The Chicago Bears are releasing wide receiver Taylor Gabriel and cornerback Prince Amukamara on Friday, according to a source. Gabriel played in just nine games in his second and final season in Chicago in 2019 because of injuries, catching only 29 passes (48 targets) for 353 yards and four touchdowns. He's still on the right side of 30 years old but offers a limited upside in fantasy and limited size (5-foot-7, 168 pounds). Gabriel did manage a career-high 67 catches, 688 yards and two scores in 2018. Depending on where he lands in free agency, he's likely to be a complementary piece of a passing offense. Amukamara, 31 this June, had 53 tackles (44 solo), a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 15 games for the Bears last season.
Chicago Bears wide receiver Taylor Gabriel (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 17 against the Vikings after missing practice all week. Defensive tackle Akiem Hicks (elbow) and nose tackle Eddie Goldman (concussion) were also ruled out. Gabriel has been out since Nov. 24 against the Giants and finishes the 2019 season with a disappointing 29 catches for 353 yards and four touchdowns in just nine games. The all-or-nothing deep threat just doesn't have much fantasy appeal with quarterback Mitch Trubisky regressing this season. Allen Robinson and Anthony Miller could both have big games this weekend with the Vikings resting most of their regulars.
Chicago Bears wide receiver Taylor Gabriel (concussion) missed practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 16 against the Chiefs on Sunday night. Gabriel hasn't practiced or played since suffering a head injury on Nov. 24 against the Giants. With the Bears eliminated from the playoffs, it's likely Gabriel won't play again this season. Allen Robinson and Anthony Miller are the team's top two wideouts, but it remains to be seen if they'll play a full game in Week 16. Miller has really benefited from the injury to Gabriel and the team's tight ends, and he's become an upside WR3 for fantasy owners.
Chicago Bears wide receiver Taylor Gabriel (concussion) remains out of practice on Wednesday. Gabriel hasn't practiced since suffering his head injury on Nov. 24 against the Giants. With the Bears now eliminated from playoff contention with two games remaining, there's a good chance we won't see Gabriel again this season. Allen Robinson and Anthony Miller remain the team's top two wideouts and are the only receivers with fantasy relevance in Chicago. Miller has seen his usage increase drastically since Gabriel's injury, and he'll be a strong WR3 choice in Week 16 against the Chiefs on Sunday night.
Chicago Bears wide receiver Taylor Gabriel (concussion) will be out again and will not play against the Packers in Week 15. Gabriel has already missed a few games, and after making not practicing during the week, it will be Allen Robinson and Anthony Miller serving as the primary receivers for Mitch Trubisky as the Bears look to remain in the playoff picture.
Taylor Gabriel, Ben Braunecker, Javon Wims Out Again
Chicago Bears wide receivers Taylor Gabriel (concussion) and Javon Wims (knee) and tight end Ben Braunecker (concussion) all missed practice for the second straight day on Thursday. All three are unlikely to play in the divisional tilt against the Packers on Sunday. Allen Robinson and Anthony Miller are both in play in most fantasy leagues in Week 15. A-Rob went for seven catches and 102 yards in the season opener against Green Bay, while Miller had zero grabs on just one target. Miller has come on strong of late, though, after a slow start to the year. Rookie Jesper Horsted is the best bet for production at tight end with Braunecker injured, but he should remain far away from starting lineups.
Taylor Gabriel, Ben Braunecker Still In Concussion Protocol
Chicago Bears wide receiver Taylor Gabriel (concussion) and tight end Ben Braunecker (concussion) are still in the league's concussion protocol and didn't practice on Wednesday. Wide receiver Javon Wims (knee) also missed practice. Gabriel and Braunecker are questionable, at best, and obviously shouldn't be counted on in fantasy lineups for Week 15 against the Packers. Allen Robinson and Anthony Miller are the only Chicago pass-catchers worthy of being in fantasy lineups this Sunday. Rookie Jesper Horsted is the best bet at tight end if Braunecker misses another game, but he's off the fantasy radar.
Taylor Gabriel, Ben Braunecker Ruled Out For Thursday
Chicago Bears wide receiver Taylor Gabriel (concussion) and tight end Ben Braunecker (concussion) missed practice all week and have been ruled out for Thursday night against the Cowboys. It'll be the second straight missed game for both players. Anthony Miller went off for season highs in catches (nine) and yards (140) in the Week 13 win against the Lions last week with Gabriel out. While the Cowboys present a much tougher matchup, Miller will be in play as a deep league flex option this week. Rookie Jesper Horsted caught his only pass for a touchdown last week, but he'll be a desperation TE2 streamer with Braunecker out again.
Chicago Bears wide receiver Taylor Gabriel (concussion) has not passed protocol and still is unable to practice on Tuesday. This is the veteran receiver's second concussion this season and his availability for Thursday's game against the Cowboys is in serious doubt. At this point, it is safe to say that Gabriel can be dropped in all formats and the chances of him returning this season are getting slimmer by the day. Receiver Anthony Miller will continue to see a boost in value with Gabriel sidelined.
Taylor Gabriel, Ben Braunecker In Concussion Protocol
Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy said that wide receiver Taylor Gabriel and tight end Ben Braunecker remain in the concussion protocol. That means they're both highly questionable to play in Week 14 against the Cowboys this Thursday night. Anthony Miller went off for his best game of the season on Thanksgiving with Gabriel out of action, so he could benefit again if Gabriel misses another game. Braunecker has an opportunity to produce with both Trey Burton and Adam Shaheen on Injured Reserve, but he's now in danger of missing time. If he does, J.P. Holtz and Jesper Horsted should split time at the position. Horsted had a touchdown catch on Thanksgiving, but you shouldn't be looking to any Bears tight end to help you in the fantasy playoffs.
