Derrick White News
San Antonio Spurs guard Derrick White (ankle) is not expected to play in the final 12 games of the regular season, according to head coach Gregg Popovich. He suffered a sprained ankle on Monday, so the Spurs are going to play it safe and let him rest. Devin Vassell will move into the starting five for Wednesday's game against the Miami Heat. He'll have intriguing DFS appeal with extended playing time. Patty Mills and Lonnie Walker IV should see an uptick in value as well.
San Antonio Spurs point/shooting guard Derrick White (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's contest against the Heat after having sprained his right ankle during Monday's outing. After having been snake bitten by injuries to begin the year, White had played in each of the Spurs' past 28 games; his absence paves the way for more minutes and shot opportunities for both Lonnie Walker IV and Patty Mills. White had begun to percolate from the field as of late, averaging 18.1 PPG over his last eight contests. San Antonio did not provide a timeline for when he could return to action, so managers will want to check back ahead of Friday's outing versus Boston.
San Antonio Spurs point/shooting guard Derrick White (ankle) was ruled out for the remainder of Monday's game versus the Wizards after sustaining a sprained right ankle. Prior to his exit, White was able to compile nine points, three rebounds and two assists across 19 minutes. Without him in the mix, Patty Mills and Lonnie Walker IV would see elevated minutes and offensive opportunities, while Dejounte Murray would see the lion's share of ball-handling duties. White's next chance to return to action comes Wednesday against Miami.
San Antonio Spurs guard Derrick White scored a team-high 26 points and had eight assists and seven rebounds with three blocks and one steal in Thursday's win over Detroit. He shot 8-for-17 from the floor and 8-for-8 at the line with a 2-for-8 record from downtown. White had a chance to run the show with Dejounte Murray and DeMar DeRozan both getting the night off. The 26-year-old will get to face the Pelicans next, a team that has got plenty of defensive issues. His fantasy value takes an instant hit when Murray and DeRozan return, but he's a starter on the team and can still cook up a good line.
