Free-agent wide receiver Chester Rogers has agreed to a one-year deal with the Houston Texans. The 28-year-old visited with Houston on Monday, so apparently that went very well. This is a nice depth signing, but this won't mean too much in terms of fantasy football. Last season, Rogers finished with 30 receptions, 301 receiving yards, and one touchdown in 16 games (two starts) with the Tennessee Titans. Rogers is decent depth and a possible option as a punt returner. However, the Texans have plenty of options ahead of Rogers on the depth chart. It's hard to imagine Rogers having weekly value in Houston while the team is healthy.
Free-agent wide receiver Chester Rogers is scheduled to visit with the Houston Texans on Monday night. The 28-year-old has reportedly been drawing interest from multiple organizations this offseason. Last season, Rogers finished with 30 receptions, 301 receiving yards, and one touchdown in 16 games (one start) with the Tennessee Titans. He's a decent slot receiver and a possible option as a punt returner. He should land with an NFL team before the beginning of the season. It's unlikely that Rogers would have weekly value, but we'll wait and see where he signs.
Chester Rogers - Week 12 Outlook for Fantasy Football
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Chester Rogers will see an increased opportunity with star A.J. Brown (chest) ruled out for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots. The 27-year-old recorded four receptions on six targets for 41 yards in the Week 11 loss to the Houston Texans. Rogers will have an increased role in Week 12; unfortunately, it's against a tough Patriots defense which ranks number one against the pass. New England ranks 22nd in DVOA against WR2s; Rogers cold see some open looks but is not on the fantasy radar in Week 12.
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Chester Rogers (groin) did not take part in practice on Wednesday after getting injured in the Monday night win over the Buffalo Bills. Kicker Randy Bullock (shoulder) and backup running back Jeremy McNichols (ankle) also sat out of practice Wednesday. Rogers caught his only target for seven yards in Week 6, the second week in a row he's caught just one pass. The 27-year-old hasn't really taken advantage of a hamstring injury that has kept Julio Jones sidelined for two games, and Rogers could be in danger of missing Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs himself. If both Jones and Rogers are out this weekend, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine would be the No. 2 behind A.J. Brown in a great matchup.
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Chester Rogers (groin) is listed as questionable for Monday night against the Bills. The 27-year-old was limited during practice on Thursday and Saturday with a full session sandwiched in between on Friday. Through five weeks, he has caught 13 of 20 targets for 179 yards and a touchdown. The former Colts wideout had seen an uptick in usage with A.J. Brown and Julio Jones banged up, but the fact that both practiced in full all week long suggests that players like Rogers and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine will return to less-involved roles.
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Chester Rogers hauled in 5-of-6 targets for 63 yards in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the New York Jets. On Sunday, he had an expanded role with wide receivers A.J. Brown (hamstring) and Julio Jones (leg) ruled out for Week 4. The 27-year-old has now been targeted at least five times in three of the last four games. Rogers is buried on the Titans WR depth chart and is mainly a stash in deep-league formats even with the increased role. The former Indianapolis Colt has caught 12 passes for 153 yards and a touchdown in 2021. Rogers is not on the fantasy radar in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars unless Brown and Jones are ruled out.
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Chester Rogers will have an expanded role in Sunday's game against the New York Jets, with Julio Jones and A.J. Brown ruled out. He caught 1-of-2 targets for six yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 25-16 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine is expected to be the Titans WR1, and QB Ryan Tannehill has a "ton of confidence" in him. Rogers could carve out a role of his own as the team's second top pass-catching option. Fantasy managers looking for a boom-or-bust flex option in deep-leagues can use Rogers, but should expect the Titans to use star RB Derrick Henry plenty against the Jets in Week 4.
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Chester Rogers caught 1-of-2 targets for six yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 25-16 win over the Indianapolis Colts. QB Ryan Tannehill fired a six-yard touchdown strike to Rogers to give the Titans a 7-0 lead. It was his only catch of the game. The 27-year-old has now hauled in 7-of-13 targets for 90 yards and a touchdown over three games in 2021. A.J. Brown (hamstring) exited Sunday's game early; Rogers could have an expanded role in Week 4 but is a speculative add in deep-league formats.
Chester Rogers Leads Titans With 62 Yards Receiving
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Chester Rogers caught four of six targets for 62 yards in Sunday's 38-13 Week 1 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Rogers moved into the Titans WR3 role when Josh Reynolds (foot) was listed as inactive ahead of Sunday's game. The 27-year-old surprisingly led the Titans in receiving on Sunday. The Titans' offense struggled to get anything going as QB Ryan Tannehill was sacked six times. Rogers should continue to see an expanded role while Reynolds is out and is a name to monitor in deep-league formats. The former Indianapolis Colt will look to build on Sunday's performance when the Titans visit the Seattle Seahawks next week.
With both Allen Hurns and Albert Wilson opting out of the 2020 NFL season, the Miami Dolphins needed help at wide receiver. They got that help on Sunday, signing former Colts wide receiver Chester Rogers. Rogers won't set the world on fire, but he did have 53 catches for 485 yards in 2018 before dropping off last season. He's clearly not competing with DeVante Parker and Preston Williams for the top roles in Miami, but he could carve out a role as the team's No. 3 receiver. That's probably not a fantasy relevant role, but he could be worth a late pick in best ball formats just in case.
