Jordan Walsh Agrees to a Three-Year Extension With Boston

Boston Celtics forward Jordan Walsh has agreed to a three-year, $15 million extension through 2029-30, per Shams Charania of ESPN, after Boston picked up his $2.4 million option for next season. The team-friendly number, well under the roughly $21.2 million maximum he was eligible for, fits Brad Stevens' pattern of locking up role players cheaply. Walsh, 22, is an elite perimeter defender and improving shooter who hit 38.4 percent from three last season, when he averaged 5.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 17.8 minutes across 68 games. The deal secures his future but not his fantasy value: with Jayson Tatum back from his Achilles injury, Walsh's role likely shifts closer to the bench. He stays a deep-league defensive flier and dynasty watch, given his age and defense, rather than a standard-league add.

Jordan Walsh's Celtics Salary Becomes Fully Guaranteed for 2026-27

Boston Celtics forward Jordan Walsh saw his 2026-27 salary become fully guaranteed at $2.4 million on Monday, per Keith Smith, locking in his roster spot for a fourth season. Walsh is also extension-eligible all year and could technically sign for up to 140 percent of the average salary, starting around $21.2 million. However, that number is a ceiling a low-usage wing is unlikely to approach. He set career highs in 2025-26 with 5.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.5 blocks in 17.8 minutes across 68 games, but that run came largely because Jayson Tatum missed most of the year. With Tatum back from the tear, Boston's wing minutes tighten again, leaving Walsh a deep-league defensive flier at best.

Jordan Walsh Sticks in Boston as Celtics Exercise Team Option

Boston Celtics forward Jordan Walsh had his $2.4 million team option for 2026-27 exercised, Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe reported. The 22-year-old defensive specialist turned a gutted roster into a career year while Jayson Tatum sat out most of last season, posting 5.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 0.7 steals with 25 starts in 17.8 minutes over 68 games. The catch for fantasy: that runway shrinks if Tatum returns to form. Walsh's 3-and-D profile and 38.4 percent stroke from deep keep him off standard-league radars, a dynasty stash whose value hinges on the wing minutes, including any Jaylen Brown trade, opening back up.

Jordan Walsh Available On Friday Against Pacers

Boston Celtics forward Jordan Walsh (illness) will be available for Friday night's game against the Pacers. Walsh missed Monday's game against Indiana with the same illness but will be available to play in the rematch. The 21-year-old hasn't provided much fantasy value since being inserted into the starting lineup in early November but could help those in need of rebounds as he's averaged 5.7 RPG as a starter. Category league managers may find the best value out of Walsh compared to traditional fantasy managers or DFS players.

Jordan Walsh Likely Returning on Friday

Boston Celtics forward Jordan Walsh (illness) is expected to play on Friday against Indiana. With Jayson Tatum (Achilles) sidelined, Walsh has stepped up for the C's throughout the 2025 campaign, averaging 7.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.2 steals while shooting 44.4% from downtown. He didn't suit up when these clubs met on Monday because of an illness, opening the door for Josh Minott to enter the starting lineup. However, with Walsh anticipated to return, Minott will presumably head back to the bench. With that said, Minott had only two points in nine minutes as a starter, so he won't be a trustworthy fantasy option if Walsh suffers a setback and gets ruled out.

Jordan Walsh Unavailable Against Indiana

Boston Celtics forward Jordan Walsh (illness) won't play on Monday against Indiana. He's not feeling well. Fortunately, the C's aren't back in action until Friday for a rematch versus the Pacers, so he'll have time to feel better. Walsh is easily having the best season of his career. He's also started 16 times, averaging 8.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals in those appearances. However, now that he's on the shelf for Monday's contest, Sam Hauser and Hugo Gonzalez could see more minutes, giving both players a bump in fantasy expectations.

Jordan Walsh Questionable Monday Due to Illness

Boston Celtics guard/forward Jordan Walsh (illness) is questionable for Monday's game against the Indiana Pacers. The 21-year-old has been dealing with an illness and played only 13 minutes in Saturday's win over the Toronto Raptors -- his lowest since Nov. 18. Walsh has started regularly since mid-November, averaging 8.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals in 23.9 minutes per game. If Jaylen Brown (illness) feels healthy enough to return to action, he will take Walsh's spot in the starting lineup. Should both be unavailable, Hugo Gonzalez and Josh Minott are expected to see increased minutes, with one likely moving into the starting five.

Jordan Walsh Hits Game-High 25 Points Against Lakers

Boston Celtics small forward Jordan Walsh further improved his stock in Wednesday's Summer League matchup against the Lakers, leading all scorers with 25 points in a 95-90 win. He finished with 10-for-20 shooting, hitting 2-for-7 from behind the arc, and registered eight rebounds, two assists, and one steal. The Arkansas product was a second-round pick in this year's draft, but he has already inked a four-year deal with the Celtics and his Summer League performances have been outstanding. In three games, Walsh has averaged 18.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.3 steals. The path to playing time isn't easy in Boston, but Walsh has demonstrated that he could be ready to contribute in the NBA straight away if needed.
