Tre Flowers News
Former Cincinnati Bengals and Seattle Seahawks cornerback Tre Flowers is set to join the Atlanta Falcons on a one-year deal. The 27-year-old corner brings much-needed depth to the Falcons' cornerback room. Rising star AJ Terrell and former No. 3 overall pick Jeff Okudah are slated to be the starting cornerbacks in the base defense for Atlanta, but Mike Hughes and Flowers could be the next men up after Atlanta released former Pro Bowler Casey Hayward. Flowers, a fifth-round pick in 2018, has totaled 259 tackles, 20 pass deflections, and four interceptions in six NFL seasons.
Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Tre Flowers (hamstring) injured his right hamstring in the Monday night game against the Cleveland Browns and has been declared out for the rest of the contest. Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (knee) was also injured earlier in the game and has been ruled out, so Cincy's secondary is extremely vulnerable, and the Browns have been taking advantage all night. Cam Taylor-Britt and Eli Apple have struggled on Monday night -- Apple was benched. If Awuzie's and Flowers' injuries are serious enough to cause them to miss time, the Bengals secondary could be in serious trouble for a Week 9 matchup against the Carolina Panthers before their bye in Week 10.
The Cincinnati Bengals re-signed cornerback Tre Flowers to a one-year, $1.85 million deal with $500,000 guaranteed, according to a source. Flowers was cut by the Seattle Seahawks after five games last season and then joined the Bengals for 11 games, primarily in a special teams role. The 26-year-old finished the season with a career-low 39 tackles (29 solo), one pass defensed and one fumble recovery in 16 games (four starts) with Seattle and Cincinnati. Flowers will likely have a similar role in 2022, putting him well off the fantasy radar in IDP leagues. He was originally a fifth-round pick by the Seahawks in 2018 out of Oklahoma State.
