J.J. Redick Done For The Rest Of The Regular Season

Dallas Mavericks guard J.J. Redick (heel) will be shut down until the postseason next week. The team is uncertain if he'll be ready to play in the playoffs, but he isn't a huge part of the Mavs rotation. The veteran guard is a nice source of triples off the bench, but won't make or break the team. Josh Richardson and Jalen Brunson should see more minutes during the last few regular season games. Richardson is the better fantasy option between the two guards.

J.J. Redick Not Playing Against Pelicans

Dallas Mavericks guard J.J. Redick (heel) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans. The veteran guard was only able to play two minutes on Tuesday before he was forced out due to a heel issue. It wouldn't be shocking to see the Mavs have Redick rest until the postseason. Jalen Brunson and Tim Hardaway Jr. will see an uptick in value on Wednesday. Hardaway is the better streaming option between the two guards.

Kristaps Porzingis, J.J. Redick Will Miss Saturday’s Game

Dallas Mavericks power forward/center Kristaps Porzingis (knee) and shooting guard J.J. Redick (heel) have both been ruled out for Saturday's contest versus Washington. Porzingis will have played just once in Dallas' past five games, seeing only 21 minutes in that lone outing. The move could be somewhat precautionary with the Mavericks playing the first leg of a back-to-back Saturday, but it's apparent that Porzingis is far from 100 percent healthy down the stretch. Redick has become a reliable member of the team's second unit over the past three weeks, but his 12.4 minutes per game average since joining Dallas caps his fantasy ceiling. The next chance that either player has to return comes Sunday against the Kings.

J.J. Redick, Dorian Finney-Smith Will Play Tuesday

Dallas Mavericks shooting guard/small forward J.J. Redick (heel) and small/power forward Dorian Finney-Smith (leg) have both been cleared to suit up Tuesday against the Warriors. Redick returns after a one-game absence, giving the Mavericks some much-needed wing depth with Josh Richardson (hamstring) unavailable. Finney-Smith will look to continue his recent hot stretch in which he has scored in double figures in six consecutive games, averaging 34.5 minutes per contest in that span. With Dallas' depth being tested, all healthy members of the roster stand to have elevated DFS appeal, while Redick and Finney-Smith have respective season-long category intrigue due to their specific skill sets.

Luka Doncic, J.J. Redick Questionable For Tuesday

Dallas Mavericks guards Luka Doncic (elbow) and J.J. Redick (heel) are listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Golden State Warriors. On Monday, Doncic played 38 minutes, so the Mavs could give him a day off here. Although, Dallas is fighting for playoff seeding, so Doncic is likely a game-time decision. Redick has been banged up for a while now and missed Monday's game. It wouldn't be shocking to see him sit out again on Tuesday. Jalen Brunson and Tim Hardaway Jr. are likely going to benefit the most here. Hardaway could be a favorable streaming option and DFS choice, assuming Doncic sits out.

Kristaps Porzingis, Josh Richardson, J.J. Redick All Out Monday

The Dallas Mavericks will be severely short-handed when they take the floor Monday against the Kings with Kristaps Porzingis (ankle), Josh Richardson (hamstring) and J.J. Redick (heel) all unavailable. The absence for Porzingis and Richardson marks their second in a row, which allowed Dwight Powell and Tim Hardaway Jr., respectively, to see larger roles. Powell is coming off a season-high 25-point performance his last time out, so aggressive DFS managers could eye him as an upside selection. The loss of Redick indicates that Jalen Brunson should get substantial run with the second unit, in addition to all healthy members of the backcourt being in line for potential minutes increases.

Dallas Gets Maxi Kleber, J.J. Redick Back For Monday

Dallas Mavericks power forward/center Maxi Kleber (leg) and shooting guard/small forward J.J. Redick (heel) rejoin the lineup for Monday's contest against the 76ers. With the Mavs' schedule featuring a pile of back-to-backs, the team has alternated Kleber between being active and being held out of the mix, while Redick is making his team debut since being acquired from New Orleans. From a DFS perspective, Kleber stands to benefit from Kristaps Porzingis (rest, knee) being unavailable Monday. It's unclear how Redick will acclimate to the rotation, but his traditional dead-eye marksmanship has been a bit muddled this year, shooting a career-low 36.4 percent from behind the arc.

J.J. Redick Logs Full Practice, Mavs Debut Could Come Soon

Dallas Mavericks shooting guard/small forward J.J. Redick (heel) was able to practice in full Saturday, potentially paving the way for the veteran to make his team debut with Dallas come Monday versus Philadelphia. Redick has uncharacteristically struggled from deep this season, shooting a career-low 36.4 percent en route to just a 8.7 PPG average. Traditionally targeted primarily in categories formats for his marksmanship, how Redick will fit the Mavs' rotation remains unclear. Tim Hardaway Jr. and Trey Burke stand to see slight offensive decreases with Redick in the mix, but fantasy managers will want to check back to see when the veteran is officially cleared for action.

J.J. Redick Remains Sidelined

Dallas Mavericks guard J.J. Redick (heel) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Indiana Pacers. He was dealt to the Mavs during Thursday's trade deadline. In theory, this trade should help Redick's fantasy value. However, he continues to be sidelined by injuries and is having one of the worst years of his career. Fantasy managers can feel safe leaving him on the waiver wire until he shows more signs of life.

Mavericks Trade For J.J. Redick

The Dallas Mavericks acquired guard J.J. Redick from the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for forward James Johnson, forward Wesley Iwundu, and a second-round pick. Forward Nicolo Melli accompanies Redick in the deal to Dallas. The 36-year-old Redick will provide shooting off the bench and take some opportunities away from Dorian Finney-Smith and Jalen Brunson, though the latter should remain the best player off of Dallas' bench. The veteran sharpshooter likely won't have a very lucrative role, but he could be a matchup-based play in DFS formats.
