Sam Hauser Cleared for Monday

Boston Celtics forward Sam Hauser (hamstring) will return from a one-game absence on Monday against the Indiana Pacers. He makes a timely return, as Boston will be without Jaylen Brown (back). Hauser could step into Brown's spot in the starting unit. He has been a starter in nine games this season, averaging 9.7 points and 3.2 rebounds. Indiana has limited opponents to 33.8 percent three-point shooting this season, making this a tricky matchup for Hauser.

Sam Hauser Out Saturday

Boston Celtics forward Sam Hauser (hamstring) has been ruled out for Saturday's matchup against the San Antonio Spurs. The 28-year-old sniper wasn't on the initial injury report, but the team has announced that Hauser won't play due to right hamstring tightness. Hauser has logged 30-plus minutes in back-to-back games as a starter, so his absence marks a significant blow for Boston. With Hauser unavailable, Jordan Walsh will probably return to the starting unit. Hugo Gonzalez and Anfernee Simons may also cover some of his minutes.

Sam Hauser Makes Fifth Start of the Campaign

Boston Celtics forward Sam Hauser will join the first unit on Saturday against the Toronto Raptors, making his fifth start of the season. He will replace Jaylen Brown (illness). Hauser has struggled with his shooting this season, but he had an impressive showing on Friday against the Miami Heat, draining five of six attempts from deep to finish with 15 points. As a starter this season, the 28-year-old has averaged 2.8 three-point makes per game, putting up 9.8 points and grabbing 3.0 rebounds. On Saturday, Hauser faces a team that has limited opponents to 33.8 percent shooting from downtown.

Sam Hauser Available Versus Heat

Boston Celtics forward Sam Hauser (ankle) will play on Friday night against the Miami Heat. The 28-year-old sharpshooter tweaked his left ankle in Monday's loss to Detroit, exiting the contest after only four minutes. However, he won't miss additional time. As a three-point specialist, Hauser has a very favorable matchup on Friday, as Miami allows the second-most three-point attempts in the league. With that said, Hauser has not been much of a factor offensively this season, averaging 6.6 points in 21.6 minutes.

Sam Hauser Tweaks Left Ankle Monday

Boston Celtics forward Sam Hauser (ankle) played only four minutes in Monday's 112-105 loss to the Detroit Pistons. He left the action in the first quarter after injuring his left ankle. Initially, the team announced that Hauser was questionable to return, but he sat out the rest of the contest. In his absence, Hugo Gonzalez and Baylor Scheierman picked up more shifts off the bench. Gonzalez made a greater impact, scoring five points and recording five assists in 18 minutes. Boston will be off until Friday, when the team starts a back-to-back set, giving Hauser extra time to recover. Whether this will be enough for him to play and avoid his first absence of the season remains uncertain.

Sam Hauser Will Be Available Tuesday Against the Sixers

Boston Celtics guard/forward Sam Hauser (wrist) will play through a sprained wrist after being upgraded from probable to available for Tuesday night's road game against Philadelphia. Hauser has averaged 7.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in his 23 minutes per game this season. He has chipped in 2.4 three-pointers per game, and still carries some value as a sharp-shooter, but he hasn't been able to step into a larger role this season for Boston, even with Jayson Tatum (Achilles) on the sidelines. The Celtics are on the front end of a back-to-back, so he could get Wednesday off, but at least for now, it looks like the injury is something he'll shake off and be good to play through for now.

Sam Hauser Probable Tuesday Versus Philadelphia

Boston Celtics forward Sam Hauser (wrist) is listed as probable for Tuesday's in-season tournament game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Celtics already have a limited roster with Jayson Tatum (Achilles) out and many great players from last season traded away. Hauser has been called upon in some big moments this season, but he's only playing one minute more than last season at 22.7 minutes per game. The 27-year-old averages 7.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game for a team that needs currently help from everyone. Philadelphia allowing 118.5 points per game provides a nice fantasy matchup for Boston players with more team points expected. Hauser is likely going to play, but he'll have to get hot from three-point range to contribute strong from a fantasy perspective.

Sam Hauser to Step Into Bigger Role With Celtics After Jayson Tatum Injury

Boston Celtics forward Sam Hauser is expected to take on a much larger role this season with Jayson Tatum (Achilles) likely to miss the entire 2025-26 campaign. Hauser started 19 games last season and proved to be a reliable floor spacer, shooting 41.6% from beyond the arc. His ability to stretch defenses should help open driving lanes for Jaylen Brown and Derrick White, while also giving Boston another perimeter weapon in the starting lineup. While Hauser lacks the all-around scoring and playmaking that Tatum provided, his three-point shooting could make him a valuable complementary piece. Fantasy managers in deeper formats should keep Hauser in mind as a potential streaming option for threes and efficiency, though his overall ceiling remains limited with Brown and White set to shoulder most of the offensive load.

Sam Hauser Possibly on the Move?

Boston Celtics forward Sam Hauser is a player who could be on the move this offseason, according to Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix. The direction of the franchise is at a crossroads, with superstar forward Jayson Tatum (Achilles) not expected to suit up next season. As a result, the Celtics may look to shed some salary in an attempt to get out of the dreaded second apron while maintaining roster flexibility for Tatum's return. The 27-year-old, who agreed to a four-year, $45 million contract extension in July of 2024, has been a reliable option from off the bench while also getting some work with the starters along the way. He's appeared in 256 regular-season games for the Celtics since entering the league, averaging a respectable 7.4 points and an impressive 42.0% shooting from behind the arc. Hauser is someone to watch this offseason, especially if he gets more minutes on a new team. His departure could also open the door Baylor Scheierman to earn a routine spot in the Celtics' rotation come the 2025-26 campaign.

Sam Hauser Returns To Action Wednesday

Boston Celtics forward Sam Hauser (ankle) will rejoin the lineup for Wednesday's Game 5 against the New York Knicks. He has been cleared to return after missing three games due to a right ankle sprain. Hauser has been limited to 2.7 points and 1.3 rebounds in 13.0 minutes this postseason. However, he may now have a larger role in the rotation due to Jayson Tatum's (Achilles) absence. To become impactful again, Hauser must start hitting his threes again. He has finished four of his six playoff outings without a single make from behind the arc.
