Former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Anthony Schwartz is signing with the Miami Dolphins practice squad. The former 2021 third-round pick out of Auburn was waived by the Browns in the offseason with an injury designation. He was later placed on injured reserve and cut with a settlement. With a new contract, Schwartz appears to be healthy and ready to play if called upon. Speed is his calling card, so it's no surprise that Miami would be the team to sign him. He's just the latest former track star to join the roster in South Beach. Schwartz has tallied 14 catches, 186 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown across 25 games in two seasons.

Anthony Schwartz Placed On NFI List
The Cleveland Browns placed wide receivers Anthony Schwartz (hamstring) and Michael Woods II (Achilles) and offensive guard Colby Gossett (foot) on the Non-Football Injury list on Friday. Any of these three players can return to practice at any point during training camp or the preseason. Schwartz is the most notable for the Browns offense. The former third-rounder in 2021 out of Auburn has caught 14 of his 33 targets for 186 yards and one touchdown in 25 games (three starts) in his first two NFL seasons. Last year, he had just four receptions for 51 yards in 11 games (one start). The 22-year-old has disappointed so far and the Browns added receivers Elijah Moore, Marquise Goodwin and Cedric Tillman, so Schwartz is well off the fantasy radar entering the 2023 season.

Anthony Schwartz Faces Uphill Battle To Make The Team
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Anthony Schwartz is facing an uphill battle to make the team during training camp this year with Marquise Goodwin taking over as the vertical stretch receiver, but Schwartz's blazing speed gives him a puncher's chance. If Schwartz can improve his route-running, hands and toughness, he could make a case for himself. General manager Andrew Berry doesn't like to part with his draft picks, but Schwartz has struggled emotionally and physically and must prove he can handle the demands of the NFL. The 22-year-old has worked hard this offseason, though, and looked solid in organized team activities and minicamp. He caught just four of 10 targets for 51 yards and no touchdowns in 2022.

Anthony Schwartz, David Bell On Roster Bubble
Cleveland Browns wide receivers Anthony Schwartz and David Bell could be in danger being cut, according Zac Jackson of The Athletic. The Browns have made it a focal point to add to their wide receiver group this offseason. They brought in Elijah Moore, Marquise Goodwin and Cedric Tillman in the hope to increase their passing attack. That being said, Schwartz and Bell could be on the wrong side of the 53-man roster. Schwartz is a former third-round pick of the team from the 2021 NFL Draft. He has 14 receptions in two seasons, while missing significant time due to injuries. Bell is a third-round pick from the 2022 draft. He finished with 24 receptions and 214 yards in 16 games last season. Both players should be able to catch on elsewhere as depth options, assuming they don't make the Browns roster.

Anthony Schwartz Placed On Injured Reserve
The Cleveland Browns placed wide receiver Anthony Schwartz (concussion) on Injured Reserve. The second-year man suffered a concussion last Sunday and will now miss at least the next four games. In a corresponding move, the Browns claimed former Buccaneers wideout Jaelon Darden off of waivers. Schwartz was not heavily involved on Cleveland's offense this season, but his absence could result in increased snaps for Demetric Felton and rookie Michael Woods.

Anthony Schwartz Won't Suit Up Sunday
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Anthony Schwartz (coach's decision) is inactive for Week 7 against the Baltimore Ravens. He has just one catch on six targets this season and should be left on waivers in all fantasy football leagues. Expect Michael Woods to play in Schwartz's place, serving as Cleveland's No. 4 wide receiver.

Anthony Schwartz Won't Be Cut
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Anthony Schwartz won't be cut, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. Schwartz has had issues with drops throughout the preseason, with three occurring during Saturday's exhibition versus the Chicago Bears. However, despite his poor showings, Stefanski expressed his confidence in the second-year wideout. The 2021 third-round pick finished a miserable rookie campaign by catching only 10 of his 23 targets for 135 yards and a touchdown. With that said, Schwartz has a chance to move up the depth chart this season. Yet, unless the 21-year-old demonstrates he can be a consistent target for Jacoby Brissett and eventually Deshaun Watson (suspension), he won't be worth much to fantasy managers.

Anthony Schwartz Injured On Thursday
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Anthony Schwartz (knee) exited practice on Thursday after injuring his left knee. The 21-year-old is no stranger to injuries, battling a hamstring issue throughout the last offseason and training camp. He also missed three games in 2021-22 due to a concussion. He will be evaluated further in the coming days. However, if Schwartz misses time moving forward, Donovan Peoples-Jones may separate himself even more from the other young wideouts in the receiving corps.

Anthony Schwartz Finds The End Zone In Week 16
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Anthony Schwartz caught a five-yard touchdown on his lone target and added 24 yards on two carries in a 24-22 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 16. Schwartz was surprisingly part of the offense after having not seen a touch since November 7. The rookie wideout's first career touchdown was an easy one as he got wide open in the back of the end zone for Baker Mayfield's second TD pass. Schwartz has blazing speed but hasn't done much to separate himself on a weak Cleveland depth chart in 2021. Perhaps he will see some more chances over the final two weeks of the regular season. Cleveland faces the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17's Monday Night Football contest.

Anthony Schwartz, Harrison Bryant Active Against Raiders
Cleveland Browns rookie wide receiver Anthony Schwartz (concussion) and tight end Harrison Bryant (ankle) are active against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 15. Schwartz is coming off a concussion, while Bryant returns to action after suffering an ankle injury in Week 12. With Jarvis Landry out, Schwartz figures to be the third wide receiver on the depth chart behind Donovan Peoples-Jones and Rashard Higgins. Bryant will serve as the No. 2 tight end behind David Njoku with Austin Hooper out, so he could get some looks from third-string quarterback Nick Mullens in this one. Still, Schwartz nor Bryant have big enough roles to consider plugging into fantasy lineups, especially with Mullens making his first start in 2021.
