Los Angeles Rams running back Buddy Howell was added to the active roster ahead of the Week 4 matchup against the visiting Cardinals. The 25-year-old also got the call-up and was in uniform in Week 3 against the defending champs. However, as expected, he didn't do much. He probably won't be involved against Arizona, at least doing anything that will make him relevant from a fantasy perspective. Darrell Henderson Jr. (ribs) is also expected to be back, so that will basically bury any hope that Howell will do anything noteworthy.
Los Angeles Rams running back Buddy Howell has been promoted to the active roster. Howell was a member of the team's practice squad after having spent his first three seasons with the Houston Texans. While he likely won't get much action against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the transaction possibly paints a more definite picture of Darrell Henderson Jr.'s (ribs) status heading into Week 3. If Henderson is confirmed absent on Sunday, Sony Michel would likely handle most of the reps out of the backfield, with rookie Jake Funk coming in for relief.
With David Johnson on the COVID list, Houston Texans running back Buddy Howell was the surprise leading back in Sunday's blowout loss to the Chicago Bears. Howell rushed 11 times for 42 yards, plus added a three-yard reception. Howell could be in line for similar usage if Johnson misses another game, but with the fantasy playoffs in full swing, there's just no real reason to be targeting Howell on the waiver wire, as his ceiling and floor are both too low to be of use to fantasy managers.
Houston Texans running back Buddy Howell played a key role in Saturday's preseason win over the Detroit Lions, rushing 15 times for 84 yards and a touchdown. He wasn't targeted in the passing game. Howell seemed to be on the outside of the race for one of the final spots in Houston's running back rotation, but Saturday's game is going to give the Texans a lot to think about. Howell still seems like the least likely back to make the final roster, but he could land with a team in need of running back depth if Houston cuts him. There's some intrigue here in deep dynasty leagues, but not really anywhere else.
