Wayne Ellington Returns To Action For Wednesday’s Game
Los Angeles Lakers small forward Wayne Ellington (illness) has been given the green light to get back into action for Wednesday's contest against the Grizzlies. Ellington missed one game due to an illness, but he will return for a favorable matchup vs. a Memphis defense that is allowing the opposition to knock down triples at a 37.3% clip, the second-highest mark in the league. Threes have been the name of Ellington's game this year, with 136 of his 148 shot attempts coming from behind the arc. He holds solid DFS appeal Wednesday as L.A. remains without Austin Reaves and Kent Bazemore (conditioning) for the time being.
Los Angeles Lakers small forward Wayne Ellington (illness) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Rockets, marking his first absence since Nov. 2. Ellington had started each of L.A.'s prior six outings, with Malik Monk and Stanley Johnson likely to see elevated roles in the veteran's absence. Ellington has served almost entirely as a three-point shooting asset for the Lakers, with just four of his 41 shots over his last six games coming from inside the arc; despite that, the 34-year-old has not cracked into the double-digit scoring column since Nov. 24. Ellington did not travel with the team, which puts his status for Wednesday's game vs. Memphis into question as well.
Rajon Rondo And Wayne Ellington Questionable Friday
Los Angeles Lakers guards Rajon Rondo (ankle) and Wayne Ellington (hamstring) are both questionable to play Friday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Ellington has yet to see the floor this season while Rondo is dealing with some ankle soreness after playing 16 minutes off the bench on Wednesday. Neither have offered fantasy appeal this season and are a few key injuries away from being on the fantasy radar when healthy.
Los Angeles Lakers guard Wayne Ellington (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest. The veteran guard remains day-to-day due to a lingering hamstring issue. The Lakers are hopeful that Ellington can get back into the lineup next week. There is a good chance that Kent Bazemore will lose playing time and touches once Ellington returns. There isn't a ton of value here, but Ellington could be worth monitoring in deep leagues.
Josh Jackson, Hamidou Diallo, Wayne Ellington All Out Sunday
The Detroit Pistons will again be staggeringly short-handed for Sunday's contest versus Chicago with shooting guard Josh Jackson (tooth), small forward Hamidou Diallo (health protocols) and shooting guard/small forward Wayne Ellington (calves) all ruled out. Saddiq Bey and Frank Jackson stand to see as many minutes on the wing as they can handle. Diallo went for a career-high 35 points Tuesday and stands to be a must-own fantasy commodity upon being cleared. Jackson and Ellington are upside plays that could benefit from further injuries across the depth chart. The next chance for any of the trio to return comes Tuesday against the Timberwolves.
Detroit Pistons guard Wayne Ellington (calf) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Washington Wizards. He was unable to play in Wednesday's game due to right calf soreness. Hamidou Diallo and Frank Jackson will see extended roles, assuming Ellington is forced to miss another game. Fantasy managers cannot trust Diallo or Jackson as reliable streaming options. Ellington has some upside, but only from the offensive side of the ball.
Detroit Pistons guard Wayne Ellington (groin) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Indiana Pacers. He has missed each of the last four games, so it'd be surprising to see Ellington suiting up here. There is a good chance that Detroit will rest him with the trade deadline on Thursday. Frank Jackson is someone fantasy managers should keep an eye on right now.
Detroit Pistons shooting guard Wayne Ellington (groin) has been ruled out for the third consecutive game Friday against Houston due to a strained right adductor. Frank Jackson drew the start Wednesday and played 31 minutes, but he has not proven to be a fantasy-relevant commodity even with the increase in time on the floor. Saddiq Bey has taken over the role of long range marksman for Detroit without Ellington available, a role that he figures to reprise so long as the veteran is not in the mix. Ellington's next chance to get back into action comes Sunday versus the Bulls.
Detroit Pistons shooting guard Wayne Ellington (adductor) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against Toronto due to a strained right adductor. With Hamidou Diallo (groin) also on the shelf, Josh Jackson figures to see a sizable workload Wednesday, ratcheting up his DFS intrigue. Ellington has remained a consistent three-point marksman for the Pistons when given minutes this year, but it's not difficult to foresee a path in which Detroit pivots to a youth movement down the stretch. Offering little else aside from made threes, Ellington is a category league option only at this stage. His next chance to suit up comes Friday versus the Rockets.
Detroit Pistons guard Wayne Ellington (groin) is listed as doubtful for Wednesday's matchup with the Raptors. Ellington missed Monday's game, with head coach Dwane Casey saying that he didn't expect it to be a long absence. Should the 33-year-old be forced to sit out once again, Josh Jackson could be in line for some big usage, considering the team could be down the services of Rodney McGruder (elbow) and Dennis Smith Jr. (health and safety protocols). Jackson makes for a savvy DFS play against a struggling Raptors' team.
