Bryce Perkins News
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said that quarterback John Wolford will start in Week 13 against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, but rookie Bryce Perkins will also be available for the Rams, and there's "a chance" he could also play. Matthew Stafford (concussion, neck) will miss another game and may not return to play in 2022 with the Rams well out of playoff contention, so the Wolford-Perkins show could continue beyond this weekend. The 25-year-old Perkins has much more scrambling ability than Wolford, which probably makes him slightly more attractive as a desperation low-end QB2 in superflex leagues if he makes another start to close out the season. In his first career start last week, Perkins went 13-for-23 for 100 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions while also carrying the ball nine times for 44 yards.
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Bryce Perkins completed 13-of-23 passes for 100 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the Rams' 10-26 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He also led LA in rushing with nine carries for 44 yards. The 25-year-old looked shaky in his first career start. He was sacked three times. He was without two of the Rams' top receivers, Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Allen Robinson II (ankle). Matthew Stafford is in concussion protocol and is said to be improving, according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. If Stafford continues to make progress, Perkins will return to his role as a backup in Week 13.
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Bryce Perkins is expected to start against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 12. It will be Perkins' first career start. The 25-year-old threw his first pass in Week 10, a completion for a loss of three yards. He entered Week 11 in relief after Matthew Stafford left with a head injury and completed 5-of-10 passes for 64 yards. Perkins joined the Rams practice squad in 2020 after setting the single season record for yards from scrimmage while starting at the University of Virginia. He had an impressive preseason this year, completing 35-of-49 passes for 399 yards and two touchdowns while running for 73 yards on seven carries. The Chiefs allow the sixth-most passing yards per game, so it could be a good matchup. But Perkins is a risky option in his first career start.
