Celtics, Derrick White Agree To Four-Year Deal

Boston Celtics guard Derrick White will stay in Boston for another four years after agreeing to a new deal on Friday. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the former San Antonio Spur has agreed to a four-year, $125.9 million deal. He's proven to be an impact player the moment he was traded to Boston and has been named to the All-Defensive Second Team twice in a row. Last year, he averaged 15.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting .461/.396/.901. White has been a star role player and one of the best fantasy assets outside of the league's superstars. He'll likely remain in the same role as the Celtics look to run it back after a championship season.

Derrick White Stays Productive In Game 3 Win

Boston Celtics guard Derrick White had another busy night in the office against Dallas in Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday, notching 16 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two blocks to help the team to a 106-99 victory. He finished with 4-for-10 shooting, recording his only makes from behind the arc with nine attempts. White has been immense at both ends of the floor for Boston in the Finals and should continue to play a large role in the team's success. The 29-year-old has averaged 16.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 1.3 steals in three games against the Mavericks.

Derrick White Will Look For Contract Extension From Boston

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Boston Celtics guard Derrick White will look for a contract extension from the team this offseason. The 29-year-old arguably had the best season of his career in 2023-24, averaging 15.2 points, 5.2 assists, 4.2 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, and 1.0 steals. He also shot 39.6% from deep. White is currently playing on a four-year, $70 million contract he signed while still with the San Antonio Spurs. But the Celtics will likely do all they can to stop him from reaching free agency next offseason, so fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised to see him ink a new deal with Boston over the summer.

Derrick White Impactful At Both Ends In Sunday's Win

Boston Celtics guard Derrick White had a good two-way performance as the team grabbed a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals against Dallas with a 105-98 win on Sunday. White posted 18 points with five rebounds, two assists, three steals, and two blocks. His second swat came late in the game against P.J. Washington at the rim to stop Dallas' comeback effort. The two-time NBA All-Defensive Second Team member struggled a bit with his shooting, going 6-for-15 from the field, but he nailed four of his 10 attempts from behind the arc. White's three-point shooting provided a big boost to the Celtics, who otherwise had a miserable night from downtown with a 10-for-39 record. We should see White get involved in everything again on Wednesday as Boston tries to take a 3-0 lead in the series.

Derrick White Provides 15 Points In Game 1 Win

Boston Celtics guard Derrick White didn't need to break out the heroics in Game 1 for the team to notch a blowout win over the Dallas Mavericks. The veteran guard finished with 15 points, five assists, two rebounds, one steal, and two turnovers while shooting 5-for-11 from the floor and 3-for-8 from downtown. The fact that this seemed like a down game for White is a problem for the Mavericks. The offensive firepower ran through Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis in this one, but White has the ability to lead the team in scoring on any given night. His defense has also been a key piece in their success and he'll look to do more of the same in Game 2 on Sunday.

Derrick White Extraordinary On The Defensive End In Game 4

Boston Celtics guard Derrick White had an incredible defensive performance against the Pacers in Monday's closeout game, recording five steals and three blocks. He also picked up four rebounds and four assists in the contest, capping off the big performance with a game-winning three-pointer to push Boston into the 2024 NBA Finals. He was a poor 2-for-9 with the three-ball for the night but shot a solid 7-for-14 overall to finish with 16 points. Incredibly, White leads the C's in both blocks and three-pointers made in these playoffs. He's averaging 17.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 0.9 steals for the postseason.

Derrick White Bounces Back Wednesday Night

Boston Celtics guard Derrick White was back in form in Game 5 against Cleveland on Wednesday, recording 18 points, five rebounds, six assists, and two steals in a 113-98 win. After being limited to only five points in Game 4, White had twice as many points in the first quarter alone on Wednesday. He was quiet for the rest of the game but still ended up with a good stat line, shooting 4-for-9 from deep and 7-for-17 overall. For some reason, White has struggled to post defensive stats in the postseason, but he continues to play a significant part in Boston's success. The 29-year-old averages 18.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.8 assists with 43.5 percent three-point shooting in the playoffs.

Derrick White Fizzles Offensively Versus Cleveland

Boston Celtics guard Derrick White didn't have his best showing in Monday's win over the Cavs. He scored just five points, going 1-for-6 from the field and 1-for-4 from deep. Fortunately, the veteran at least had seven boards, three assists, and one steal, so DFS managers didn't get left out in the cold. White had 25 points in Game 1. However, he has only 27 in the last three games. With that said, the 29-year-old could easily bounce back in Game 5 on Wednesday evening, with the Celtics looking to close out the series and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Derrick White Impresses With 25 Points For Boston

Boston Celtics guard Derrick White had a great game with 25 points, five rebounds, and two assists in Game 5's win over the Miami Heat. The 29-year-old tied Jaylen Brown for the most points scored as Boston dominated the game from start to finish. White has stepped up the whole series by averaging 22.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in the five games. The Celtics treat White as their third offensive option behind Jayson Tatum and Brown in most games without Kristaps Porzingis. White's stock continuing to rise, and he'll be a strong fantasy option in the next round due to Porzingis (calf) missing more games.

Derrick White Scores Career-High 38 Points In Monday's Win

Boston Celtics guard Derrick White led the charge in Monday's Game 4 against Miami, scoring a career-high 38 points in a 102-88 win. He nailed eight three-point bombs with 15 attempts and shot 15-for-26 overall. As usual, White also made himself useful defensively and produced Boston's only three blocks of the game. He wrapped up his line with four rebounds and three assists. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown generally grab the headlines in Boston, but White once again demonstrated how well this Celtics team is built. He's been effective throughout the series, averaging 21.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.3 blocks with 47 percent shooting from downtown.
