Tyler Scott News
Chicago Bears speedy rookie wide receiver Tyler Scott is impressing the team's coaching staff at training camp while looking natural tracking down deep passes from quarterbacks Justin Fields and P.J. Walker. "The way he's learning the offense and the way he takes the concepts, he learns at a fast rate, which really helps him," head coach Matt Eberflus said. The 21-year-old played mostly outside in college at Cincinnati, but the Bears are moving him all around. While this would be overwhelming for most, Scott has looked far from overwhelmed at camp. The fourth-rounder should also factor into the team's return game on special teams while providing a speedy deep threat down the field on offense. For now, Scott is just one to watch in dynasty/keeper leagues.
Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Tyler Scott, who was drafted in the fourth round (133rd overall) this year, should primarily be a deep option for quarterback Justin Fields when he plays in 2023. DJ Moore is the team's clear No. 1 receiver, but they also have Chase Claypool, Darnell Mooney, Equanimeous St. Brown and Dante Pettis in the fold at the position. It's the deepest their receiver room has been in years, which means it will be hard for Scott to see valuable playing time in his first NFL season. But the Bears are counting on Scott's speed becoming a part of the offense while also being featured on special teams as a gunner. The 21-year-old's athletic profile increases his long-term ceiling, and Moore is the only wideout on the roster that the team is invested in long term.
The Chicago Bears drafted University of Cincinnati wide receiver Tyler Scott with the 133rd pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Chicago added DJ Moore in the trade package for the Carolina Panthers to move up to the No. 1 overall pick, but the rest of the wideout room consists of Darnell Mooney, Chase Claypool, and Velus Jones Jr. That said, Scott will have a chance to earn play time and targets in his rookie season. Chicago will likely be one of the NFL's most run-heavy offenses, though, so don't expect him to be a very fantasy-relevant asset in 2023.
