Angels Outright John Lamb, Sherman Johnson to Salt Lake
The Los Angeles Angels have outrighted infielder Sherman Johnson and left-hander John Lamb to Triple-A Salt Lake after they cleared waivers. Both were released from the 40-man roster, but will remain in the organization for now. Lamb had a nice 3.44 ERA and 9.8 K/9 at Triple-A, but got torched in ten MLB innings. Johnson is a 28-year-old utility infielder who had a brief taste of the big leagues last season. Neither figure to be fantasy relevant going forward.
Los Angeles Angels starter John Lamb was placed on the 10-day disabled list with shoulder and elbow inflammation. Reliever Jake Jewell was recalled in his place. Lamb was absolutely crushed by the Red Sox on Tuesday, giving up five runs in just 1 2/3 innings. The Angels don't have a starter for Sunday lined up, so expect an announcement on that soon.
Los Angeles Angels left-hander John Lamb got rocked by the Red Sox on Tuesday. He surrendered five runs (three earned) in just 1 2/3 innings. He walked two and struck out two. Lamb is just a rotation filler until the Angels get healthy, and he now sports a 7.20 ERA and a 1.90 WHIP in 10 innings. He should be avoided in all formats.
The Los Angeles Angels have recalled starter John Lamb from Triple-A Salt Lake. He will start on Saturday against the A's. This will be Lamb's first big league appearance since he went 1-7 with a 6.43 ERA with the Reds in 2016. Lamb posted a 3.44 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP with a stellar 54/15 K/BB ratio in 13 starts for Salt Lake before getting recalled. He is not worth owning in most fantasy formats.
