Philadelphia Eagles wide receivers Mike Wallace (ankle) and Shelton Gibson (hamstring) are both questionable against the Saints on Sunday for the divisional round. Wallace was limited in practice all week, while Gibson was added to the injury report on Friday. Wallace fractured his leg in Week 2 and hasn't played since, so he'd likely be on a limited snap count this weekend even if he's active. Philly's top three receivers on Sunday will be Alshon Jeffery, Golden Tate and Nelson Agholor regardless.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Shelton Gibson caught one pass on Sunday, gaining 48 yards. He only made one catch, but he made it count, gaining almost half the field. He's got some nice upside long term, but likely won't make enough noise this season to be worth rostering in redraft leagues.
Darren Sproles, Shelton Gibson Miss Practice Thursday
Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles (hamstring) and wide receiver Shelton Gibson (knee) both missed practice on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday. Mid-week practice downgrades are never a good sign, so consider both players questionable for Week 2 against the Buccaneers. Sproles will continue to mix in behind Jay Ajayi when he's healthy, but he's a shaky flex play as long as Ajayi is leading this backfield. Gibson isn't a fantasy option despite Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) being out. If Sproles is forced to sit out, Corey Clement would see a larger role behind Ajayi.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Shelton Gibson is expected to get his first start of his career at the X position on Thursday night with No. 1 receiver Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) being unavailable for the game. After a disappointing rookie campaign, the 2017 fourth-round draft pick showed significant improvement this offseason and continued his development through training camp. He had an excellent preseason, leading the Eagles with nine catches for 176 yards and two touchdowns in three exhibition games while also averaging 29.0 yards per kick return on six attempts. Gibson is a big-play receiver and is slated to be the team's main kick returner. The second-year pro is definitely someone to keep an eye on down the road and could be a sneaky flex play in DFS against the Falcons.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Shelton Gibson played well on Thursday, scoring a touchdown and catching five passes for 90 yards. Gibson has emerged this preseason, and with Alshon Jeffery still recovering from surgery, Gibson could end up with a significant role at least at the beginning of the season. He's worth a look in the last few rounds of deeper leagues.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Shelton Gibson (head) is in the concussion protocol at training camp, according to head coach Doug Pederson. Gibson had just two catches for 11 yards on three targets in Week 17 of last season and will be a reserve receiver for the club. You can ignore him in fantasy drafts.
Shelton Gibson Seems Like a Whole New Player This Year
Philadelphia Eagles sophomore wide receiver Shelton Gibson reportedly looks like a whole new player this season. Gibson was a fifth-round pick last season, but struggled through training camp and ended up playing just 17 snaps all year. He's been working harder this offseason but will still have a hard time finding playing time behind Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, Mike Wallace, and Mack Hollins on the wide receiver depth chart.
