Robert Williams III News

Robert Williams III Active on Monday Night

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) is active on Monday against the Dallas Mavericks. After sitting out the first leg of a back-to-back on Sunday against the Boston Celtics, he will resume his duties as the backup center. Yang Hansen and Duop Reath will drop down the depth chart. Williams has averaged 6.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in 15.9 minutes this season. He may be a bit more productive on Monday night, as Dallas gives up the most points in the league to centers.

Robert Williams III Inactive on Sunday

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) will sit out the first leg of a back-to-back on Sunday against the Boston Celtics. It would have been a special matchup for him against his former team, but Williams III also played on Friday night. By keeping him off the floor against Boston, the Trail Blazers will have Williams III play two games in four nights instead of three, reducing injury risk. Duop Reath will serve as the main backup center on Sunday. Williams III will presumably return to the lineup for Monday's favorable matchup against the Dallas Mavericks, who give up the fifth-most fantasy points to centers.

Robert Williams III Available on Friday Night

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) is available for Friday's matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers. He wasn't available in the loss to Orlando on Tuesday. However, despite popping back up on the injury report ahead of this one, the 28-year-old will suit up. Williams has averaged 6.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks this season. Unfortunately, that type of production won't earn him a place in most fantasy lineups, especially since he'll continue to operate behind Donovan Clingan.

Robert Williams III Sits Out Tuesday's Game

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) will miss Tuesday's encounter with the Orlando Magic. The injury-prone big man will get the night off to rest his bad knee after making a fourth consecutive appearance in Monday's loss to the Detroit Pistons. With Williams III sidelined, Duop Reath will probably get a slight bump in playing time behind starting center Donovan Clingan. The Portland bigs are in a tricky spot on Tuesday, as Orlando generally contains centers well. However, Goga Bitadze's (knee) absence will work in their favor.

Robert Williams III Available Against Golden State

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (illness) will play on Sunday against the Warriors. The 28-year-old will return from a two-game stint on the shelf. He would have been in line to start had Donovan Clingan (leg) been ruled out. However, Clingan is available, so Williams isn't the best fantasy option in any format, especially versus Golden State, a team that has been solid on the defensive end during the 2025 campaign.

Robert Williams III, Yang Hansen Out Thursday

Portland Trail Blazers centers Robert Williams III (illness) and Yang Hansen (face) have been ruled out for Thursday's matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans. Both players were listed as questionable on the initial injury report. Donovan Clingan (leg) also won't play against New Orleans, leaving Duop Reath as the only natural center in the Trail Blazers lineup. Kris Murray will probably also handle some of the minutes at the five position. Reath has had a very limited role with Portland this season, but he did post 12 points in 19 minutes during Sunday's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Robert Williams III Now Questionable Versus Memphis

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (illness) is questionable for Sunday's meeting with the Memphis Grizzlies. He just popped up on the injury report because of an illness. Under normal circumstances, this wouldn't be an issue. However, with Donovan Clingan (leg) not a lock to suit up after missing Friday's loss to the Detroit Pistons, Williams could be needed to start. If Williams and Clingan aren't available, Duop Reath would be the favorite to replace them in the rotation. The 29-year-old hasn't started since the 2023 campaign, when he averaged 13.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 37.4% shooting from behind the arc in 20 appearances with the first-five.

Donovan Clingan Out, Robert Williams III in for Portland Friday

Portland Trail Blazers center Donovan Clingan (leg) will miss Friday's action against the Detroit Pistons. He has been downgraded from questionable to out. Meanwhile, the Trail Blazers will have Robert Williams III (knee) back in the mix on Friday, helping to compensate for the absence of Clingan. Williams III will start the contest, with Duop Reath providing backup at the center position. Kris Murray (hip) may also pick up some of the available minutes in his return from a one-game absence.

Robert Williams III Sidelined Against Thunder

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game in Oklahoma City due to knee maintenance. Williams has averaged 4.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks in 12.8 minutes this season, and his last five games included 5.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks on 60.9 percent shooting. With Williams sidelined and Donovan Clingan (knee) available to start, Portland will consolidate its interior workload around Clingan, who has been a steady rebounder and finisher. Yang Hansen and Duop Reath profile as deep-league streamers for rebounds and blocks, while Deni Avdija and Jerami Grant could absorb extra minutes in smaller lineups if Portland adjusts its rotation.

Robert Williams III Could Make Season Debut on Friday

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) has been listed as questionable for Friday's matchup with the Denver Nuggets. The former Celtic was assigned to the Blazers' G League affiliate for rehab purposes, and now has a chance to make his season debut. Since joining the Blazers in 2023-24, Williams has appeared in a total of 26 games (three starts). The injury bug has hit him hard over the years, as shown by the fact that he's only registered two seasons with more than 35 games played. With that being said, he does deliver solid rebounding (6.8 per game) and blocks (1.7). It's unclear how he'll slot into the rotation right now, but it's likely that Duop Reath and Yang Hansen would be the two to see fewer minutes.
