Marlon Mack News
Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack (Achilles) will officially miss the rest of the 2020 season after suffering a torn Achilles in the Week 1 loss to the Jaguars. Mack had four carries for 26 yards and three catches for 30 yards before leaving with the injury in the second quarter. It comes after he rushed for 1,091 yards in a breakout 2019 season. Mack has never played a full 16-game slate in his four years in the NFL, and he's set to become a free agent in 2021. Nyheim Hines and rookie Jonathan Taylor each had 15 touches on Sunday, with Taylor earning 89 scrimmage yards and Hines going for 73 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns while getting a lot of red-zone action. Hines will be one of the hottest waiver pickups heading into Week 2, while Taylor will basically be a must-start RB2 from here on out.
The Indianapolis Colts fear that Marlon Mack suffered a torn Achilles on Sunday. If so, his 2020 season will be over. Nyheim Hines took on a larger role with Mack gone, working as a receiving back as expected but also seeing goal line work. Both Hines and rookie Jonathan Taylor would see their value jump up if Mack's season is over, with Hines being one of the top waiver priority for fantasy managers this week. Meanwhile, Taylor likely takes over as the lead back earlier than expected and should be a weekly start running behind a good offensive line.
Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack (foot) suffered a potential foot/ankle injury midway through the second quarter against the Jaguars on Sunday. The veteran was carted back to the locker room, and with this injury being of the non-contact variety, it certainly doesn't look promising for Mack's outlook for the foreseeable future. His status for the remainder of the game and the season, for that matter, is uncertain at the moment. Nyheim Hines, who has two touchdowns already, and rookie Jonathan Taylor, will both likely pick up some extra work.
