Jonathan Huberdeau News
Calgary Flames left wing Jonathan Huberdeau produced his first three-point performance in the team's colors on Tuesday, logging three assists in a 7-3 victory over San Jose. All of his helpers came late in the game, with Nazem Kadri scoring twice and Milan Lucic also bagging one. Huberdeau is now on 17 assists and 22 points for the whole season. His move to Calgary hasn't worked out well yet, although the 29-year-old has seemingly been improving with each passing week and is averaging close to a point per game in December. New linemates appear to have given Huberdeau a boost, and he will hope to gain further momentum before the holiday break in very favorable matchups against Los Angeles and Anaheim.
Calgary Flames left wing Jonathan Huberdeau (foot/upper body) has been trending towards returning to the lineup on Monday versus the Kings and his comeback has now been officially confirmed. He's back in the mix after sitting out three games with two different injuries. Huberdeau hurt his foot a week ago by blocking a shot in a game against the Islanders and he has also been nursing an upper-body problem. Fantasy managers will be hoping that the small break will help Huberdeau to kick-start his season because he's so far recorded only six points in 11 games. The 29-year-old was a point-per-game player last season and he should be able to kick into gear soon. Huberdeau is returning on the third line and his presence will boost the fantasy value of Mikael Backlund and Trevor Lewis.
Calgary Flames left wing Jonathan Huberdeau (foot) was a full participant in Sunday's practice and looks set to return to action Monday versus L.A. He has sat out three games with a foot injury sustained by blocking a shot. The former Panther has struggled in his first season in Calgary, posting only six points in 11 games. His last seven outings have resulted in only one goal and one assist. Huberdeau will rejoin a side that has just ended a seven-game slide, so hopefully he can start performing better now with the team having regained some confidence. He practiced on the third line with Mikael Backlund and Trevor Lewis, while also working with the first power-play unit.
The Calgary Flames have acquired forward Jonathan Huberdeau from the Panthers in exchange for forward Matthew Tkachuk. The Flames will also receive defenseman MacKenzie Weegar, forward prospect Cole Schwindt, and a conditional first-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft in the deal. Huberdeau, the former third overall draft pick in 2011, has spent his entire career with the Panthers and put up his best production with 30 goals, 85 assists and 115 points through 80 games this past season. Huberdeau will have a chance to play alongside forward Elias Lindholm in Calgary, and the 29-year-old will be motivated to put up dominant numbers once again as he can become an unrestricted free agent after the 2022-23 NHL season.
