K'Waun Williams Fully Cleared

Free-agent cornerback K'Waun Williams (ankle), who missed all of last year with the Denver Broncos after having ankle surgery, was fully cleared medically earlier this month, according to sources. The Broncos aren't going to bring Williams back, but five other teams have expressed interest in him and he'll most likely decide on his next team after the upcoming NFL draft. The 32-year-old played in 14 games (eight starts) for Denver in 2022 and had 44 tackles (30 solo), one sack, an interception and seven passes defended before missing all of 2023. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh in 2014 with the Cleveland Browns, and Williams has eight years of NFL experience. Now that he's healthy, Williams should be able to latch on with another team and provide strong cornerback depth.

K'Waun Williams Has Ankle Surgery

Denver Broncos veteran nickelback K'Waun Williams (ankle) underwent ankle surgery in North Carolina on Monday, according to a source. A decision hasn't been made yet on whether he will go on short-term or season-ending Injured Reserve, but either way it's a tough injury for a solid nickel corner who played in 14 games for the Broncos a season ago. The 32-year-old defensive back is expected to be out eight weeks after the surgery, but it remains to be seen if he'll see the field in 2023. In 14 contests (eight starts) in his first year in Denver in 2022, Williams had 44 tackles (30 solo), one sack, one interception and seven passes defensed. His injury is a pretty serious blow to the Broncos' secondary before the start of the season.

K'Waun Williams Ruled Out For Broncos Defense

Denver Broncos defensive back K'Waun Williams (knee) has been downgraded to out for the Week 13 contest against the Baltimore Ravens, according to a source. Williams was listed as questionable on Friday but now won't travel with the team to Baltimore. The 31-year-old is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery and will miss his third straight game. The good news is he was able to return to limited practices this week, so Williams should have a shot to return in Week 14 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Denver's D has been good at limiting opponents total yards and points per game, but they don't have much fantasy upside, especially in a tough matchup against Ravens dual-threat quarterback Lamar Jackson this Sunday.

Denver Nears Two-Year Deal With K'Waun Williams

Cornerback K'Waun Williams is reportedly close to signing a two-year, $7 million contract to join the Denver Broncos, giving the team a strong slot corner option. Williams appeared in 14 contests with San Francisco this past season, racking up 52 tackles, four passes defended, one interception, and one forced fumble. The 30-year-old has spent the past five years patrolling the 49ers' secondary, giving the Broncos defense a bonafide slot coverage man amidst a division teeming with strong wideout play. Denver's schedule may keep their defensive unit on the waiver wire in many season-long formats, but the team continues to amass talent that should make them an appealing DFS option in 2022 depending on their opponent.

K'Waun Williams Agrees To Stay With 49ers

San Francisco 49ers nickel cornerback K'Waun Williams, who recently visited with the Kansas City Chiefs, agreed to an undisclosed one-year deal to remain with the 49ers on Wednesday, according to a source. Williams also drew interest from the New York Jets. His career took off after joining the Niners in 2017, winning the job as the team's primary slot cornerback within a month. The 29-year-old played in only eight games last year due to knee and ankle injuries, though, recording 22 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble. Williams has played in 51 games and has tallied 172 tackles, three interceptions and four sacks in his four seasons with San Francisco. The 49ers focused on retaining their own free agents this offseason, also re-signing left tackle Trent Williams, fullback Kyle Juszczyk and cornerback Jason Verrett.

K'Waun Williams' Suspension Rescinded

The NFL rescinded San Francisco 49ers cornerback K'Waun Williams' two-game performance-enhancing drug suspension on Wednesday because of issues with the testing procedures, according to sources. Williams had stood by the fact that he never violated the league's policies on performance-enhancing drugs. It's good news for a 49ers Defense that can't afford to lose any more players this season. The 29-year-old defensive back dealt with an ACL sprain earlier this year and has just 14 tackles and two passes defensed in six games (three starts). San Francisco's defense is a fringe starting unit in 12- and 14-team leagues against a Rams offense that looked crisp against a tough Buccaneers Defense on Monday night.

K'Waun Williams Receives Two-Game Suspension

San Francisco 49ers cornerback K'Waun Williams has been levied a two-game suspension due to a violation of the league's performance-enhancing substance policy, meaning that he'll be out of the mix Sunday against the Rams and in Week 13 versus Buffalo. Jamar Taylor is expected to step in for Williams in the secondary, although the continued pilfering of key cogs on the 49ers Defense makes the unit a tenuous fantasy asset at this stage. Williams has collected 14 combined tackles, two passes defended, and one sack across six games this season. His next chance to return comes Week 14 against Washington, which likely coincides with the next occasion in which San Francisco's defense will merit solid season-long consideration.
