Franz Wagner News
Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner scored a team-high 18 points as Germany reached the Olympics semifinals for the first time in men's basketball by beating Giannis Antetokounmpo's Greece 76-63 on Tuesday. Wagner's three-point shot was off, as he finished 1-for-6 from downtown, but the Magic star went a decent 8-for-17 overall from the field. The 22-year-old made an impact defensively as well, with three steals. His work included three rebounds and two assists. It was another good all-around performance from Wagner, who sits among the top scorers in Paris with 20.8 points per game and averages 1.8 steals with 4.5 rebounds. Wagner has looked excellent at the Olympics, which should be an encouraging sign for the Magic and fantasy managers alike ahead of the new NBA campaign.

Franz Wagner Does A Little Bit Of Everything In Victory Over Brazil
Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner finished a horrible 0-for-6 with his triples against Brazil at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday but helped Germany to an 86-73 win with a good all-around performance. The 22-year-old had 17 points on 7-for-15 shooting with four rebounds, three assists, four steals, and one block. Wagner fully showed off his versatility, which earned him a five-year, $224 million extension this offseason. Orlando clearly sees him as one of the cornerstones of the team, and Wagner fills a hugely important role for Team Germany as well. He has posted 19.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals through the first couple of games at the Olympics.

Franz Wagner Leads Germany To A Win
Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner led Germany to a win over Japan in Saturday's Olympic matchup. He had issues finding the bottom of the net, going 9-for-17 from the field and 2-for-8 from deep. However, Wagner still finished with a game-high 22 points, adding six rebounds, one assist, and one block. The 22-year-old is coming off a potent 2023-24 campaign, averaging a career-high 19.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.1 steals. As a result, he was rewarded with a five-year maximum contract extension in early July. With a win in the books, Germany will continue the quest for a gold medal against Brazil on Tuesday.

Franz Wagner, Magic Agree On Contract Extension
Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner agreed to a five-year contract extension with the team. The 2021 No. 8 overall pick has spent the last three seasons with the Magic since entering the league, averaging 17.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists while appearing in 231 games. There aren't many players in the National Basketball Association who are more durable, so keeping him in Orlando was a no-brainer for a club that's hoping to make a deep postseason run in 2024-25. Fantasy managers could continue to see growth from the 22-year-old moving ahead, although his 33.2% shooting from behind the arc is something category participants would like to see improve. Wagner is eligible to earn up to $270 million with his new deal.

Franz Wagner Has A Rough Game 7
Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner struggled in Sunday's loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The 22-year-old had 26 points in the Game 6 win on Friday night. However, he fizzled on Sunday, ending the afternoon with just six points off 1-for-15 shooting from the field. He had struggled on the road during this series, but his performance in Game 7 couldn't have gone much worse. With Orlando done, the team can make moves this offseason. But the roster should continue to be built around Wagner and Paolo Banchero, with both players expected to improve even more in 2024-25.

Franz Wagner Back On Friday Night
Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner (ankle) will suit up for Friday's game in Philly. He's missed the last two games because of a sprained right ankle and was riding a questionable tag heading into this one. But Orlando is looking to clinch the Southeast division, which is incentive enough for Wagner to return. Nonetheless, with F. Wagner back in the mix, Moritz Wagner and Jonathan Isaac will likely see fewer than 20 minutes each, lowering their ceilings for DFS purposes.

Franz Wagner Remains Questionable
Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner (ankle) remains listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Wagner has missed two consecutive games due to a right ankle sprain, and his status remains uncertain for Friday's crucial matchup in helping decide Eastern Conference playoff seeding. Head coach Jamahl Mosley has turned to Markelle Fultz in his starting backcourt in the last two contests Wagner has missed. Over his past four games that Wagner has been sidelined dating back to January, Fultz is averaging a modest 10.3 points on 51.3% shooting from the floor, 2.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.2 steals in 27.5 minutes and isn't the most attractive option from a DFS perspective.

Franz Wagner Remains Out On Wednesday
Orlando Magic guard/forward Franz Wagner has been ruled out for a second consecutive game on Wednesday versus Milwaukee. He was initially listed as questionable for the contest. Jonathan Isaac and Joe Ingles have a chance to see more action with Wagner out of the lineup. Isaac is the stronger fantasy option, and he's coming off an impressive 22-minute outing against Houston. The 26-year-old registered 10 points, eight rebounds, a pair of steals, and a block on Tuesday. However, due to his injury history, there's a chance Isaac will see limited action in Wednesday's matchup.

Franz Wagner Ruled Out On Tuesday
Orlando Magic guard/forward Franz Wagner (ankle) has been downgraded to out for Tuesday's matchup against Houston. After Wagner hurt his right ankle on Sunday versus Chicago, there was hope of him being available for the contest when he took part in the morning shootaround, but the team has now officially ruled him out. Joe Ingles will likely play a larger part in the rotation without Wagner, although he's been unproductive throughout the season, and fantasy managers should look elsewhere.

Franz Wagner Spotted At Shootaround
Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner (ankle) was on the court during shootaround putting up shots ahead of Tuesday's tilt against the Houston Rockets. It renders Wagner closer to probable than questionable with a sprained right ankle for Tuesday's action, but his status could still come down to a game-time decision based on pregame warmups. The 46-32 Magic could choose to exercise caution with the 22-year-old former first-round pick with an eye toward the postseason, considering Wagner also sustained a right ankle sprain back in January. More would be asked of Joe Ingles if Wagner is out against the Rockets, but the veteran marksman has only put up 8.0 points, 4.0 assists. 1.5 rebounds, 1.0 steals, and 2.0 three-pointers per contest in four games without Wagner this year. Houston is also allowing the fourth-fewest DraftKings points to opposing small forwards.
