Eli Rogers Hauls In One Pass Against Panthers

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Eli Rogers caught one of two targets for 10 yards in Thursday's final preseason tuneup against the Carolina Panthers. He also returned one punt for 10 yards. Rogers has hauled in four passes this preseason for 52 yards and has been fighting to earn a bigger role in the offense. He's had a very tough time staying healthy over his first three years in the league, but the team continues to bring him back. He doesn't hold any fantasy value at all, at least until he earns a sizable role as a slot receiver in the offense.

Eli Rogers Hauls In One Pass For 11 Yards

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Eli Rogers was targeted twice and pulled in one of them for 11 yards in Sunday's preseason game against Tennessee. He has just three receptions this preseason, but he is still fighting for snaps at the slot position in Pittsburgh. His prime competition is Ryan Switzer and rookie Diontae Johnson. However, Rogers started the final three games of the 2018 season, finishing with 12 catches for 79 yards. He holds no fantasy value during the preseason, but if he earns a role through the season's early- going, he could wind up being a solid flex play in PPR formats.

Eli Rogers Catches Two Passes Against Chiefs

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Eli Rogers caught two of his three targets for 31 yards in Saturday's preseason win over Kansas City. The 26-year-old is looking to earn a spot in the offense after missing the majority of 2018 with an injury. However, he earned a start in the final three games and caught 12 passes for 79 yards. Rogers is fighting with Ryan Switzer, Diontae Johnson, and Diontae Spencer for work in the slot this year. Even though Rogers has never truly broken out in his three years with the team, they seem to really see something in him and will likely continue to target him heavily this preseason. Either way, he doesn't hold any fantasy value but could develop into a streamable flex option down the road if he can gain enough chemistry with Ben Roethlisberger.

Eli Rogers Returns To Practice

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Eli Rogers (knee) returned to practice on Wednesday, starting the team's 21-day window to activate him from the Physically Unable to Perform list. Rogers is working his way back from a torn ACL last year and shouldn't be on anyone's fantasy radar the rest of the way.

Eli Rogers Expected To Start On PUP List

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Eli Rogers (knee) is expected to begin the regular season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, according to a source. Rogers is also facing a one-game suspension for a substance-abuse violation. He hasn't practiced all preseason and wouldn't be able to return until after Week 6. Rogers can be ignored in all fantasy leagues.

Eli Rogers Returns To Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers and wide receiver Eli Rogers agreed to a one-year contract on Wednesday. Rogers tore his ACL in January and was non-tendered by the team earlier in the offseason but will return to the team which he has spent the past two seasons with. The slot receiver visited with a few other teams, including the Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs but ended up staying in black and gold. Rogers has 66 catches for 743 yards over the past two seasons in Pittsburgh.

Eli Rogers To Visit With Browns

Free-agent wide receiver Eli Rogers left his visit with the Chiefs without a deal and will now visit with the Cleveland Browns, according to a source. Rogers played under current Browns offensive coordinator Todd Haley the last three years with Pittsburgh. The speedy receiver had surgery on his ACL in January and isn't even a lock to be healthy enough to make a roster. He's a long shot to carve out a fantasy role this year.

Eli Rogers To Work Out For Chiefs

Free-agent wide receiver Eli Rogers (knee) is scheduled to work out for the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, according to a source. Rogers tore the ACL in his knee in January during the playoffs but has made a quick recovery. He caught only 18 passes for 149 yards with one touchdown in 14 games in the regular season for the Steelers. Rogers is unlikely to have much of a role in KC if he signs with the team.

Eli Rogers Likely To Return To Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to re-sign wide receiver Eli Rogers once he is fully healthy. Rogers tore his ACL during the playoffs this past season and was released by the team in the offseason. The Steelers have a crowded wide receiver room but they will be looking to replace No. 3 wideout, Martavis Bryant, who was traded to the Oakland Raiders in April. Rogers has appeared in 27 games for the Steelers over his career, catching 66 passes.

Eli Rogers Becomes A Free Agent

The Pittsburgh Steelers opted not to tender restricted free-agent wide receiverEli Rogers, allowing the young wide receiver to become an unrestricted free agent. Rogers tore his ACL during the playoffs, an injury which could have played into Pittsburgh's decision to not tender him. The emergence of star rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster also likely played a role in the team's decision. Rogers saw a significant dropoff in statistics in 2017 with Smith-Schuster on the team. Rogers caught 66 balls in 2016 but just 18 in 2017. The injury may limit the market for Rogers, who could eventually help another team as a slot receiver.
