Kwon Alexander News
Free-agent linebacker Kwon Alexander is visiting the New York Jets on Tuesday, according to a source. The 27-year-old played for Jets head coach Robert Saleh while in San Francisco, reaching the Super Bowl together during the 2019 season. Last year, Alexander played for New Orleans, recording 50 tackles (39 solo) and one interception in 12 appearances. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2017 but has battled through numerous injuries ever since. The Jets allowed the most total yards per game last year, struggling both through the air and on the ground. They also ranked 30th in turnover differential. Any fringe fantasy players facing the Jets last year, particularly at the RB position, were a near must-start due to the matchup. The team did add a few other key pieces to the defense this offseason, namely safety Jordan Whitehead from Tampa Bay and cornerback D.J. Reed from Seattle, but they still have a long way to go to avoid being a matchup to target in fantasy.
New Orleans Saints linebacker Kwon Alexander will miss Monday's contest against Miami after having been added to the league's Reserve/COVID-19 list shortly prior to kickoff. New Orleans has a whopping 21 players on the list, leaving the team shorthanded for a crucial Week 16 matchup. Alexander has compiled 39 tackles -- seven of which have come for a loss -- four quarterback hits, three sacks, two passes defended, and an interception across 10 games (six starts) this season. The Saints defense remains a tricky season-long option, even with a solid matchup Monday; looking ahead, they will have favorable showdowns over the final two weeks of the year against Carolina and Atlanta. The next chance for Alexander to rejoin the mix comes in Week 17.
New Orleans Saints linebacker Kwon Alexander (illness) tested positive for COVID-19 and was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Sunday. He joins a long list of players as COVID continues to sweep through the Saints locker room. With New Orleans also down Marcus Davenport, Demario Davis and Malcolm Jenkins, the team will be short-handed defensively leading up to Monday Night Football versus Miami. As a result, Myles Gaskin, DeVante Parker, Jaylen Waddleand Mike Gesicki could see an increase in fantasy production for the Dolphins in Week 16.
