Jayson Tatum to Return in March?

According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum (Achilles) appears to have a chance to return to the court in March. The 27-year-old suffered a torn Achilles in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals series with the New York Knicks back in May, resulting in surgery the very next day. Miraculously, he's already running and shooting. Tatum is coming off another quality year, averaging 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.1 steals in 72 appearances throughout the regular season. Of course, the Celtics will surely take a cautious approach by not rushing him back, even if the team is in the mix to capture a top spot in the Eastern Conference heading toward the postseason. With that said, Tatum's return may not benefit fantasy managers, especially since he'll presumably be on a minutes restriction once cleared for action. However, the situation is still worth monitoring. For now, Sam Hauser should see routine minutes as a starter, with Payton Pritchard, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White in line to see even more scoring opportunities.

Jayson Tatum Working Towards a Return This Season

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum (Achilles) could be back this season if his recovery continues. He made it clear on ESPN's First Take that he has not ruled out a return this season and stated that "I don't go to rehab six days a week for nothing." He also clarified that a full recovery is the top priority and that he will not rush back. Tatum suffered his torn Achilles against the Knicks in May, but it is clear he is still looking to return this season. Whether he'll be able to do that or not still remains to be seen, though, and if he does get back will the Celtics be in a place where he can be effective enough to make a difference. His recovery will be a key storyline to follow throughout the season.

Jayson Tatum "Moving Around Way Better"

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum (Achilles) continues his rehab efforts after undergoing surgery on a torn Achilles suffered during the playoff series versus the New York Knicks. Fortunately, he's moving in the right direction, with Jordan Walsh recently providing an encouraging update on his teammate. "I've seen him from when he messed up his Achilles to now, and it's a big difference," said Walsh. "He's moving around way better. So, he's progressing well." It's unknown exactly when Tatum will be ready to play. However, the Celtics still have more than a few capable scorers to help keep the team competitive. Fantasy managers can anticipate Jaylen Brown and Derrick White to lead the way offensively. Payton Pritchard, who is in line to move into the starting lineup, should be entering his best season to date after being named the 2025 NBA Sixth Man of the Year.

Jayson Tatum Provides Injury Update

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum (Achilles) has provided a fresh update on his rehab. "Rehab is tedious, man," Tatum said. "It's six days a week. I'm starting to get a little bit better. I'm out of the boot now. Better days ahead, but just trying to take it one day at a time. You gotta be resilient. The first six weeks of this was probably the toughest six weeks of any point in my life." Tatum still doesn't have an official timeline for his comeback, but he's eager to return. "Just have to accept it and realize it happened. And now I have to do everything in my power to get back to who I was and get back to playing," he added.

Jayson Tatum Out of Walking Boot

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum (Achilles) was seen at the New England Patriots' practice on Wednesday, walking without a boot or brace. It's been nearly three months since Tatum ruptured his right Achilles during the playoffs against the New York Knicks. He appears to be making great progress. An anonymous NBA scout mentioned last week that Tatum "looked way ahead" in his recovery and was "kind of shocked" by how well the six-time All-Star was moving during a basketball camp in Las Vegas. While Tatum's progress is promising, the Celtics have no reason to rush him back, and it wouldn't be surprising to still see him sit out the entire 2025-26 campaign.

Jayson Tatum Tears Achilles, Undergoes Successful Surgery

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum (Achilles) suffered a torn right Achilles in Monday's loss to the Knicks. As a result, he underwent successful surgery on Tuesday. The former Duke Blue Devil had one of his best postseason showings on Monday night, amassing 42 points, eight boards, four steals, and two blocks. Unfortunately, he suffered a non-contact injury late in the contest and required assistance off the floor. It's obviously a tough blow for the C's, who are now one game away from being eliminated from the postseason. Payton Pritchard should see a bump in production for the remainder of the postseason, although the same can be said for Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, Al Horford, and potentially Kristaps Porzingis. As far as Tatum is concerned, it's unknown when he'll be back on the floor, but fantasy managers should expect him to at least miss a significant portion of the 2025-26 campaign.

Jayson Tatum To Undergo MRI Tuesday

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday after suffering an apparent lower leg injury in Monday's Game 4 against the New York Knicks. Tatum dominated the game, scoring 42 points, but he was forced to exit the contest with 2:58 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Celtics superstar suffered a non-contact injury to his right leg and was seen in a wheelchair on his way to the locker room. Unfortunately, it seems that Tatum may face an extended absence. This would give Jaylen Brown the keys to the offense, while the rest of the group would also need to step up.

Jayson Tatum Has Another Rough Shooting Night

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum scored 13 points in Wednesday's 91-90 loss to the Knicks. He added 14 boards, five assists, three steals, and one block. The former Duke Blue Devil had a tough time finding the bottom of the net in Game 1. Unfortunately, that trend continued in Game 2, with Tatum going 5-for-19 from the field and 1-for-5 from behind the three-point line. With the Knicks up 2-0, the series will head back to New York for Game 3 on Saturday afternoon. But on a positive note, Tatum averaged 36 points and 44% shooting from deep at Madison Square Garden during the regular season (two appearances), so there's reason to believe he may turn things around.

Jayson Tatum Fills Stat Sheet On Poor Shooting Night

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum struggled to hit shots in Monday's Game 1 against the New York Knicks, but still had an impressive outing in a 108-105 overtime loss. The Celtics superstar finished the contest with 23 points, 16 rebounds, six assists, two steals, and one block. Tatum did most of his scoring during a hot spell in the first quarter when he scored 13 consecutive points for Boston. He was 7-for-23 from the field and 4-for-15 from downtown in the game. It was a poor shooting performance overall for Joe Mazzulla's team, yet they still lost by only three, which says a lot about Boston's quality. Tatum is sure to deliver a much more efficient performance in Wednesday's Game 2.

Jayson Tatum Fires In 35 Points In Series-Clincher

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum scored a game-high 35 points as the team moved into the second round of the playoffs with a 120-89 victory over the Orlando Magic on Tuesday night. He also stood out as the best passer in the game, logging 10 assists while grabbing eight rebounds and recording one steal. The Celtics superstar shot 10-for-16 from the field, including 4-for-5 from three-point range, and finished 11-for-11 from the free-throw line. Tatum injured his right wrist in the series opener and sat out Game 2, but he returned to action as if nothing had happened. Over the final three games of the series, Tatum averaged 36.0 points. He finished the matchup with averages of 31.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.5 steals.
