A's Place Josh Phegley on the DL, Recall Ryan Lavarnway
A's catcher Josh Phegley has been placed on the disabled list with a left oblique injury, one day after being a late scratch from the lineup. Ryan Lavarnway has been called up in his place. Manager Bob Melvin said it is unclear how much time Phegley will miss, but pointed out that oblique injuries are typically pretty lengthy DL stints. Phegley was hitting .205 with three home runs and seven RBI in 47 games as the backup catcher to Bruce Maxwell. Lavarnway will take over that role for the time being, but will not hold any fantasy value.
