above-average walk rates across his time in the minors. The 20-year-old has big-time power potential and should be highly regarded in dynasty leagues.
