Pelicans
New Orleans Pelicans guard Jordan Hawkins (back) will miss one to two weeks with a lower-back strain, according to the team's official page on X. The 22-year-old cracked the starting rotation over the last few games while the Pelicans suffered multiple injuries to their backcourt. With another injury to a guard, they'll be very thin for the next week at least. Jose Alvarado has also entered the starting five, while Brandon Boston Jr. and Javonte Green will get even more minutes while the others are on the mend.

Jose Alvarado, Jordan Hawkins Both Active On Wednesday
New Orleans Pelicans guards Jose Alvarado (ankle) and Jordan Hawkins (back) are both available ahead of Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Both players were considered questionable coming into this one, but it appears they're feeling good enough to give it a go. Hawkins is back after a one-game absence due to lower back tightness. Hawkins has stepped into a bigger role for the Pelicans lately. He's averaging 21.7 points and 3.7 rebounds across the last three games. He's worth a look as a streaming choice right now. Alvarado scored 18 points during his last game, but Hawkins is the better streaming choice between the two.

Jordan Hawkins Questionable For Wednesday Night Against Cleveland
New Orleans Pelicans guard Jordan Hawkins (back) is listed as questionable for Wednesday night's matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Hawkins is dealing with lower-back tightness, an issue that kept him out of Monday night's loss against the Portland Trailblazers. The 22-year-old had found his way into the starting lineup thanks to an injury to CJ McCollum before Monday night's absence. Hawkins has averaged 17.6 points this season while shooting 37.5% from three and will be depended on against a tough Cavaliers team if healthy. If Hawkins is to miss Wednesday's game, then expect Brandon Boston Jr. to get the start. Boston has averaged 9.8 points this season but put up 20 in his start against Portland on Monday night. Both should be considered viable options for all fantasy formats on Wednesday, while Boston would make a sneaky DFS play if Hawkins cannot suit up.

Jordan Hawkins Out Versus The Blazers
New Orleans Pelicans guard Jordan Hawkins (back) will miss Monday's contest versus the Trail Blazers. The former Pelican had 19 points, three assists, and one block in Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Hawks. But he'll miss Monday's game because of back soreness. With Zion Williamson (thigh) out again, the team will rely more on Brandon Ingram on the offensive end. There's also room for guys like Jose Alvarado, Brandon Boston Jr., and Jamal Cain to exceed fantasy expectations.

Jordan Hawkins Back On The Injury Report
New Orleans Pelicans guard Jordan Hawkins (back) is questionable heading into Sunday's game versus the Atlanta Hawks. The 22-year-old has been battling a back issue of late, so this isn't the first time he's appeared on the injury report. However, barring a setback, he should be good to go. The Pels don't have CJ McCollum (thigh), Dejounte Murray (hand), and Herbert Jones (shoulder), resulting in Hawkins getting more work. Fortunately, he's taken advantage of his extra time on the court, averaging 23.0 points in his two starts. As long as Hawkins continues to produce at that level, he'll have a place on fantasy rosters. But if he can't suit up on Sunday, Javonte Green and Brandon Boston Jr. could see more action.

Jordan Hawkins Expected To Play Friday
New Orleans Pelicans guard Jordan Hawkins (back) is expected to be available for Friday's matchup against the Indiana Pacers, according to head coach Willie Green. The young guard has been managing back spasms but is expected to play through the issue in a depleted backcourt. With CJ McCollum (thigh) and Dejounte Murray (hand) both sidelined, Hawkins is set for an expanded role. Over five regular-season games, he has averaged 16.2 points per game and could take on even more responsibility Friday.

Jordan Hawkins Uncertain To Play
New Orleans Pelicans guard Jordan Hawkins (back) is tagged as questionable ahead of Friday's game against the Indiana Pacers. The Pelicans could be in some trouble with CJ McCollum (groin) and Herbert Jones (shoulder) ruled out for Friday. Hawkins has stepped up and played well with the Pelicans shorthanded, but they'd have a tough time filling the void if he sits out as well. Jose Alvarado and Antonio Reeves could be asked to take on bigger roles if Hawkins is unable to go on Friday.

Jordan Hawkins Expected To Take More Threes
New Orleans Pelicans shooting guard Jordan Hawkins will have the green light to bomb away from deep this season. The Pelicans started the preseason with a 106-104 win over Orlando, attempting 40 shots from three-point range. Hawkins took five of them, sinking two attempts. He led all scorers with 18 points. "They are telling me, 'Shoot a lot of 3s,' " Hawkins said after the game. "They definitely are trying to get up as many 3s as possible. It's definitely a big emphasis this year." Hawkins averaged 4.4 attempts from behind the arc during his rookie campaign last year, hitting with a 36.6 percent clip to average 7.8 points. His scoring numbers are bound to get a considerable boost with more attempts from downtown.

Jordan Hawkins Exits Early On Saturday
New Orleans Pelicans guard Jordan Hawkins (ankle) was removed early during Saturday's exhibition contest against the Denver Nuggets. Hawkins suffered a right ankle injury while attempting to jump for a lob pass in the second quarter. The good news is that the X-rays were negative on his ankle. However, the severity of the injury is unknown right now. Hawkins has a chance to earn consistent minutes in the rotation this season. Last season, Hawkins averaged 7.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in 17.3 minutes per game last season. There might be some deep league value from Hawkins, but probably nothing more than that.

Jordan Hawkins Stands Out With Team-High 31 Points
New Orleans Pelicans guard Jordan Hawkins filled in admirably for CJ McCollum (lung) in Monday's 134-116 loss to the Denver Nuggets, dropping 31 points while draining seven three-pointers on 10 of 19 shooting overall with seven rebounds. Hawkins has already made a couple of spot starts for the injured Brandon Ingram, but he may now be looking at a longer stay with the first unit with McCollum out indefinitely. The 21-year-old UConn product is looking like a hot waiver-wire addition for fantasy managers, but he remains outside the top 150 in per-game nine-category value through seven games. Hawkins is averaging 12.6 points, 4.0 boards, and 2.9 triples but is shooting only 38.5% from the field, 72.7% from the line, and has yet to record a blocked shot. Look for the No. 14 overall pick to aid in points, threes, and turnovers categories, but it doesn't seem like Hawkins has graduated into much of a multi-stat contributor just yet.
