Peyton Barber News

Peyton Barber Signing Two-Year Deal With Redskins

The Washington Redskins are signing running back Peyton Barber to a two-year deal worth $3 million on Tuesday. The deal includes $600,000 in guarantees. Barber entered the 2019 season as the starter in Tampa by default and ran the ball 154 times for 470 yards (career-low 3.1 yards per carry) and six rushing touchdowns in 16 games (seven starts). He added 16 receptions for 115 yards and another score. The 26-year-old lost playing time later in the season to Ronald Jones II and was merely a lottery ticket as a touchdown-dependent RB3/flex in deeper leagues. Landing in D.C. isn't the best place for him fantasy wise, as he joins a backfield consisting of Adrian Peterson, Derrius Guice and Bryce Love. Barber probably won't see many touches unless an injury or two opens up playing time for him.

Peyton Barber A Non-Factor Against Falcons

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Peyton Barber rushed just six times for 10 yards in the Bucs Week 17 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. He also added two catches for 25 yards on the day. Getting crowned the Bucs starting running back coming out of training camp was the highlight of Barber's season, as it was all downhill from there. Barber was merely a thorn in the side of Ronald Jones II all season long, and seeing as Barber is a free agent this offseason, it's likely that the Bucs move on.

Peyton Barber Not A Recommended Week 17 Start

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Peyton Barber was a non-factor in Week 16 even with Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (hamstring) out of the lineup. It was the Ronald Jones II show with the Bucs top receiving options missing, and that doesn't bode well for Barber's Week 17 outlook. The Bucs will play the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17, and while the Falcons Defense is giving, there is just no way to know which running back, if any, will be featured for the Bucs in this game. Barber will slot in as a low-end flex option for this week's matchup.
