Jevon Carter News
Phoenix Suns point guard Jevon Carter nearly posted a triple-double in Sunday's 123-121 win over San Antonio, going for 19 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists in 43 minutes of action. Phoenix rolled out its fringe players here, which resulted in a few unexpected heroes popping up like Carter, who averaged only 3.9 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists for the year. He'll be back to being a non-factor in the playoffs. Devin Booker will finally see some playoff action and Chris Paul has always been a clutch performer in crunch time, so the Suns might not be done yet after an outstanding regular season.
Memphis Grizzlies point/shooting guard Jevon Carter was scorching-hot from the floor during Wednesdays win over the Golden State Warriors. Carter logged a career-high 32 points on 10-for-18 shooting overall, including going 8-for-12 from behind the three-point line. He also added four rebounds and two assists during his 26 minutes off the bench, far surpassing his best performances of his rookie season up to Wednesday. Carter benefited from the occasional Mike Conley absence during the year and would seem to be a part of Memphis long-term plans with his defensive mindset. Hes likely not a draftable commodity, but rather a name to remember early on in the year in the DFS ranks should injuries press him into duty.
Memphis Grizzlies center Joakim Noah (heel) and guard Jevon Carter (knee) are listed as probable for Friday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Carter is dealing with right knee soreness, but appears to be healthy enough to take the court. However, he's struggling this season and belongs on the waiver wire. Noah and Ivan Rabb will be asked to play more minutes at center with Jonas Valanciunas (personal) out on Friday.
Memphis Grizzlies guard Jevon Carter will take over the backup point guard duties in Memphis, according to head coach J.B. Bickerstaff. Shelvin Mack played four minutes on Friday and hasn't played since then. Carter will likely see minutes in the low 20s most nights, but it's difficult to trust him in most formats. Mike Conley is the starter and no one is going to have much fantasy value behind him while he's healthy.
