Free-agent kicker Sebastian Janikowski announced his retirement at the age of 41 on Sunday after spending 19 years in the NFL. He made more money than any kicker in NFL history. Janikowski finishes his illustrious career being known as one of the strongest legs in football for a long time. He spent 17 of his years in Oakland and finishes his career making 80.4 percent of his 542 field-goal attempts. He made 58 of his 105 attempts from 50-plus yards and 129 of his 170 attempts from 40-plus yards.
Seattle Seahawks kicker Sebastian Janikowski was perfect on field goals once again, but that isnt what put him on the highlight reels this week. Instead, Janikowski is making all the worst play countdowns this week after he made zero effort to tackle Richie James on a kickoff return that went for a touchdown. Janikowski had a clear angle on James and was the last man who could stop him, but he instead slowed and didnt even put his arms out as James ran right by him. Its particularly egregious since SeaBass is listed at 61 and 260 pounds, so he brings a level of power to the field that smaller kickers cant provide. The shameful display obviously proved to be a back-breaker since Seattle barely lost the game, but hopefully Janikowski will make a different choice in the future.
Seattle Seahawks kicker Sebastian Janikowski appears to have gotten those misses out of his system. Janikowski shanked a coupled of extra points last week against San Francisco, but he was perfect against the Vikings on Monday night. In a critical game to help give the team some breathing room in the wild card race, Janikowski came through to give Seattle a 6-0 lead for much of the game. All the excitement for the rest of the offense came in the last couple minutes, but having that lead helped shape Seattles entire gameplan for much of the contest. The 40-year-old continues to be a great addition to Seattles squad.
Seattle Seahawks kicker Sebastian Janikowski was perfect on extra points coming into Sundays game, but that didnt last long. SeaBass missed the very first extra point opportunity he got on the day, and then he went on to miss a second one later in the game as well. Granted, Janikowski was called on for a season-high six extra points in the game, but he was definitely off the mark. Overall, Janikowski has been a solid kicker for the Seahawks, so fantasy owners should chalk this performance up as a fluke. He should be a solid option moving forward.
Seattle Seahawks kicker Sebastian Janikowski smacked the 33-yard game-winner through like it was no big deal on Sunday. SeaBass was perfect on three field goal attempts to help guide Seattle to another close win over a tough NFC foe, and he finished November with an 80% make rate on field goal attempts. His only miss came four weeks ago on his only attempt from more than 50 yards, but he's continued his perfect streak on extra points. Janikowski is a perfect 30-for-30 on extra points this season, and he's played a major role for a Seattle team that hasn't lost a single game by more than one score this year.
Seattle Seahawks kicker Sebastian Janikowski showed off again on Thursday as he put up another perfect game. Janikowski made both field goal opportunities as well as three extra points to put the game away for the Seahawks while his counterpart on the other side missed a field goal try that ended up being the deciding factor. SeaBass has only missed one field goal attempt in his last six games, and he's yet to miss an extra point on the season. Not bad for a 40-year-old.
Seattle Seahawks kicker Sebastian Janikowski nailed four extra points on Sunday in Detroit to bring his total to 17 on the season. He's been perfect on the tries this season, and while he got no field goal chances this week, he's knocked through at least one from 40+ in five of the other six weeks this season. Fantasy owners should feel completely confident in running SeaBass out there on a weekly basis.
In the last five games, Seattle Seahawks kicker Sebastian Janikowski has made 21 of 23 kicks he's attempted. Seven of those makes have been field goals, and six of those have been from 40+ yards. Janikowski is one of just seven kickers to have kicked 17 or more extra points and still make all of them, and Seattle's offense will keep giving him plenty of opportunities. He may be 40 years old, but SeaBass still looks like he can keep kicking for years.
Seattle Seahawks kicker Sebastian Janikowski played his part in putting down his old team on Sunday. Facing the Raiders in London, Janikowski went 2-for-2 on field goals and knocked through four extra points without issue as the Seahawks cruised to the 27-3 win. Janikowski has now been perfect in four of the last five weeks, and he's knocked through at least one field goal from 50+ yards in three of those five games. He should be a solid bet moving forward.
Seattle Seahawks kicker Sebastian Janikowski looked like he had lost it. Janikowski shanked a pair of field goals in the first half that left Seattle in a 3-point hole heading into the half, and with the offense struggling mightily, it looked like Janikowski's struggles might be the nail in the coffin. Instead, he came out with a new fire in the second half. Janikowski drilled a 40-yarder to tie the game in the third quarter, and he finished the day off with a stake to Arizona's heart by crushing a 52-yarder to end the game. Janikowski certainly isn't in his prime anymore, but his leg's still a cannon and should provide plenty of kicking points for fantasy owners.
