Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Kamar Aiken could have a bigger than expected role in Week 3. With Alshon Jeffery (shoulder), Darren Sproles (hamstring), and Jay Ajayi (back) all questionable at best and Mike Wallace (leg) out, the Eagles are running out of players to catch passes from the returning Carson Wentz. Aiken played 78 percent of the offensive snaps in Week 2 and should end up as the third option in the passing game behind Nelson Agholor and Zach Ertz. He's not a must-add at this point, but he's someone to keep an eye on in deeper leagues.
The Philadelphia Eagles are re-signing wide receiver Kamar Aiken on Tuesday, according to his agent. Aiken was cut from the team in training camp and will provide depth until Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) is able to make a return. Aiken had 15 catches for 133 yards and no touchdowns in 15 games for the Colts in 2017. He can continue being ignored in fantasy circles.
Markus Wheaton, Kamar Aiken Among Roster Casualties
The Philadelphia Eagles waived wide receivers Markus Wheaton and Kamar Aiken, quarterback Joe Callahan and running back Matt Jones as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players this weekend. It's a bit surprising that both Wheaton and Aiken were let go with Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) set to miss the first couple weeks of the season. Nelson Agholor, Mike Wallace and Mack Hollins should see their roles increase early on. Shelton Gibson and Deandre Carter round out the receiving corps.
Kamar Aiken, Markus Wheaton, Shelton Gibson On The Bubble
Philadelphia Eagles wide receivers Kamar Aiken, Markus Wheaton and Shelton Gibson are all on the roster bubble in training camp. Aiken has been seeing first-team repetitions and started in the preseason opener. He's been doing a good job of getting open, as his 26 targets are the fourth most on the team. However, he's only caught 10 of them. Gibson has been the most improved receiver on the roster, and his 18 catches are fourth most. He's closer to being a lock for the roster. Wheaton was more involved in the offense in spring practices and missed most of last week with an undisclosed injury. His experience is a plus, but his arrow is pointing down heading into the second preseason game. All three of these receivers are vying to make the team as receiver depth, so it'll likely take an injury ahead of them for them to fall into a bigger role that can help fantasy owners.
The Philadelphia Eagles are signing free-agent wide receiver Kamar Aiken on Wednesday, according to his agent. Aiken spent last year with the Colts, catching a career-low 15 passes for 133 yards and no touchdowns in 15 games. He had his best year with Baltimore in 2015, catching 75 passes for 944 yards and five touchdowns, but he's unlikely to make an impact in Philadelphia.
Chester Rogers and Kamar Aiken Post Lackluster Stat Lines to End 2017
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Chester Rogers caught two passes for 39 yards and fellow wideout Kamar Aiken caught his lone target for two yards in a 22-13 victory over the Houston Texans. After missing the first six weeks of the regular season with a nagging hamstring injury, Rogers went on to post a single 100-yard receiving game in Week 10 while failing to get over 40 yards in any other contest. Aiken is likely headed back to free agency after finishing his one-year deal with fewer than 15 receptions and just 131 receiving yards when he was expected to occupy the Colts No. 3 wide receiver spot. The wide receiver position is one that should look remarkably different for the Colts in 2017, with neither Rogers or Aiken likely to develop into startable fantasy assets.
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Kamar Aiken (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Aiken carried little to no fantasy value as it is outside of immensely deep leagues, meaning his absence likely isn't particularly devastating to owners. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett should have the exact same value that he had going into this game, that being a low end QB-2.
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Kamar Aiken (hamstring) was absent from practice on Thursday, per Colts.com. Aiken is unlikely to see much playing time on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers if he does manage to be ready, meaning he carries little to no fantasy value at present. He should remain on waivers for the rest of 2017.
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Kamar Aiken (hamstring) was limited in practice on Wednesday with a hamstring issue, per Colts.com. Aiken has largely been irrelevant in the Colts offense behind Chester Rogers, who has taken over No.3 wide receiver duties. After dropping a goose egg against the Houston Texans last Sunday, it should be clear that Aiken has no fantasy value whatsoever now that the Colts are featuring a more balanced attack. Leave him on the waiver wire for the rest of 2017.
Kamar Aiken a Full Participant on Thursday; Will Start Week 4
After putting in limited work in practice on Wednesday, Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Kamar Aiken (concussion) participated fully in the team's Thursday practice and looks ready to go for Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks. Aiken has been nipping at the heels of fellow wide receiver Donte Moncrief for the No. 2 wide receiver job thanks to Moncrief's struggles with drops. Fantasy-wise, Aiken has simply no upside against the Seahawks this week despite possibly getting more snaps, as he has caught only five passes for 42 yards in 2017. Until quarterback Andrew Luck returns and helps to return the Colts' offense to its former air-raid, Aiken shouldn't be rostered, let alone started.
