Brandon McManus Released By The Commanders

The Washington Commanders released kicker Brandon McManus on Sunday night. The veteran was recently accused of sexual assault in a lawsuit stemming from several alleged incidents that occurred during an overseas flight last season while he was with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Since then, McManus signed a one-year deal with the Commanders in March. However, he'll now be looking for work, although teams will unlikely consider signing him anytime soon.

Brandon McManus Accused Of Assault

According to ESPN's Michael DiRocco, Washington Commanders kicker Brandon McManus is being sued for sexual assault by two women. The alleged incidents took place while McManus was with the Jacksonville Jaguars, with both women, who were working as flight attendants, stating he "grinded up" against them during an overseas flight to London. There were other accusations, including one of the women reporting the 32-year-old trying to kiss her. McManus, who signed with the Commanders this offseason after being released by Jacksonville, finished the 2023-24 campaign by draining 30 of his 37 field goal attempts while making all 35 extra-point tries. At any rate, there will likely be more updates surrounding this situation. However, if the accusations are true, McManus could find himself without a team.

Brandon McManus Accused Of Sexual Assault

Two women are suing kicker Brandon McManus and the Jacksonville Jaguars, alleging that McManus sexually assaulted them during the team's overseas flight to London last year, according to court documents. The lawsuit was filed on Friday and accuses McManus of rubbing himself against them and grinding against them. The two women are also accusing the Jaguars of failing to supervise McManus and failing to create a safe environment for staff serving the team. They are seeking over $1 million and are demanding a jury trial. The 32-year-old veteran signed a one-year, $3.6 million deal with the Washington Commanders this offseason, but he could now be facing a suspension to begin the 2024 season. In 17 games for the Jaguars in 2023, McManus made 81.1% of his 37 field-goal attempts and was successful on all 35 of his extra-point tries.

Brandon McManus To Washington On A One-Year Deal

Free-agent kicker Brandon McManus agreed to a one-year, $3.6 million contract with Washington on Monday night. The 32-year-old spent his first nine seasons in Denver before landing in Jacksonville for the 2023-24 campaign. He had one of the best seasons of his career, connecting on 30 of his 37 field goal tries while nailing all 35 extra-point attempts. McManus finished last season a borderline top-10 fantasy kicker, so there's no reason to believe he can't come close to matching that level of production. However, there will be plenty of better kickers ahead of him in pre-draft rankings heading into Week 1. Either way, the veteran will likely find his way onto most fantasy rosters.

Brandon McManus A Fine Option Vs. Houston

Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Brandon McManus looks to hit double digits for the second game in a row when the Texans come to town in Week 3. The veteran boot is perfect on the year (4-4 FG, 4-4 PAT) and should have plenty of scoring opportunities in this one, as the Jaguars project to move the ball fairly easily against the Houston D. McManus isn't quite in the top-tier category with the Justin Tuckers', Tyler Bass', and Jake Moodys' of the league, but he slots in behind a number of those elite options. Consider McManus fringe top-10 at the position this week.

Brandon McManus Goes 3-for-3 Against Chiefs

Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Brandon McManus converted on all three of his attempts vs. the Kansas City Chiefs, hitting from 22, 32, and 49 yards out. The former Bronco supplied the only points for the Jaguars, as they lost 9-17. McManus has started off the year on a positive note, with a 100% conversion rate on both PATs (4-4) and field goals (4-4). He should continue to be a fringe top-10 kicking option.

Brandon McManus - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Brandon McManus is a strong option in Week 2 vs. Kansas City. McManus started his first year season in a Jags uniform on a positive note, nailing his only field goal attempt (45 yards) and converting all four extra points. The Jaguars will likely need touchdowns to keep up with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, but there still should be numerous opportunities for McManus to show off his strong leg this coming Sunday.

Jaguars Sign Brandon McManus

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed free-agent kicker Brandon McManus to an undisclosed deal on Thursday, the team announced. In a corresponding move, the Jaguars waived kicker Riley Patterson. After nine seasons in Denver, the Broncos released McManus earlier this week, but he has found a new home quickly. The 31-year-old had one of his worst seasons in 2022, going 28-for-36 (77.8 percent) on his field-goal tries while also going 25-for-27 on extra points in 17 games. However, he did attempt 13 kicks from 50-plus yards out last year and was a perfect 10-for-10 on kicks from 40-49 yards. In Jacksonville, he'll have a chance to become fantasy relevant again in an offense that is on the rise under young quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

Brandon McManus Released By Broncos

Longtime Denver Broncos kicker Brandon McManus has been released by the organization after posting his worst field goal percentage since 2017 last season. McManus converted on 28 of his 36 field goal attempts (77.8%) and 25 of his 27 extra-point attempts (92.6%) -- which were both the second-worst clips in a season during his nine years with the team. McManus has had a few top-12 fantasy scoring seasons among kickers, so if he lands on a team with a good offense, he may be firmly on the fantasy radar in 2023. He'll likely at least get a tryout with a team before the season begins.

Brandon McManus Busy In Regular Season Finale

Denver Broncos kicker Brandon McManus was busy in the Week 18 regular season finale against the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers while the team scored a season-high 31 points in a meaningless game. McManus was able to make all four of his extra-point tries and his lone field-goal attempt from 33 yards out on Sunday. The 31-year-old continues to be one of the more reliable kickers in the NFL with a strong leg, although he made only 77.8 percent of a career-high 36 field-goal tries in 2022. Fantasy-wise, the problem with McManus is he just wasn't scoring points with enough regularity, and he finished as the No. 22 kicker in the league in overall fantasy points in one of the lowest-scoring offenses in football. If Russell Wilson and Company can figure things out this offseason with a new head coach in tow, McManus could jump back onto the fantasy radar in 2023.
