The Buffalo Bills signed free-agent defensive tackle DeShawn Williams to an undisclosed one-year deal on Thursday. Williams will give the Bills continued depth for their defensive tackle room that went into free agency with just Ed Oliver and Eli Ankou under contract. The 31-year-old Williams played in 16 games (10 starts) for the Carolina Panthers last year and finished with 33 tackles (13 solo) and seven QB hits. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2016 with the Cincinnati Bengals out of Clemson, and the Bills will be the fourth different team he's played for in six seasons. In total, Williams has racked up 148 tackles (72 solo), nine sacks, 11 tackles for loss, 30 QB hits, one interception and nine passes defended in 66 games (44 starts). Williams will be off the IDP fantasy radar.
The Carolina Panthers agreed to terms on an undisclosed deal with former Denver Broncos defensive tackle DeShawn Williams on Wednesday night. He will follow defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero from Denver to Carolina. The 30-year-old made 15 starts for the Broncos last year and racked up 37 tackles (21 solo), a career-high 4.5 sacks, four tackles for loss, eight QB hits and three passes defensed in his third year with the team. The former undrafted free agent should play a rotational role along Carolina's defensive line next year next to Derrick Brown and Shy Tuttle, but he can be ignored in IDP leagues.
Denver Broncos defensive tackle DeShawn Williams (knee) is questionable to return on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. The 30-year-old ranks third on the team in sacks this season, So hopefully, the injury isn't anything that will linger into the offseason. Nonetheless, considering the Broncos' season is unofficially finished, it would be surprising if he returned.
