Broncos Pick Up Options On Von Miller, Brandon McManus

The Denver Broncos picked up the 2020 options for outside linebacker Von Miller, kicker Brandon McManus and inside linebacker Todd Davis on Friday, as general manager John Elway previously said the team would do. Miller has made the Pro Bowl each of the last six years and is also a three-time first-team All-Pro, but he missed a game due to injury in 2019 and recorded single-digit sacks (eight) for the first time since 2013, when he played only nine games. Turning 31 later this month, Miller remains an integral part of Denver's defense and could bounce back in 2020 if he's fully healthy. McManus, 28, made 29 of his 34 field goals (85.3 percent), including four of seven from 50-plus yards in 2019. His big leg should play as at least a low-end kicking option next season. Davis had a career-high 134 tackles (78 solo), but he has two career sacks in six seasons in the NFL, limiting his IDP appeal.

Brandon McManus Hits Three Of Four Attempts

Denver Broncos kicker Brandon McManus hit three of his four field-goal attempts on Sunday afternoon, while also connecting on both of his extra-point tries. The three hits came from 29, 41, and 47 yards out, while the lone miss was a 43-yard attempt. McManus continues to be a middle of the pack option at kicker, posting solid performances week-to-week.

Brandon McManus Connects On Two Chip Shots

Denver Broncos kicker Brandon McManus connected on two chip shot field goals in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts. McManus hit from 21 and 29 yards out in the second quarter while also connecting on his only extra-point attempt of the day. The 6th-year kicker is continuing to have a strong 2019 season for the Broncos and is a viable option for owners in the kicker slot on a weekly basis.
