Toumani Camara Out For Rest Of Season

Portland Trail Blazers forward Toumani Camara (ribs, kidney) will miss the rest of the 2023-24 NBA season. He will be out for a second straight game on Monday versus Orlando, and the team isn't expecting him back due to a fractured left rib and a small laceration in the kidney suffered against Atlanta last Wednesday. Camara was enjoying a strong stretch as a starter before the injuries. The 52nd pick of last year's draft ends his rookie campaign with averages of 7.5 points and 4.9 rebounds across 24.8 minutes. Jabari Walker should see extra action for the rest of the way with Camara out of the picture, especially if Jerami Grant (hamstring) continues to miss time.

Toumani Camara Will Not Play Friday

Portland Trail Blazers forward Toumani Camara (ribs) is listed as out for Friday's game against the Miami Heat because of a left rib contusion. The 23-year-old has been performing well as of late and has seen at least 30 minutes of playing time in the last four games. Camara's absence comes at a difficult time for Portland's frontcourt, as Jerami Grant (hamstring) is listed as doubtful, while Deandre Ayton (elbow) is questionable. Jabari Walker will likely take on a more significant workload if either of those guys miss Friday's contest.

Toumani Camara Available For Friday's Contest

Portland Trail Blazers forward Toumani Camara (hand) is available ahead of Friday's game against the Houston Rockets. He'll make his return to the court after sitting out Wednesday's game due to a right hand sprain. The expectation is that Camara will slide right into the starting five with Jerami Grant (hamstring) and Jabari Walker (hip) sitting this game out. Camara isn't a great streaming option, but does offer some value given the lack of depth on the Blazers roster right now.

Toumani Camara Questionable On Friday

Portland Trail Blazers forward Toumani Camara (illness) has been reported as questionable in their first iteration of the injury report for Friday night. It's unclear how severe Camara's illness is right now, so this seems like a waiting game to figure out how he feels on Friday before going through shootaround. He was unable to play in the team's last two games, so the questionable tag seems to be a trend in the right direction. If he does miss his third consecutive game, however, Jerami Grant (hamstring) could be in line for heavy minutes if he plays. Otherwise, Kris Murray would likely remain in the starting five while Jabari Walker sees extra minutes as the backup.

Toumani Camara Won't Play On Wednesday

Portland Trail Blazers forward Toumani Camara (hand) has been ruled out ahead of Wednesday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. This marks the second game in a row that Camara has missed due to a hand sprain. Dalano Banton and Jabari Walker both started the last game but that was because Jerami Grant (quad) sat out as well. Currently, Grant is listed as questionable coming into this game. Whoever starts between Walker and Banton would have increased streaming value for Wednesday's slate.

Toumani Camara Out With An Illness

Portland Trail Blazers power forward Toumani Camara (illness) won't feature against Minnesota on Monday. He landed on the injury report fairly late with an illness and hasn't had enough time to shake off the bug. The Belgium-born forward has been a starter for Portland lately and comes out of the lineup following a 36-minute outing versus Memphis. With the Trail Blazers lineup down to bare bones, we should get to know the likes of Jabari Walker, Dalano Banton, Kris Murray, and Ashton Hagans better on Monday night, with all four poised to get plenty of burn.

Toumani Camara Gets Starting Nod

Portland Trail Blazers forward Toumani Camara will move into the starting five ahead of Tuesday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Blazers have decided to give Camara the starting nod and shift Jabari Walker back to the second unit. Walker has been a decent streaming option lately, but a move to the bench is going to hurt his value. Camara hasn't been productive enough most nights to warrant streaming in 12-team fantasy formats.

Toumani Camara Questionable For Meeting With Dallas

Portland Trail Blazers forward Toumani Camara (knee) is questionable for Wednesday's matchup against the Mavericks. The 23-year-old rookie is dealing with right knee soreness and could be forced to take a seat for a second consecutive game. Camara missed his first action of the season Monday versus the Suns. He was forced to exit the lineup after just posting his first career double-double against San Antonio with 13 points and 11 rebounds, adding three steals to his line. The second-round pick has been a regular starter for the Blazers, averaging 7.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.1 steals in the role. Matisse Thybulle started in Camara's absence on Monday and had a great game defensively, with two steals and two blocks. However, fantasy managers have to remember that he's very limited in other areas, and Thybulle might not be a great pick-up for Wednesday's action.

Toumani Camara Downgraded To Out Against Suns

Portland Trail Blazers forward Toumani Camara (knee) has been downgraded from questionable to out on Monday night. This will be the rookie's first missed game of the season after being able to play through his previous ailments. It seems like the team isn't going to risk anything with his knee soreness, especially after showing some flashes of promise after moving into the starting lineup. In his 22 starts this year, Camara averages 7.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 1.1 turnovers per game. He's not valuable in most fantasy leagues right now, but will continue to see opportunities when healthy. In this contest, Jabari Walker will likely see some added minutes and may even move into the starting five.

Toumani Camara Good To Go Versus The Spurs

Portland Trail Blazers forward Toumani Camara (thumb) is available for Friday's rematch against the Spurs. The 23-year-old had been listed as questionable because of right thumb soreness. However, he's good to go, which is good news for Portland, considering the team won't have Deandre Ayton (knee), Anfernee Simons (illness), and Shaedon Sharpe (adductor). That said, Camara has averaged 7.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in 21 starts this season. While that doesn't make him a reliable fantasy option, his upside is higher, with three of Portland's prominent scorers out of the equation.
