Oakland Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman hit a two-run homer off Daniel Stumpf in the 6-0 win over the Tigers. It was his 15th of the season. Chapman has been hitting more from the two-hole recently and in the last two weeks, he has 14 runs to go with five HR and .360 AVG. Chapman is a solid power bat in a young offense that should be owned in all dynasty leagues.
Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Matthew Boyd was optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Friday after another rough outing. In Boyd's last four starts, only once did he last five innings. Boyd had pitched to a 5.69 ERA for the Tigers so far this season and is hoping to work out some kinks and get back to his early-season form. Boyd had tossed five quality starts from April 11 to May 10, so there is certainly upside to be had. He is replaced on the roster by pitcher Daniel Stumpf, who has pitched in relief all season at Toledo but is now listed as the Tigers' fifth starter. He's only an option for the desperate in AL-only leagues.
