Joey Bosa News
The Chargers restructured the contract of linebacker Joey Bosa. The 27-year-old finished the 2022-23 campaign with just 10 total tackles and 2.5 sacks, appearing in only five games because of a groin injury. However, with the Bolts also reworking the deals of Khalil Mack, Keenan Allen, and Mike Williams, the team opened up over $40 million in cap space. That said, Los Angeles has some areas on both sides of the ball that must be addressed during the offseason, including signing quarterback Justin Herbert to a lucrative extension.
Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa (groin) has been officially activated from the injured reserve on Saturday. This is great news as the Chargers defense has been missing Bosa for months. The 27-year-old has been sidelined since tearing his groin in Week 3. Luckily, Bosa is healthy and ready to return to the field now. He is expected to suit up for the Week 17 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. It's likely that the Chargers ease Bosa into action considering how much time he has missed. Regardless, Bosa being on the field and getting in snaps before the postseason is great for this team.
Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley said that the plan is to activate defensive end Joey Bosa (groin) from Injured Reserve for the Week 17 game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Bosa was designated to return from Injured Reserve this week, and apparently the Bolts saw enough from the All-Pro pass-rusher in practice to feel comfortable throwing him out there this weekend for the first time since the 27-year-old tore his groin in Week 3. It's great news for the Chargers as they get ready for the postseason, but Bosa's return probably mean much for fantasy managers in IDP leagues. Bosa is a game-wrecker on D when he's fully healthy, but it's likely the Chargers will ease him back in during Weeks 17 and 18.
