Robert Williams III News

Robert Williams III Sidelined Against Thunder

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game in Oklahoma City due to knee maintenance. Williams has averaged 4.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks in 12.8 minutes this season, and his last five games included 5.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks on 60.9 percent shooting. With Williams sidelined and Donovan Clingan (knee) available to start, Portland will consolidate its interior workload around Clingan, who has been a steady rebounder and finisher. Yang Hansen and Duop Reath profile as deep-league streamers for rebounds and blocks, while Deni Avdija and Jerami Grant could absorb extra minutes in smaller lineups if Portland adjusts its rotation.

Robert Williams III Could Make Season Debut on Friday

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) has been listed as questionable for Friday's matchup with the Denver Nuggets. The former Celtic was assigned to the Blazers' G League affiliate for rehab purposes, and now has a chance to make his season debut. Since joining the Blazers in 2023-24, Williams has appeared in a total of 26 games (three starts). The injury bug has hit him hard over the years, as shown by the fact that he's only registered two seasons with more than 35 games played. With that being said, he does deliver solid rebounding (6.8 per game) and blocks (1.7). It's unclear how he'll slot into the rotation right now, but it's likely that Duop Reath and Yang Hansen would be the two to see fewer minutes.

Robert Williams III Ruled Out for Wednesday

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (conditioning) won't play in Wednesday's matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Williams III practiced fully on Monday but needs to improve his conditioning before being ready for action. With Deandre Ayton now in L.A., Williams III has a chance to make a bigger impact with the Trail Blazers. But he needs to be available for his team, and that's always been an issue with Williams III. On Wednesday night, Yang Hansen and Duop Reath will serve as backups for starting center Donovan Clingan.

Robert Williams III Not Sure When He'll Be Ready

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) has not been fully cleared to play after undergoing an arthroscopic procedure to address inflammation in his left knee last March. The original timeline was just four to six weeks, but Williams has taken longer than expected to recover. He said at Blazers' media day, ""Injuries are tough. They aren't easy for anyone. But as soon as I'm on the court moving and feeling like my old self, it goes away." He said that he and the team trainers have a target date, but declined to say exactly when that date is. He'll be important backcourt depth for Portland when healthy, and he showed last season that he can contribute meaningful numbers across the box score when available.

Robert Williams III Expects To Be Ready For Training Camp

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) experienced another season plagued by health issues in 2024-25, but he hopes to be "injury-free" next season. Williams III made only 20 appearances before undergoing an arthroscopic procedure to address inflammation in his left knee, which ended his season in March. He fully expects to be ready by training camp. A healthy Williams III can be a valuable asset for fantasy managers. The 27-year-old has averaged 7.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks in 20.2 minutes throughout his career.

Robert Williams III Out For Remainder Of Season

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) is out for the remainder of the 2024-25 season with a knee injury. Williams has missed 11 of the team's last 12 games with left knee soreness. He was last available when the Blazers lost to the New York Knicks on March 12 but did not play. Williams has played 20 games this season, averaging 5.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game with his field goal percentage being 64.1%. When he plays, Williams flashes his talent, but he hasn't been able to stay consistently healthy.

Robert Williams III Undergoes Another Knee Surgery

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) underwent surgery on his left knee on Thursday to address inflammation. He's "expected to make a full recovery" and will be sidelined 4-6 weeks. Without question, the 27-year-old is a difference-maker whenever he's on the floor, especially on the glass and defensive end. However, Williams has battled multiple knee injuries over the years. It's unknown if he'll remain in Portland. Yet, if Williams lands on the trade block, he will see plenty of interest from teams around the league looking for depth in the middle. With that said, he should have some productive fantasy outings moving ahead, although he'll need to figure out how to stay on the floor before earning the trust of fantasy managers.

Robert Williams III Out On Wednesday

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) will be inactive on Wednesday against the Memphis Grizzlies. The veteran big man has been out for nearly a month, making his last appearance on Feb. 20. It has been another frustrating campaign for the injury-prone center, as Williams III has featured just 20 times for the Trail Blazers in 2024-25. Duop Reath carries additional fantasy value in Williams III's absence, though he is not a difference-maker in fantasy basketball with Portland's starting center, Donovan Clingan, fully healthy.

Robert Williams III Unavailable Versus Wizards

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) will be unavailable for Monday's contest against the Washington Wizards. Williams has been out of action since February 22nd and will miss his 13th consecutive contest due to a left knee sprain. The 27-year-old has only played in 20 games this season, and a timetable hasn't been announced when he will return. With less than a month left in the regular season, the big man could very well be shut down for the final 14 Blazers games remaining.

Robert Williams III Ready For Action Against Knicks

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) will be active on Wednesday against the New York Knicks after being cleared to return from a 10-game absence. Williams III has recovered from a left knee sprain and will provide much-needed depth at the center position, especially with Deandre Ayton (calf) still out of the lineup. As a result of Williams III's return, Duop Reath could drop out of the rotation.
