Any time Carter sees a spot-star, he almost always becomes a must-play in every fantasy format. For those in deeper leagues, he could be worth holding on the roster even on a normal day.

He's getting plenty of minutes off of the bench this season, so if any guards in the starting lineup are out, he's a great pickup as a streaming option if he's available.

It's a shame because Carter had shown flashes of potential throughout the season. He even had one game where he knocked down seven three-pointers. The 26-year-old should be able to find another team, but it's unlikely he does enough to warrant adding in any fantasy formats. At this point, the fourth-year player is basically going to be a depth player on any teams he joins.

Phoenix rolled out its fringe players here, which resulted in a few unexpected heroes popping up like Carter, who averaged only 3.9 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists for the year. He'll be back to being a non-factor in the playoffs. Devin Booker will finally see some playoff action and Chris Paul has always been a clutch performer in crunch time, so the Suns might not be done yet after an outstanding regular season.

Carter benefited from the occasional Mike Conley absence during the year and would seem to be a part of Memphis long-term plans with his defensive mindset. Hes likely not a draftable commodity, but rather a name to remember early on in the year in the DFS ranks should injuries press him into duty.

Carter is dealing with right knee soreness, but appears to be healthy enough to take the court. However, he's struggling this season and belongs on the waiver wire. Noah and Ivan Rabb will be asked to play more minutes at center with Jonas Valanciunas (personal) out on Friday.

Shelvin Mack played four minutes on Friday and hasn't played since then. Carter will likely see minutes in the low 20s most nights, but it's difficult to trust him in most formats. Mike Conley is the starter and no one is going to have much fantasy value behind him while he's healthy.
