Former New York Yankees and New York Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson announced his retirement on Friday after a successful 16-year career. The 38-year-old was a lifetime .249 hitter with 344 home runs and 937 RBI. He began his career with the Tigers and also played for the Blue Jays, Brewers and Marlins. Grandy hit just .183/.281/.356 with 12 home runs and 34 RBI in 138 games with the Marlins in 2019. The three-time All-Star had his best season in 2011 with the Yankees when he hit .262 with 41 long balls, 136 runs scored, 119 RBI and 25 stolen bases to finish fourth in the American League MVP voting.

With Miami going 0-for-10 on the night with runners in scoring position, manager Don Mattingly may opt to continue to play around with the lineup in an attempt to get something going for one of the league's worst offenses, leaving the veteran with little fantasy appeal for the immediate future.

Chad Wallach is doing the catching and is hitting seventh, while Peter O'Brien is in left field and is batting sixth against Cubs starting pitcher Yu Darvish. The biggest DFS beneficiary will be shortstop Miguel Rojas, who is moved up to the leadoff spot against Chicago. Even in the leadoff spot, Rojas will be more of a deep daily sleeper, as he's hitting .259 with no home runs, 10 runs, 10 RBI and one steal in 116 at-bats for the Fish this year.

There is some appeal if he manages to keep his spot at the top of the order, but for now, he can be left on the waiver wire. Granderson is 3-for-6 against Marquez in his career, but he should be faded in DFS formats on Friday.
