Scoot Henderson Won't Start On Wednesday

Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson is not part of the starting five during Wednesday's season opener against the Golden State Warriors. The expectation was that Henderson would start alongside Anfernee Simons in the backcourt. Instead, Simons will be the point guard while Toumani Camara serves as the shooting guard on Wednesday. The hope is that Henderson will get roughly 20 minutes of action off the bench. It seems a bit odd that the rebuilding Blazers have opted to have their former No. 3 overall selection come off the bench, but maybe things will change over time. Henderson is worth rostering in most formats, but isn't a must-start right now.

Scoot Henderson Returns To Starting Unit Without Restrictions

Portland Trail Blazers point guard Scoot Henderson will rejoin the starting lineup on Monday versus Chicago and reportedly won't have any minutes restrictions. He's come off the bench in three of the past five games, averaging only 25.4 minutes. The 20-year-old rookie has seen 30.9 minutes as a starter across the season, scoring 13.6 points in the role and handing out 5.7 assists. The Bulls are mediocre at best defensively, so it's going to be exciting to see what Henderson can do now that he's back in a starting role. The lineup change pushes Dalano Banton to the bench, which is quite unfortunate for him after he's had a few really strong games lately. Anfernee Simons, Kris Murray, Toumani Camara, and Deandre Ayton make up the rest of the starting unit.

Scoot Henderson Back In The Lineup Saturday

Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson (adductor) will play on Saturday against Toronto. The rookie has been out of the lineup for the last eight games because of an adductor injury. He's averaged 12.9 points and 4.7 assists in his inaugural year. However, with Shaedon Sharpe (abdomen) and Malcolm Brogdon (elbow) still sidelined, Henderson may benefit on the scoring end, even if he's limited in his first game back from his lengthy layoff.

Scoot Henderson Expected To Miss Another Game

Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson (adductor) has been marked as doubtful on the latest injury report ahead of the team's game against the Houston Rockets. The rookie point guard has missed the team's last seven consecutive games and it seems like he'll miss an eighth. This year hasn't gone as well as most expected after the NBA Draft. There were hopes of a Rookie of the Year race against Victor Wembanyama, but Henderson has at least grown and improved as the year went on. Most of the backcourt is going to miss this game, so Anfernee Simons, Dalano Banton, Rayan Rupert, and Ashton Hagans will have to split up the minutes.

Scoot Henderson To Remain Sidelined On Wednesday

Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson (groin) has been ruled out ahead of Wednesday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. This is getting frustrating for fantasy managers as Henderson has already missed the Blazers' entire road trip. The hope was that Henderson would be ready after that. At this point, the Blazers have no incentive to push Henderson back on the court given their place in the current standings. Dalano Banton figures to continue starting until Henderson returns. He doesn't offer great value, but is someone worth looking at in deep leagues.

Scoot Henderson Ruled Out Again On Friday

Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson (groin) will be sidelined again on Friday after being officially ruled out for the fourth consecutive game. The rookie point guard will now have missed 15 games so far this season, which means he can only miss two more games and still be eligible for regular-season awards. To make matters worse, the Blazers are currently riding a nine-game losing streak and will be without most of their core players for this game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Anfernee Simons should get most of the minutes in the backcourt, while Matisse Thybulle, Ashton Hagans, and Dalano Banton will see added time off of the bench since the other core backcourt members are all out.

Scoot Henderson Expected To Miss Road Trip

Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson (groin) is expected to sit out the entire upcoming three-game road trip. The rookie guard hasn't played since before the All-Star break. He has already been ruled out for Tuesday's game which marks his third absence in a row. His next chance to play will be against the Oklahoma City Thunder on March 6th. However, the struggling Blazers really have no incentive to rush their young guard back onto the court. Kris Murray figures to continue starting in his place which should give him a boost in fantasy value.

Scoot Henderson Remains Out On Tuesday

Portland Trail Blazers point guard Scoot Henderson (groin) won't be available to face the Heat on Tuesday. He's been ruled out for a third straight game with an adductor strain. The injury has come at a bad time for Henderson, as he had just made his way back into the starting unit, and Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups has committed to starting the young guard for the rest of the season. Kris Murray has replaced Henderson in the starting five. He's produced a pair of all-around fantasy lines and could be a sneaky fantasy play on Tuesday.

Scoot Henderson Ruled Out For Friday

Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson (groin) has been ruled out ahead of Friday's game against the Denver Nuggets. The rookie guard has been banged up due to injuries this season, but Henderson has played well whenever he's healthy. Recently, head coach Chauncey Billups said that Henderson will remain in the starting five for the rest of the season. That move to the starting unit should give him increased fantasy value going forward. However, Matisse Thybulle should continue starting until Henderson is ready to play again.

Scoot Henderson Available On Thursday

Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson (foot) is available ahead of Thursday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. As expected, Henderson will suit up for this game after being listed as probable heading into the contest. He'll move into the starting five for the first time since January 14th. Henderson has been playing better lately and should see an increased role during the second half of the season. Matisse Thybulle will head to the bench with Henderson getting the starting nod.
