Jonathan Isaac Signing $84 Million Extension With Magic
Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac has renegotiated his contract with the team, agreeing to a five-year extension. Per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Isaac will be paid $84 million for his services. Isaac was set to enter the final season of a four-year, $69.9 million deal. The 26-year-old has spent much of his NBA career in the treatment room but has proven himself as a fantastic defender. Despite averaging only 15.8 minutes across 58 games in 2023-24, Isaac led the Magic with 1.2 blocks. He also lowered opponents' shooting accuracy when guarding them by six percent to share a league-best mark with Defensive Player of the Year Award winner Rudy Gobert. Offensively, Isaac contributed 6.8 points off the Magic bench while grabbing 4.5 rebounds.
Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac couldn't provide a spark off the bench as the team's season ended with a Game 7 loss to Cleveland on Sunday. Isaac was back in the second unit following Gary Harris' return to action. He contributed only two points in 18 minutes and had two rebounds with one assist. It was an awful finish to the series from Isaac, who was held scoreless in Game 6. However, he showed his full potential through the first five games of the matchup. The 26-year-old averaged 8.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.6 blocks, and 1.0 steals in 21.4 minutes. Isaac is an outstanding defensive presence when he's healthy. In 2023-24, he once again had some injury problems but managed to play in 58 regular-season games, his most since 2018-19.
Jonathan Isaac Unable To Finish Game Due To Sore Back
Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac logged only five minutes of action on Sunday against Chicago due to a sore back. The injury-prone forward picked up a couple of rebounds in the limited playing time before getting ruled out for the rest of the game. Health issues tend to accompany Isaac wherever he goes, but the 28-year-old has been effective when on the court. Despite seeing just 17.5 minutes per game last month, Isaac averaged 9.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks. Orlando also lost Franz Wagner (ankle) on Sunday, meaning head coach Jamahl Mosley could be forced to make multiple changes to his rotation on Tuesday versus Houston.
Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac (hamstring) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Monday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers. Isaac was sidelined on Saturday due to right hamstring maintenance. It doesn't sound like Isaac is dealing with anything serious but the Magic want to keep him healthy ahead of the postseason. Isaac should be back in the rotation on Monday, but he hasn't seen a huge role in the rotation lately.
Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac (hamstring) won't play on Saturday against Memphis. The Magic need him healthy for the postseason, so he'll miss the second game of a back-to-back after logging 16 minutes in Friday's three-point loss to the Clippers. While Isaac doesn't play a lot of minutes whenever he's in the lineup, his absence should allow Joe Ingles and Moritz Wagner to get a few more scoring opportunities.
Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac (knee) isn't listed on the injury report for Tuesday's matchup with Charlotte, suggesting he will play. The 26-year-old didn't suit up against Toronto on Sunday, although nobody should be surprised at this point whenever he sits out. But he's at least played 46 games this season, his most since 2018-19. However, Isaac has averaged just 6.4 points and 4.3 rebounds this season, which won't do much for fantasy managers.
Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac (knee) will come out of the lineup on Sunday versus Toronto. After playing in six of the last seven games, Isaac misses Sunday's action with left knee injury maintenance. Isaac has been very productive lately, averaging 10.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks in 18.6 minutes. Caleb Houstan should grab most of his minutes on Sunday, although the 21-year-old isn't nearly as impactful as Isaac and shouldn't be on fantasy radars.
Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac (knee) has been downgraded from questionable to out for Wednesday's matchup against the Wizards. Isaac worked 18 minutes off the bench Tuesday versus Charlotte, and the team doesn't want to push him too hard, as the 26-year-old has only just returned from a knee injury. Caleb Houstan saw a big boost in playing time during Isaac's most recent absence, but the second-year player has struggled to make an impact and isn't a recommended fantasy target.
Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac (knee) has been listed as questionable on the injury report ahead of Wednesday's meeting with the Wizards. The team is finishing off a back-to-back and might elect to avoid overloading Isaac, who's had all kinds of injury troubles in his career. Isaac logged 18 minutes off the bench Tuesday versus Charlotte and had a good outing with 11 points, six rebounds, one steal, and one block. Caleb Houstan figures to be more involved in the rotation on Wednesday if Isaac doesn't play, but he's a guy fantasy managers can safely ignore.
Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac (illness) will miss a second straight game on Thursday versus Utah. He has overcome a knee strain but is now battling an illness, which will keep Isaac off the court on Thursday. There appears to be some sort of a bug going around in the Magic locker room, as Paolo Banchero is also sick and considered questionable for the game. Caleb Houstan has benefited the most from Orlando's recent lineup issues, while the frontcourt absentees also open up extra minutes for Moritz Wagner and Joe Ingles.
