Packers Waive Kicker Lucas Havrisik

The Green Bay Packers waived kicker Lucas Havrisik on Tuesday, a source told Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. In a corresponding move, the Packers added kicker Lenny Krieg to their 90-man roster. It was believed that the 26-year-old Havrisik might keep the placekicker seat warm until rookie sixth-rounder Trey Smack was ready to take over. Kreig will now compete with Smack in training camp and the preseason. Havrisik made all four of his field-goal attempts and seven of his nine extra-point tries in just three regular-season games with the Packers last year in his second NFL season. In his rookie season with the Los Angeles Rams, he went 15-for-20 on field goals (2-for-3 from 50-plus yards) and 19-for-22 on extra points in nine games played. Fantasy managers will want to avoid Green Bay's kicking situation to begin the 2026 season.

Lucas Havrisik to Compete With Rookie Trey Smack for Kicking Job

The Green Bay Packers cut veteran kicker Brandon McManus shortly after they took Trey Smack in the sixth round in April out of the University of Florida because they were pretty convinced that the rookie would be their opening-day kicker, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN. However, Smack had some rough days during the offseason program and missed multiple kicks, so the expectation is that there will be a head-to-head competition this summer in training camp between Smack and Lucas Havrisik. The 26-year-old Havrisik is a former undrafted free agent out of the University of Arizona who has made 19 of his 24 field-goal attempts (79.2%) and 26 of his 31 extra-point tries in 12 games in just two NFL seasons with the Packers and Los Angeles Rams. If he wins the starting placekicker job to begin the 2026 regular season this fall, it will only be to keep the seat warm for Smack.

Lucas Havrisik Back to Kicking for Packers in Week 11

Green Bay Packers kicker Lucas Havrisik is back and will handle all kicking duties during Sunday's Week 11 contest against the New York Giants. Havrisik will be active on gameday with Brandon McManus (quad) listed as doubtful and not expected to play. The 26-year-old appeared in two games earlier this year while filling in for McManus, and he certainly impressed, going 6-for-6 on extra points and 4-for-4 on field goals, including one from 50+ yards out. The Arizona product has shown that he has a strong, powerful leg, and he should immediately return to the top-12 fantasy kicker range with McManus sidelined. Havrisik doesn't have long-term fantasy value, but he's an incredibly strong streamer for Week 11.

Lucas Havrisik Active as Packers' Kicker for Week 6

Green Bay Packers kicker Lucas Havrisik is active for Sunday's Week 6 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals. He will handle all field goals and extra points with Brandon McManus (right quadricep) inactive. McManus, listed as questionable, tested his injury pregame, but it was ultimately determined that he won't be able to kick on Sunday afternoon. Havrisik, a fourth-year journeyman kicker, will suit up in his absence. The Arizona product hasn't kicked in a regular-season game since 2023 with the Rams, when he went 15-for-20 on field goals and 19-for-22 on extra points.

Bills Sign Lucas Havrisik To Spark Competition

The Buffalo Bills have signed kicker Lucas Havrisik to their practice squad. The move is intended to create some competition for Tyler Bass, who has gone just 9-for-12 on field goals and 18-for-20 on extra points this season. General manager Brandon Beane admitted the team wants Bass to be their kicker going forward, but his struggles have necessitated kicker workouts and the signing of Havrisik. Now 25, Havrisik is coming off a mediocre rookie campaign with the Los Angeles Rams in which he went 15-for-20 on field goals and 19-for-22 on extra points.

Browns Re-Sign Lucas Havrisik

The Cleveland Browns re-signed kicker Lucas Havrisik to an undisclosed deal on Monday and waived quarterback Jacob Simon in a corresponding move. Havrisik returns to the team after recently being waived on May 14. The 24-year-old spent time on Cleveland's practice squad last year and also went 15-for-20 on his field-goal attempts and 19-for-22 on extra-point tries in nine games in his rookie season for the Los Angeles Rams. As things stand right now, Havrisik is third on the Browns' kicking depth chart behind Dustin Hopkins and Cade York, so he's clearly not a lock to make the team's final roster for the 2024 season out of training camp and the preseason.

Browns Add Lucas Havrisik On Futures Deal

The Cleveland Browns signed free-agent kicker Lucas Havrisik to a Reserve/Futures deal on Wednesday. The Los Angeles Rams cut Havrisik on New Year's Day after he went 15-for-20 on his field-goal attempts and 19-for-22 on extra-point tries in nine games in his first NFL season. The 24-year-old was not very consistent in his first year in the league and will be hoping to compete for a roster spot with Cleveland entering training camp this summer and the preseason. The Browns used Dustin Hopkins for most of the 2023 campaign, but they had to pivot and sign Riley Patterson, who kicked for the Detroit Lions earlier in the season, when Hopkins was injured near the end of the regular season.

Rams Waive Lucas Havrisik

The Los Angeles Rams waived rookie kicker Lucas Havrisik on Monday. The 24-year-old took over as the Rams' starting kicker in Week 8 and went 15-for-20 on his field-goal attempts and 19-for-22 on extra-point tries in the nine games he appeared in. Havrisik had a decent fantasy run from Weeks 13-16 by making 10 of his 13 field-goal tries and all 11 of his point-after attempts in four games. However, he didn't attempt a single field goal in the Week 17 win over the New York Giants on Sunday and missed two of his extra-point attempts. Apparently that was the last straw for a Rams team that wants to shore up their kicking position after clinching a playoff spot. LA will mostly likely audition kickers this week and in the Week 18 regular season finale against the San Francisco 49ers.

Lucas Havrisik A Solid Week 17 Option

Los Angeles Rams kicker Lucas Havrisik has remained the team's starting kicker despite struggles. Since becoming a starter in Week 8, Havrisik has made 15 of his 20 field goal attempts and 17 of his 18 extra-point tries. There was talk of the 24-year-old getting benched a few weeks ago but that has died down as of late. He has attempted at least three field goals in each of the last four weeks and has become an intriguing fantasy option. Consider picking up and starting Havrisik as he faces the New York Giants in Week 17.

Lucas Havrisik Has Some Fantasy Relevance In Week 16

Los Angeles Rams kicker Lucas Havrisik is teetering on the edge of fantasy football relevance for Thursday's game against the New Orleans Saints. For the most part, Havrisik has struggled during his seven weeks as the Rams' kicker, converting just 12 of 16 field goals while missing one extra-point attempt. Normally, accuracy concerns would warrant dropping a kicker to waivers, but the Rams' tendency to score points does give him some upside for Week 16. After all, the 24-year-old has posted double-digit fantasy points in two of his last three games, and there's reason to believe that this scoring trend will continue against the Saints on primetime television. Fantasy managers should certainly peruse the waiver wire for more reliable options, but Havrisik is ultimately a fine choice if you're in a bind.
