Cam Bedrosian Rejoins Active Roster Monday

Los Angeles Angels right-handed pitcher Cam Bedrosian was activated off of the injured list Monday, rejoining the clubs much-maligned bullpen. Bedrosian hit the IL on Aug. 4 due to a strained right adductor, having allowed just one run through his first 4 frames. While Ty Buttrey has taken over closer duties as of late, Bedrosian has recorded a save in each of the past four seasons. Until the teams save opportunities are more clearly defined, Bedrosian can remain on the wire.

Cam Bedrosian Still Without Timetable For Return

Los Angeles Angels right-handed pitcher Cam Bedrosian has been out of the mix since Aug. 3 due to a right adductor strain, and per manager Joe Maddon, Bedrosian is still not 100 percent, which leaves him without a timetable for when he could rejoin the club. Bedrosian presumably would be in the conversation for the closers role if he was at full strength, having twirled 4 innings thus far this year with just one run allowed. The righty has notched a save in each of the last four seasons, so if he is cleared, owners may want to scoop him off the wire. For now, the Angels bullpen remains in flux as they have converted just three of nine save chances.

Cam Bedrosian To Serve As Opener Monday Against Cubs

Los Angeles Angels pitcher Cam Bedrosian will serve as opener Monday when the Angels play a quick one-game series against the Cubs. He will open the game for teammate Trevor Cahill, who has posted an 8.22 ERA over his last five starts. The Angels have seen some positive results using an opener in front of Felix Pena this season and the hope is this could jump-start a quality start from Cahill. Bedrosian has allowed two runs in 4 2/3 innings as an opener this season and in 26 total appearances this season will come into the game with a 3.08 ERA.

Cam Bedrosian Opening Tuesday, Nick Tropeano To Follow

The Los Angeles Angels are starting Cam Bedrosian as the team's opener for Tuesday night's game versus the Athletics, and called up Nick Tropeano who will take over likely in the second inning. Entering in relief gives Tropeano a better shot at a victory as he won't have to throw five full innings to earn a win, but he should be avoided in DFS and as a streamer in season-long leagues. He has a 7.66 ERA and 1.66 WHIP in five starts at Triple-A and is nothing more than an innings eater for this game. Tropeano is also recovering from a shoulder injury, so don't expect him to make a significant impact tonight.

Cam Bedrosian Gets Save Opportunity, Blows it

The Los Angeles Angels gave Cam Bedrosian the first shot at the closer's role on Tuesday after Keynan Middleton went on the disabled list with elbow inflammation. Bedrosian did not handle it well, giving up two runs and blowing the save in his one inning of work. He came away with the win after the Angels walked it off in the ninth, but this was not an inspiring outing for Bedrosian. Expect some combination of him, Jim Johnson, Blake Parker and Justin Anderson to close for the next few days. However, Middleton expects his DL stint to be a short one, so it may not be worth adding anyone from this bullpen in the interim unless you're really desperate for saves.

Cam Bedrosian Steals Save for Angels

Los Angeles Angels reliever Cam Bedrosian nailed down the save in Tuesday's 8-7 win over the Houston Astros. Bedrosian was almost certainly called upon because Keynan Middleton was unavailable after pitching multiple games in a row. This is a good indication that Bedrosian is next in line, but Middleton has been given every save opportunity lately and looks to have the ninth-inning role on lockdown.

Cam Bedrosian's Velocity Drop a Concern

Los Angeles Angels reliever Cam Bedrosian conceded that something is wrong, leading to his decrease in velocity. I feel fine physically, Bedrosian said Tuesday. My velocity is still not exactly where I want it to be. I think it may be mechanical. Were working on a couple things right now. Bedrosian sits around 93 mph currently after averaging nearly 96 the last few years. Bedrosian's drop in velocity likely explains why he is not in the mix for saves in LA at the moment. He is not worth owning except in deep hold leagues for now. However, if he corrects his mechanical issue and starts bringing the heat again, there's a great chance he will slide back into the mix for saves. Keep an eye on him.

Cam Bedrosian Pitches in Seventh Inning

Los Angeles Angels reliever Cam Bedrosian entered in the seventh inning on Opening Day. He only recorded one out, giving up three hits and an earned run before ceding to Jose Alvarez. This is pretty solid proof that Blake Parker is the closer for now in LA, although manager Mike Scioscia is not always easy to predict. For now, the guy you want is Parker.

Cam Bedrosian Expected to Close in LA

Los Angeles Angels reliever Cam Bedrosian is considered the favorite to start the season as the closer, reports Jon Heyman of Fan Rag sports. Bedrosian was the favorite last year, but an injury limited him and ended up giving Bud Norris and Keynan Middleton opportunities to close out games. Bedrosian finished the year with six saves and a 4.43 ERA in 44 2/3 innings. Expect Bedrosian to compete with Blake Parker and Middleton again this season. Manager Mike Scioscia is unpredictable to say the least, so Bedrosian is a low-end closing option who should only be targeted in deeper leagues for now.

Angels, Cam Bedrosian Avoid Arbitration

The Los Angeles Angels and reliever Cam Bedrosian avoided arbitration at the last minute, agreeing on a one-year, $1.1 million dollar contract. Bedrosian opened 2017 as the closer, but an injury cost him a big chunk of the season. He finished the year with a 4.43 ERA and six saves. He is the favorite to close out games in 2018, but with unpredictable manager Mike Scioscia at the helm, he isnt worth more than a late-round flyer.
