The New York Giants are working out free-agent offensive tackle D.J. Humphries on Tuesday, according to NFL.com. The former first-round pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2015 started 98 games over the last eight seasons for the organization but was let go this offseason. The Giants are without star left tackle Andrew Thomas (foot) indefinitely due to a foot injury. After Daniel Jones was sacked eight times in the Week 7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the team is doing whatever it can to make improvements along the offensive line quickly.

Humphries will make $30 million over the first two years, and the deal includes $29 million guaranteed. The 26-year-old played in a full season in 2019 for the first time since going 24th overall in the first round in 2015. Humphries isn't the most talented left tackle in the league, but he'll bring stability at the position and help protect quarterback Kyler Murray's blind side moving forward.
