The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec reports that per the Baltimore Ravens' personnel notice on Wednesday, the team re-signed wide receiver Anthony Miller to a Reserve/Futures deal. Miller spent the vast majority of the 2024 campaign in Baltimore on their practice squad and wasn't elevated to the active 53-man roster until Week 16. The 30-year-old former second-round selection by the Chicago Bears in the 2018 NFL draft out of Memphis only ended up playing in two regular-season games for the Ravens and caught his only target for a gain of 16 yards. He was also active for both of the team's playoff games with Zay Flowers (knee) out and caught all four of his targets for 28 yards against the Steelers and Bills. Miller will stick around in Baltimore this offseason and heading into training camp this summer as valuable depth behind Flowers, Rashod Bateman and Nelson Agholor.
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Anthony Miller was signed a week ago and initially just looked like another fresh and healthy body to help get the Ravens through the preseason. However, Miller has made an instant impression with his speed and is at least in the mix late in training camp for a 53-man roster spot, according to The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec. It remains to be seen if he has done enough to pass Tylan Wallace on the receiver depth chart, though. Miller has made a few plays in just about every Ravens practice and had three receptions on three consecutive plays in the second preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons. The 29-year-old former second-round pick in 2018 by the Chicago Bears out of Memphis hasn't appeared in an NFL game since 2021, when he caught six passes for 25 yards and a touchdown in three games with Houston and Pittsburgh. Even if Miller somehow makes the final roster, he'll be coming off the bench for Baltimore.
The Kansas City Chiefs signed free-agent wide receiver Anthony Miller to a Reserve/Futures deal on Wednesday. Miller will be a long shot to return to NFL action with Kansas City. The 29-year-old has not appeared in an NFL game since 2021, when he had just six catches on 12 targets for 25 yards and one touchdown in three games with the Houston Texans and Pittsburgh Steelers. Miller was taken in the second round of the 2018 draft out of Memphis and had seven touchdown receptions in his rookie season, but after that it was all downhill. He caught 101 passes for 1,141 yards and four touchdowns in 2019 and 2020 before jumping around the NFL with several different teams. Miller will be competing for a roster spot with the Chiefs in training camp and the preseason.
The Indianapolis Colts signed free-agent wide receiver Anthony Miller to their practice squad on Tuesday. Miller last popped up on an NFL roster with the San Francisco 49ers late in August but hasn't appeared in a game since Week 12 of the 2021 season, when he was a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Overall, Miller has 140 receptions for 1,589 yards and 12 touchdowns across 50 games. Miller will add some depth to the Colts' receiving corps in hopes of getting signed to the 53-man roster at some point during the 2023 season.
The San Francisco 49ers signed former Chicago Bears wide receiver Anthony Miller to an undisclosed deal on Monday, according to a source. Miller has also played for the Houston Texans and Pittsburgh Steelers and will be a big speed threat for head coach Kyle Shanahan's offense. He didn't see any action at all in the NFL last year. With the Texans and Steelers in 2021, Miller caught six of 12 targets for 25 yards and one touchdown in just three games (one start). The former second-round pick was released by the Steelers this summer but will hope to earn his way onto San Francisco's final roster entering the regular season. Miller remains well off the fantasy radar at this time.
The Pittsburgh Steelers released wide receiver Anthony Miller on Tuesday to make room for newly-signed linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski. Miller did not appear in any games for the Steelers in 2022 after injuring his shoulder last August. The 28-year-old notched 33 catches and seven touchdowns as a rookie with the Chicago Bears in 2018 but has struggled since leaving the team following the 2020 season. He will hope to catch on with another team as training camps open in late July.
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Anthony Miller was promoted to the 53-man roster on Saturday. The veteran joined the team's practice squad a few months ago but was elevated after tight end Eric Ebron (knee) recently landed on Injured Reserve. However, it's expected that Miller won't get much action in Week 12 against the Cincinnati Bengals, especially since he will battle for targets with Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool, Najee Harrisand Pat Freiermuth. As a result, fantasy managers needing to fill a void should certainly look elsewhere.
The Pittsburgh Steelers signed wide receiver Anthony Miller and defensive tackle Isaiah Mack to their practice squad on Tuesday. In a corresponding move, the team released nose tackle Eli Ankou from the practice squad. Miller caught five passes on 11 targets for 23 yards and a touchdown in just two games with the Houston Texans before getting cut. In his third and final season with the Chicago Bears in 2020, Miller had 49 catches on 76 targets for 485 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games (six starts). The 27-year-old will provide valuable depth now that JuJu Smith-Schuster (shoulder) is likely out for the rest of the season. Miller could eventually join Pittsburgh's active roster, but he'll have much more competition for playing time than he did in his short stint with Houston.
Anthony Miller Expected To Sign With Jaguars Practice Squad
The Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to sign former Houston Texans wide receiver Anthony Miller to the practice squad. Houston released Miller last Wednesday after trading a late-round draft pick to acquire the receiver. The 27-year-old caught 5-of-11 targets for 23 yards and a touchdown over two games for the Texans in 2021. Miller could see an expanded role with Jacksonville once promoted to the 53-man roster. DJ Chark (ankle) is on injured reserve, and the expected signing of Miller was more for depth purposes. Fantasy managers can leave Miller on the waiver wire in most league formats.
The Houston Texans cut wide receiver Anthony Miller on Wednesday, according to a league source. The Texans acquired Miller from the Chicago Bears several months ago, but they have already decided to move on. He suffered a dislocated shoulder in the preseason and wasn't active the first two weeks of the regular season. In Miller's two starts out of the slot, the 26-year-old had just five catches on 11 targets for 23 yards and a touchdown while taking passes from rookie quarterback Davis Mills. Brandin Cooks leads Houston's receivers with 39 targets through four games, with Miller coming in second with his 11 looks. Veteran slot man Danny Amendola (thigh) could be returning soon from injury to replace Miller, but no receiver besides Cooks should be trusted in fantasy in this offense.
