Brandon McManus Looking For First Field-Goal Attempt

Denver Broncos kicker Brandon McManus didn't attempt a single field goal in the 16-14 Week 1 loss to the Titans, but he did make both of his extra-point tries. McManus has a very strong leg and kicks half the time in high altitude, but he'll be on the road this week and just can't be trusted in fantasy yet while the Broncos offense tries to get in sync. Quarterback Drew Lock showed potential last week, though, and he has plenty of talented weapons to work with in 2020. The 29-year-old kicker will become a streaming option at some point this year, but it won't be in Week 2 against the Steelers, especially if wide receiver Courtland Sutton (shoulder) misses another game.

Brandon McManus Quiet In Week 1 Loss

Denver Broncos kicker Brandon McManus didn't attempt a single field goal and made both of his extra-point attempts in a 16-14 loss to the Titans on Monday night in Week 1. This game was a defensive battle all the way through. Just signed to a four-year contract extension last weekend, the 29-year-old has one of the biggest legs in the NFL, and it plays really well in the high altitude in Denver. But with the Broncos still finding their identity on offense with Drew Lock under center, there will be ups and downs. McManus will be looking for his first field goal of 2020 in Week 2 against the Steelers, but Pittsburgh's strong defense won't make it any easier on this offense. At best, we'd consider McManus a low-end starting option next weekend.

Broncos Extend Brandon McManus For Four Years

The Denver Broncos are giving kicker Brandon McManus a four-year, $17.2 million contract extension on Friday, including $9.5 million fully guaranteed. McManus has one of the strongest legs in the NFL and kicks half his games in altitude in Denver. The 29-year-old has hit 81.5 percent of his field-goal attempts in his six years in the NFL and has missed only three extra points in that time. If quarterback Drew Lock takes the next step in his first full season as the starter, McManus could easily wind up as a top-five fantasy kicker. With No. 1 wideout Courtland Sutton (shoulder) a long shot to play on Monday night, though, McManus is more of a low-end fantasy kicking option against Tennessee.
